Give the Teacher an Apple!

Giving our teachers a clever gift is challenging..
they receive soooo many gifts!
I know many teachers don't have green thumbs, so live plants are out (lol - one teacher friend confessed that she's up for homicide of the many plants given to her - lol).

HERE is a fun gift that will require NO care, is cute and lightweight - not taking up much space, either!
Gathering a 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of Real Red (#102482) card stock and cutting it into 11 1" strips... this red apple comes to life!!  Top it off with this sweet Old Olive card stock (#100702) 3" card, our Storytime Designer Series Paper (#126907) is perfect for the teachers and students in your life.. and this card!!

Our Modern Label punch (#119849) is a great sentiment punch - especially for our Teeny Tiny Wishes (#115370)!  Accenting this Thank You with our Country Side* stamp set (#116998) and this darling apple.  Coloring the apple stamp directly with our Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker (#120953) and Real Red Stampin' Write Marker (#105115). (*This Country Side stamp set is soon to retire!  CLICK HERE to see all of our soon-to Retire items and colors, tools and accessories and which are available for up to 60% OFF!)
This sweet Apple card is cute enough to eat!
Our Stampin' Write Markers ROCK!  I love coloring parts of images in different colors and the results are sure to WOW!
A light weight, never to go bad apple is a great gift for those many teachers and school staff in your life!  I also love to decorate for one of my favorite holiday seasons... School Return - so for the last half of September I pull out my Apple decorations, owls, rulers and vintage school books - it reminds me that my summer is nearly over with my kids and gets them excited to return to school!
Button it up with our Antique Brads (#117273) for the top and bottom.  The brads have a longer tine and are great at holding the top and bottom of this apple together!
The BOTTOM Brad needs to be inside
so that it sits flat.
Punching these branches with the help of my Bird Builder punch (#117191) and my Old Olive card stock (#100702) makes for a great stem on this apple.
Create this sweet apple when you line up the 11 - 1" strips of our Real Red card stock (#102482) like so:
Punching holes in the top and bottom.
Brad it up with our Antique Brads.
Start fanning it out - strip by strip and it will start bowing, becoming round.  The 'bottom' brad will be a cute embellishment on the inside!
BAM!
A sweet apple that is crisp, will not go bad and is sure to brighten a teacher's day!!  No care required, all the teacher will feel is the love and appreciation behind it!

Easy to make, fun to give.... who will YOU make this for?!?!  Leave me a comment and let me know!

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
