Mini Banners

OK so I have the coolest nieces and nephew!
Going to see my sister and her family this year (my first trip sans kids, ever!) was a blessed time of reconnection and remembering who Iiiii am!!

Teens these days have way more than they need... so I wanted to create a custom gift that matched their personalities... These MINI Name Banners were easy to travel with and they celebrate each of their style!
My family owns my heart... so it's fitting that the Hearts a Flutter framelits (#130159), my Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (#113439) and Big Shot Magnetic Platform (#130658) can create these oh-so-fabulous banners!

Don't waste paper!
Cutting the paper to be the dimension of the banner flag that you pick!  The Magnetic Platform holds the framelit right where you want it and it will go through (up-to) 3 sheets of stacked Designer Series Paper for a quick creation!
My mini-me, baby niece owns my heart.... so creating her a banner in her favorite colors was easy and fun with our Eastern Elegance (#130131) Designer Series Paper.  The Costal Cabana captured her heart... that and the BLING of our Silver Glimmer Paper (#124005)!

Adding these sweet punched Bitty Butterflies (#129406) show that she makes her Auntie's heart flutter!!
When I think of my awesome nephew... I see my son and how they remind me of one another.  My son is following in his older cousin's footsteps with his love of Sports.. so capturing the look for my nephew was uber fun.

Our Modern Medley hounds tooth print reminds me of his Cool vibe.  Layering Real Red card stock (#102482) for a POP on his name.  Adding Basic Black card stock (#121045) mini flags stamped with the Versa Mark pad (#102283).  Silver embossed (Silver embossing powder #109131 and our Heat Tool #129053) Great Sport footballs (#124307) to pick up his all-boy vibe (we don't have any paintball guns to stamp - lol).
My Classic Beauty niece is all over the Afternoon Picnic (#131390) for a girly-girl elegance.  This will be perfect in her dorm room!  Our (retired but so lovely) Vintage Flower Trim accented with Wisteria Wonder (#126985) ink for a coordinated and elegant look.

I A-D-O-R-E my Big Shot!  Punching the letters out with our Typeset Alphabet Bigz creates a quick and easy project that has a great impact!

Tied together with our Whisper White Baker's Twine (#124262) for a stream-lined look.  Every teen loves to see their name in lights... here these great kids have their own banner to celebrate who they are!  Individuals and oh-so-awesome!!

What do you think??  Please Share Me and This with a Pin, Email, Facebook post, Tweet.. and Join Me with a follow on these avenues like Pinterest and YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and Foursquare!  Get even MORE Gettin' Crafty Stampin' with our Exclusive Mailing List and it's many rewards!!

How do you celebrate those in your life who mean so much?!?!  Hang their name in a way that will leave an impression!  Name Banners are guaranteed to be fun and personal.. and hand crafting a gift is sure to be even more special.

Open Sea Thoughts

A simple and fun card that twists up the normal stamping process....
I wanted to create a neutral card and think that this card is just that!  See the Video below on this fun stamping technique, too!
Our The Open Sea stamp set (#123032) is a great vintage, masculine, neutral card.  I love it!  I'm a girl through and through but this vintage card with a twist was fun to make!

Our Chocolate Chip card stock (#102128) is the Base for this card.  and Stamping the Sea Ledger with Bleach gives a fun twist.  It has a variegation in color within the bleached stamp.
My COLOR COACH (#130118) is a favorite tool of mine.  It partnered Chocolate Chip with Crumb Cake and Marina Mist.  Here stamping the Anchor (with Bleach) for a cool seaside colored look on the Crumb Cake card stock (#120953).

Stamping this Thinking of You from the Sassy Salutations (#126707) in Marina Mist ink (#126962) for a cool marina feel.  Punch it out with our Decorative Label (120907) for a cool look that mimic's waves.
Layering the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper (#130140) for a cool natural and rustic look over that bleached stamp.  This wood look reminds me of an old boat wood look or nautical sign.

Flip the Paper over....
For a COOL Map Look!  That body of water and vintage print really ties this card all together!
(Reminds me of a Ghost Ship, kind of like my favorite movies as a kid - Goonies!! lol)
I love the bleach stamping tied in with the ink, the cool and vintage colors...
doesn't she look ready to sail??
Depending on which look you like, they can be accomplished with our top of the line papers, stamps, inks, (bleach, even) and Punches/Tools.

