Yippee! Send some Joy this Spring!

A girlfriend in Canada asked me "How can you tell the seasons in California - they are all the same!!". Well, if you don't know that the weather ROCKS where I live, it does but the seasons are designated by different things - in winter we get down to the 50's and 60's and there maybe rain (lol) but the Spring brings the Santa Ana Winds!  So in toast to the Spring Season and the onslaught of allergies (thanks to the afore mentioned winds) I created a cool and graphic hand-stamped card that celebrates Spring in Southern California (lol).
Create this card with:
Yippee-Skippee stamp set (#131341w/131344c)
Summer Silhouettes stamp set (#132082w/126447c)
Basic Black card stock (#121045)
Modern Medley Designer Series Paper (#126926)
Vellum Card Stock (#101856)
Rhinestone Jewels (#119246)
Embossing Buddy (#103083)
Versa Mark ink (#102283)
White Embossing Powder (#109132)
Heat Tool (#129053)

HURRY as they go away March 31st!!

In honor of this wind, my kids can't wait to find a dandelion to blow (sigh - my poor yard).  Here is a windy day dandelion card that is sure to make you Happy!!

Prepare the surface of the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper with the Embossing Buddy.  Powdering the surface will provide for a clean surface and a better heat embossed image.
Stamp with Versa Mark ink pad this 2-Step stamping set of the Summer Silhouette stamps et.  The stem at an angle shows the bend of the wind.  Adding the blossoms to the end of the stem (the Clear block system makes this uber easy - if using a Wood Block set, use the Stamp-a-ma-jig tool #101049 for a precision stamped image - this works with the clear block stamps too but needed less).

Show the wind blown blossoms with this small solo stamp from the set that blows stamped across the page.  Cover the page with White Embossing Powder and shake off the excess.

Adding bling.. every child loves blowing those dandelions... I would, too, if I didn't know the damage they do to my yard - sigh... so adding our adhesive backed Rhinestone Jewels to the blown blossoms here is a great way to celebrate the joy of childhood.
The Modern Medley Designer Series Paper is a FAVORITE of Mine!!  Here the graphic look of the text background sucked up my sentiment from the Yippee-Skippee stamp set (as you can see).  So laying a corner of Vellum Card Stock to where I'd want it, I restamped the sentiment with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed the White Embossing Powder.  This gave enough of a separation to work!

Using Glue Dots to adhere the Vellum down they show (as does most adhesives on Vellum).  Cover those dots and coordinate the card with the adhesive backed Rhinestone Jewels!!
Blingy Bam!  I love the results and it's graphic feel!!  The Black card stock base is a perfect base - add some White Embossed dandelion blossoms to the inside of the card for an additional wow!!

Spring is HERE in Southern California!  Feel the breeze (or blustery wind - depending on the day or time of day).  This blown dandelion card is a great way to toast this new Spring Season and send an uber cool and graphic hand-stamped, embossed card!  It may be that we have great weather here in Southern California but even we can find reason to grumble.  May YOU find Joy and Happiness this Spring - no matter the weather!

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
