Hanging a Stocking...

There are countless stockings for sale each year and I am always tempted to buy another series! I love stockings!! Silly.... When the Late Night Stampers challenged gift card holders for this week I couldn't resist!

Start by using the Big Shot, the Holiday Stocking Bigz L die that scores and die cuts. The Festival of Paper pack from the Holiday Mini (it will be gone soon, get yours!) and Very Vanilla paper to create this fun Gift Card holder and card. The Regals Button Collection and the Cherry Cobbler bakers twine 'tie' it all up! (Lol)

The die pops out the stocking in the smaller paper from the Festival of Paper pkt. Running the Very Vanilla paper thru gives you the stocking and the 'stitched" addition of the cuff, heal and toe 'patches'.

With your Simply Scored board or the new Paper Cutter from Stampin' Up! (It's measure tool is amazing and score blade works with the same track as the cutting.). Score the vanilla stocking 1/2" from the top. Use SNAIL adhesive on that area and line up the two stockings.

This allows for the card to open while looking smooth and sleek. If you wan to hang this, like an ornament: tie a loop of Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine with a simple knot. I adde it between the two layered cards. The knot allows for the loop to stay where you place it.

Snail Adhesive the pieces on, ohhhh and ahhh with me, don't you love the stich on the "patches".

I added a 2-1/2" long x 1/2" strip of Very Vanilla to the inside. I found that the tone on tone is cute at hiding this as a pocket. It leaves, too, for writing above this strip and under. SNAIL adhesive was good but a fine line of Hot Glue Reeally holds it down. This is ideal when using it for a gift card, you do NOT want the card to fall out.

"Happy Christmas" is a fun twist and perfect size for the "pocket". I used Chocolate Chip as I LOVE it on Vanilla. Lol.

Button up the project with the Regals Button collection. I used the large Cherry Cobbler button with the Garden Green button on top. The Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine ties it up so cute! This emulates the pattern too! Aww!

We plan to use this on cubical a for my husbands employees gifts this year. A lotto ticket, gift card or just cash works so well with this pocket. Just enough room to write and a cute Ornament to boot! (To boot - lol.). This is ideal for coworkers, dorm rooms, Christmas Trees and more! Hang some love!

I hope YOUR stockings are so cute and filled with goodies! Happy Christmas!

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