You are AMAZING!!

Have you ever sat back and watched as the student became the teacher?
This amazing group of girls, the Menendez family, have really blessed me!  They came to me, one day after church, and with no knowledge of stamping have take the Gettin' Crafty Stampin' bootcamp and now create AMAZING works of art!

Here Martha ROCKED this beautiful card... leave us a comment and let us know what you think!
Starting with the Smoky Slate Designer Series Paper from our Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack (#130132).  This collection comes with 40 sheets of pretty patterned papers (WOW!).

Here she used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool/Board (#122334) to create these sweet Lolly/Rosettes.
Our adhesive backed Large Rhinestone Basic Jewels really makes it POP!  Layered over the Basic Black inked (#126980) En Francais (#127790) background stamp.  The Black really POPS and is so classic on the new Smoky Slate card stock (#131202).

Tie in the Polka Dotted Paper with our Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (#113439) and the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder (#117335).  I just love the look of the embossed polka dots on the En Francais stamped background!
One of my new favorite stamp sets is the Lovely Romance set (#130267)!  So elegant, sharp, vintage but trendy and cool... ohhhh, I could use it daily!!

Prep and Powder the Black card stock (#126980) with the Embossing Buddy (#103083) to assure a sharp heat emboss.  Stamp this Amazing image with the Versa Mark pad (#102283) and heat set with our Heat Tool (#129053) and Silver embossing powder (#109131).  NOWwwww the Smoky Slate takes on a Silver hew!

Punch this sentiment out with our Chalk Talk (#129983) Framelits, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (#113439) and the new Big Shot Magnetic Platform (#130685).  Easy Peasy and Oh-So Sharp!!
OK so I didn't let on that this wonderful Martha is only 12!!  She's just amazing!  A sweet girl, the youngest in her family, she is spunky and oh-so fun!
Talented, oh so talented, too!  From her love of baking to her skills in stamping, I couldn't be more proud of this girl and this beautiful card!

Folded Cheer

I love the idea that a card is a hug with a fold in the middle... here are some folded cards that are sure to cheer someone's day!
See how to do this, step-by-step to create a card that has many folds.... all that are hugs to be sent.
Amazed at how fun and easy it is to change up cards that are similar.  With the same inspiration of our Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper (#129310) two different cards come to life.
Grabbing a 12"x12" card stock and score it with our Simply Scored Scoring Tool (#122334).  Here my Whisper White 12" card stock (#124302) is scored at 2", 4", 8" and 10" score marks on the Simply Scored Scoring Board with the larger end of the Simply Scored Stylus (#125624).

CUT the other side at 5-1/2" with our Stampin' Trimmer (#126889).  This allows for a card near the traditional size.  (4" x 5-1/2" when folded)

FLIP OVER and fold it crisp into it's self with the Bone Folder (#102300).  This is now ready to become any card you may like!
When folded you can decide the different look to the card.  Here the Wildflower Meadow background stamp (#129168) inked with the Island Indigo (#126986) to coordinate with the Gingham Garden paper.

Using Feel Goods (#129684) is full of feel-good sentiments.  This stamp set, used on both cards, is so flexible.  It fits perfectly in the Labels Collection Framelits (#125598) that is held perfectly in place with the Big Shot Magnetic Platform (#130658) on my Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (#113439).
Here the Stippled Blossoms (#126747) stamp set gets its colors from the Gingham Garden paper.  Daffodil Delight ink (#126944) is the ideal base for this bright flower.  Layering (with our 2-step stamp system) the second accent stamp with our Melon Mambo ink (#126948).
SCORE the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper on the Simply Scored Scoring Board/Tool with the smaller side of the Simply Scored Stylus at every 1/4".  After scoring the full 12"x12" piece of paper cut  the opposite side at 1" increments.  This now has 12 - 1" scored pieces of paper.

Fold and then hot glue this lolly/rosette.  Adhere it down, too, with the hot glue for a tight hold.

