I Love the look of tone on tone. Our stunning top-quality colors come in coordinating and matching colors so that you can create many looks.  Here stamping the I Love Lace background stamp with the Blushing Bride ink on the Blushing Bride card stock creates a tone on tone look that is elegant and subtle, making for a vintage vibe.

Take the vintage feel up when you distress the edges.  Simply age it and soften it with the Stampin' Sponges in the Blushing Bride ink pad.  Rub the ink along the edges, more in the corners (like on the right side of the card, above) for a softer, subtle accent that with tone-on-tone will add age to this card.
Create these stunning 3D roses to accent your hand-stamped cards, gift bags, tags, and more using our Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine and the Spiral Flower Die.

Laying both the Typset Spiral flower over the Blushing Bride one.  I like to use my Bone Folder (102300) like on ribbon and pull it softly to make the shape curl.  Punch a whole in the base piece with the 1/8" Circle Handheld punch and add the Antique brad of your choice.  Roll the flowers together and add hot glue to the base around the Antique Brad to hold the rose together.  Adhere it to the card front with the hot glue for an extra strong hold.
Tie on some fun... using the Venetian Lace Crochet Trim and tie on this pretty accent.  You can either lay it out on the card or tie it into a bow... both are lovely.  I love how they accent the Million & One sentiment in the Jet Black Stazon ink on this card.

So, back to school my kids go (a bittersweet time) and with them new backpacks.  I love that backpacks are Back In STYLE!!  SCORE - this mom loves the idea of having free hands again while being stylish.  THIS new backpack is for ME!!  SCORE - and of course it inspired a cool card.
Grab the new Decorative Masks - here the Dots and Stripes gives me the perfect tool to create these cute, colorful polka-dots that mimicked my new backpack.  Use the Sponge Dauber on my finger (it's such a FUN tool to use, like finger-painting without getting my fingers dirty!!).  Dip in the Cherry Cobbler ink pad (I like to use the corners that are used less in stamping and juicy with ink).  Rub into the openings for this cool design on the Crumb Cake card stock.
BAM!  Stylish, cool, adorable Cherry Cobbler polka-dots on the Crumb Cake card stock that perfectly mimics my new stylish (oh so cute) backpack.
Tie on some cute fun!!  The new Gift Bow Bigz Die creates the cutest collection of bows and oh so easily.  I was originally against this bow, until I played with it!  Having fallen in-love with it, see how easy it is to use.  I do recommend using the new Fast Fuse adhesive.

Simply run the Basic Black card stock (the other half of this one sheet in making the card base) through the Big Shot with the Gift Bow die.  Adhesive the ends with the Fast Fuse adhesive (a super strong adhesive).  Use the 1/8" Circle handheld punch to make a hole for the Antique Brad.  Use the Fast Fuse to 'hide' the brad backing with the ends of the bow - already cut out for you thanks to the die.

Wrap and adhere the pretty Venetian Crochet Lace Trim under the Bow for a perfect mimic of my new bag - YAY!

It's simple, cute and chic - just like my girlfriends!!  So stamp this simple sentiment from the And Many More stamp set using the Jet Black Stazon ink pad.  These perfectly sized sentiments are great for so many uses!
This card was fun and quick to create - and I LOVE the look of it!  I am so happy with my new bag and this card shows how awesome hand-stamping and card-making can be inspired by fashion!

Cheers! Punch-Art Hot Air Balloon hand-stamped card

The summer winds it's way down and with that you can look to the sky to see the many hot air balloons that will be soaring about!  Several Hot Air Balloon Festivals occur here in Southern California and I can't wait!  Since I will be on the ground, looking up in awe and wonder, the skies afloat with colorful, soft flying, whooshes of heated air, this punch-art, hand-stamped card comes to mind.  Join me in creating and celebrating this fun flying time.
Create this punch-art card with:
And Many More stamp set (wood 134273/clear 134276)
Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper (113693)
Old Olive card stock (100702)
Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write Marker (120970)

I Love that Punch Art makes you look at your tools, from the Framelits and Dies for the Big Shot* or your Punches and create something new!

Create a sun - simply adhere, with our SNAIL adhesive, to the card corner. Turn it over and trim off the excess - this creates a cool accent and this bright, colorful, pretty patterned paper mimics the sun with stunning rays basking the sky.

Tool Tip Tuesday:  I Love my punches - and am always bummed when they get 'stuck' or just stop punching like they used to.  A quick and easy way to fix them??
~  You can, if they are stuck, stick it in the freezer for a short bit of time.  This can allow the metal to constrict and release.  You may need to allow them to 'drop' from a short distance to pop it loose.
~  If they are jamming, punch a folded (folded 2-4x) a piece of wax paper and then the same to an aluminum foil (folded 2-4x) then the wax paper again.  The wax paper will help to 'grease/coat' the sides.  The aluminum foil will help to sharpen the punch sides to re-sharpen.  You may need to do the foil a few pieces of time.

I use my punches a ton - so when one eventually dies, I am bummed.  Sometimes these tricks don't work - darn - but they have on most of my stamps and it's awesome!  I hope this helps, happy Tool Tip Tuesday!
Here using the 1-3/4" Circle Punch, punch out four circles.  Fold, in half, three of the circles and adhere one with two circles on each side - creating a 3 dimensional circle.  Adhere it to the card, all using our SNAIL adhesive.

This Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper is so colorful and trendy!  Look around, from signage at Starbucks to décor, color is back as is bold patterns.

Punch the basket portion of this Hot Air Balloon with the Cupcake Punch for a cool base to this flying punch-art balloon.  Add these lines using the Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write Marker.  Using the same marker, color the stamp directly with the paint brush tip and apply - just like a stamp pad.  Cheers is a perfect way to celebrate a life like this!!

From the love of flight to the desire to be in the sky, there are amazing ways to celebrate life and give a feeling - all in a card!  Enjoy the skies - as this month and Fall are sure to fill the skies with colorful and shaped patterned hot-air balloons.  Some day, I hope to ride in the skies in one of these beauties - until then, let me send cards that embrace the beauty of these gentle giants.  Send a hand-stamped, punch-art card that embodies all of this and more - to someone special in your life.

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
