Elegant and Easy Birthday Card

Every Envelope should have a finishing touch... easy but pretty!!
The inside of the card... a lil detail that really adds a WOW factor!!
Note the Real Red that I did on the lil strip of Creamy Caramel - it discerns the layers.

The finished Product... simple but so very pretty!!

Hidee Ho folks... I had a dear friend's bday this week... I wanted to do something in her favorite color - RED... so I whipped out our Real Red and looked on my Color Wheel for a color to pair it with. The ideal color is Creamy Caramel. I did worry - I didn't want a 'country' feel/look to the card that these two colors can have... so I when elegant. I ran the Creamy Caramel (3 3/4" x 5") thru the swirly impression plate. I adhered it to the Real Red.
I then, using the Easter Bloom stamp set I stamped on Very Vanilla the flowers and cut them out. I adhered it to a 1" x 3 3/4" Creamy Caramel that I'd flicked in Real Red (this aides in separating the layer of Creamy Caramel on top of the same color). I'd punched each flower with lil holes to thread rhinestone brads and gold brads. Using the Pop Up Dots I assembled it as such.
Knowing it needed a lil more I took a 5"x3 3/4" very vanilla and using our Markers I painted the Creamy Caramel and Real Red to create the inside. Using the Sincere Salutations I did it in Real red and adhered a flower w/ the Pop Up dots... making for a stunning and elegant inside!!
Finishing of the envelope... it's a pretty and easy card.
Recipe:
Stamps: Eastern Bloom, Sincere Salutations
Papers: Real Red, Creamy Caramel, Very Vanilla
Inks: Creamy Caramel and Real Red

Glitter Gone Baddddd

What??
'Do you forgive me, mommy??'

Bath time... no time to hit the park...

Glitter Gone Baddddd

Oatmeal and Glitter when mixed...

Boo Boo faces from daddy's punishing the glitter palooza...
Sal's now sparkly couch... sigh - boys do not like to sparkle..

Sparkly tears..

Coughing as the glitter is in her nose, ears, eyes, hair, tush and more... and daddy did punish her..

OK So I dropped my son off at Kindergarten while the hubby watched the girls... I returned to see two crying lil girls sitting on a 'break' and one angry daddy. Trying to not giggle too much I told my girlfriend (whom I was on the phone w/) that I had to run. This is what I've discovered:
~ Glitter from Stampin' Up! is very, very, very sparkly.
~ It sticks with OUT glue very very very well.
~ Getting it out of the carpets, my son's play couch takes more than your normal vacuuming.
~ Bathing the girls took 5 head washings and it STILL is in their hair.
~ You may need to shower them as the water that has collected the run off glitter is filled again with glitter - reapplying said glitter.
~ That YOU will soon become covered in glitter after bathing and cleaning up said glitter.
~ Your kids will have glitter in the oddest places... tushies that were covered in diapers to ears.
~ Try to love them and NOT laugh at the situation - because the action was 'very naughty'...
~ LOCK UP your glitter!! Sigh...
I hope you'll see two of my very best creations covered in glitter (it's hard to capture in a picture) and know that I'm one sparkly but blessed mother.
Toodle... looooo ~ J

10 Minute Holiday Card

Holiday Card done in 10 minutes!!Ready.. Set... GOOOOO!!!!

Run the cut card stock thru the Big Shot using the new Holiday Mini 'Petals a Plenty' folder.... easy and classy!

Color it in with our amazing Markers... the Paint Brush Tip really makes it easy and fun!

Sixteen Seconds left over... AWESOME!!

Have 10 minutes?? We all do - I thought - humm - with the challenge offered by Carole Ann and Sandi from the LNStampers I figured I, too, could add a 10 minute card once a week.

Sometimes cards are too complicated and take too long.. so I wanted to see how I could create a classy card in under 10 minutes... and I did!! Cutting the Paper LONG ways at 4 1/4" I created a looong card. I boned it and with our amazing Big Shot and the newest Folder 'Petals A Plenty' it quickly embosses for a BIG impression!

Looking like Pointsettias I grabbed the Home For Christmas Stamp set and stamped it on Very Vanilla in Chocolate Chip. I then snagged my Markers and colored in the Real Red first. I then went in with the Garden Green, then the Creamy Caramel for the wood. I then went in with Close to Cocoa for the boulders and using our Painty Pen (has silver on one end and gold on the other) I highlighted what would be metal in Gold.

I then ripped the edges (pulling towards me) of the picture and the sentiments (in Chocolate Chip and Real Red). I then flicked it in the Chocolate Chip Stamp Pad for a rustic look. Adhered it on with my SNAIL... and BAM... a quick card in less than 10 minutes (16 seconds to spare - whew!!)

Recipe:

Papers: Real Read, Very Vanilla

Stamps: Home for Christmas

Inks: Chocolate Chip Pad, Real Red, Garden Green, Caramel, Close to Cocoa markers

Accessories: Big Shot's Folding plate 'Petals A Plenty' and Painty Gold Marker/Pen

Challenge: What can YOU do in 10 minutes??

UpGraded 10 Minute Card... simply add 3 minutes!

OK so have 3 more minutes?? Grab that Paint Pen and with Gold hit every lil raised dot. I LOVE the lil shot of metal and sparkle... it needed a little more. Hummm.... Grabbing our Holiday Mini Gold Elastic String... Adhere the Painted Door and Sentiments from Home for Christmas. Bam - a lil Sparkle, a lil Gold, Pretty and Classic.
I hope YOU like it 'cause I do... Have a Sparkle Filled Day!! Hugs ~ J

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