Our Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons (#127555) for a neutral bling, adhered to the top of the lolly/rosette.
Belly Band it closed.  Create a band that wraps around using either Designer Series Paper or Card Stock, it slips off  to allow the tri-folded (Double Z) card.
Given the same card stocks, folds, sentiments... you can create a slew of different looks and feels.

Folding cards and projects really allows for versatility and fun!  One of my favorite tools, our Simply Scored Scoring Tool and Simply Scored Stylus.

Sending a hug with this card, this cheer is sure to be received and multiplied.  My kids call this a spy card, that it's full of secrets, lol. The Lolly holds the Belly Band down and ties it all together.

Cup of Love

It is nooooo secret that I looooove my cocoa and coffee!  When our Perfect Blend stamp set (#131392) came to life, I just knew it'd be mine... mine I say!! (Ok, so maybe too much coffee today? lol)

I created this gift tag to top my Chocolate Mint Covered Espresso Beans... a gift I created for my stamping sisters in the Antelope Valley.

See the Video below on how to have fun with Bleach Stamping!  Leave me a comment and let me know what you think of this fun project.
Mariacristina had asked me, when we were at Convention, how to make these oval bows... so I couldn't resist including them in my gift to her and the gang!

Stamping with BLEACH - yes, bleach, creates a cool look.  Here on Early Espresso card stock (#119686) this travel cup creates such a cool look.  We have this new gentle and eco-friendly bleach and I was worried.. would it work?!?!

It maybe a little softer than the harsher bleach but it didn't give me a bad headache and it did work.

These bows are my new favorite thing!
Using Ovals!  Yes... Ovals....
OK so PUNCH with Punches (here I used the Scallop Oval punch #119856 and the Small Oval punch #120908) or the new Ovals Collection Framelits (#129381) and Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (#113439) to create layered ovals for a bow.

What you do is use adhesive (here I used Hot Glue) and you fold the oval in half.  So there are two scalloped ovals on the bottom and two of the small ovals and hot glued them (very, very carefully) over the Travel Mug.
For my dear friends, Susy (my upline) and Sarah (my downline) I created these little jars of Chocolate Mint Espresso Beans!  Adding cute accessories like our 1-1/4" and 7/8" Scallop Circle Punches (#127811 and #129404), tying in the Espresso Theme with our Early Espresso 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon (#126871).
Early Espresso Baker's Twine (#123124)... all easily coordinated.  Our Neutrals Designer Series Paper (#130132) for amazing patterned papers in all of your favorite colors - the whole color family and available in each color family/collection!!

Don't you just LOVE how perfectly coordinated papers, accessories, inks... it's easier than ever to create amazing crafting projects and gifts!
All tied up, buttoned up with an adhesive backed Pearl Basic Jewels (#119247)... it's a dash of luxury to a sweet gift tag!
CLICK BELOW to see a Video on how to Bleach Stamp... it's fun, easy and a twist on the norm.

Modern Medley Bow

One of my favorite parts of my business with Stampin' Up! is the connections and relationships.

Today day was one of the many aspects of my business where I had an opportunity to meet, connect and craft with my Upline, Sisterline and more....
I drove the 95 miles to see my dear friend Susy Reno who celebrated her 25th Anniversary with Stampin' Up!  Connecting with some of the Demonstrators in the Antelope Valley was fun (hot but fun).

THIS is what we created today... what do you think??
Using this PREVIEW of the Holiday Catalog Gift Bow Bigz L Die (#129977 - available after August 1st) in conjunction with the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper (#126926) for a delightful, funky bow!!
OK so I like this die... but I love this paper. When Susy gave me the papers, a sample to mimic... I had to switch it up!!  (I detest being placed in a box, unless it's one I've created, lol.)

Using these pieces of Modern Medley I built it after cutting the edges of two of the tree bows.
BEFORE adhering it to the Kraft Gift Box  (#124106)that I'd tied closed with the 7/8" Natural Cotton Ribbon....

I had to make this bow different and more useful.

INSTEAD of adhering it to the box, I adhered ONE Side of the bow to ONE side of the bottom piece.
With such a great box to work with, it almost doesn't need a big bow....  but adding something fun can make the present extra special!!  (Did you know that we sell these great boxes, and more??  Including dies to make boxes, our Simply Scored Board to aide in scoring boxes and more!!)
Leaving the bottom with a FLAP... like you see above, you can re-use the bow by slipping it under the ribbon on this and other gifts or cards!!

I LOVE re-gifting items that are cool - our oldest daughter has inherited many a cooking item (we have so many cooking tools - lol).  Here a beautiful bow will now be like a cat - with multiple lives!!
Letting the flap fall open, simply slide it under the tied Natural Cotton Ribbon... and this is double tied for a WOW gift!!
What a fun twist on the usual bow.  This stunning paper is neutral enough to be used for many gifts, many people of varying ages and stages in life!!
So simple and fun... it is 'tops' in my book!  Slid right into my heart - bahahah, Ok so giggle at my silly humor, eh??
WHO would YOU gift this beautiful box to?
What would you place inside??
Leave me a comment and let me know!

Wedding Jar

How do YOU Celebrate "I Do!"??
At a recent Joyous Jar class...
one of my amazing stamping friends created to celebrate her brother and soon-to-be sister-in-law's wedding/bridal shower.

Leave me a comment and
let me know what you think.
With the aide of wonderful coordinated papers, like this Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper (#131390) a lovely gift is a twist away!!

Grabbing my Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (#113439)*, Big Shot Magnetic Platform (#130658)* and Circles Collection Framelits (#130911)* to create perfect circles for the top of this jar (and most jars!).

*CLICK HERE to see how YOU can earn these or any other item for FREE or 1/2 OFF!!
Topping off this Jar (what a fun twist on a gift to give!) wrapping the Victoria Crochet Trim (#118481) for a vintage elegant look.  The secret is hot gluing the ribbon on.  Adding these beautiful roses (from the Spring Mini) to celebrate the Past, Present and Future.
Wedding Cake with out the calories??  Using our Scallop punches to create a top and bottom, wrapping the sides in the beautiful paper.  Layering the sides with a beautiful lace like this Delicate Details Lace Tape.
It even lights up!
What a lovely way to light-up the day!!
We added pearls (but I forgot to snap a shot of it).  The ease in decorating, celebrating and honoring occasions is also FUN when you have a wonderful selection of top-quality products!!
I can't wait to show you the stunning banner that is included inside... but that will be next time!!

Family Banner

Do you ever resent wasted paper??  I love the look of banners but am often frustred by the paper that is unusable.  In our Eco-Friendly world, my stamping friends often take my extras and use them in their other projects.

HERE is a fun and easy project to do with
NO Wasted Paper or Time while
PACKED with FUN!
Using our Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper (#130814) cut into 6" x 6" squares.

Using our Stampin' Trimmer (#126889) and SCORE at 3" (down the middle).

CUT the now SCORED line (at the 3" point) with the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (#113439), Big Shot Magnetic Platform (#130658), zig-zag Finishing Touches Edgelits.  (The Magnetic Platform holds the Edgelit EXACTLY where I want it - on that scored 3" line!)
CUT these strips at 2" intervals and the Designer Series Paper is not wasted!

Here with the Typeset Alphabet Bigz (#127553) the letters F A M I L Y.  Adhere them over this Daffodil Delight (#119683) card stock that was punched with the 1-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch.
The SNAIL adhesive (104332) allows for this to stick together (like a family should) with clean lines and layering.

String it together, our Daffodil Delight 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon (#126872) for a clean look that mimics the pattern in the Epic Day paper.

This zig-zag look is ideal, it's the same on both sides!
What a FUN Swap this was at Convention!

My girlfriends and roomies loved this banner, it's easy creation and conservation of paper!

Hang a banner (or two, three, four - lol).  Celebrate occasions, seasons, memories and
what is important to you!

See how YOU can take home the Big Shot, Typeset Alphabet Bigz and more at 1/2 OFF or FREE!!  CLICK HERE to see HOW with our AMAZING Hostess Benefits (you can earn with or with out a Private Class/Party!) and have fun with me!!

Leave me a comment and let me know what You'd Place on a Banner??  Which of our Designer Series Papers would you use??

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
