Witching you a Happy Halloween classroom gift

For a girl who doesn't celebrate much in the way of Halloween, I do find ways to celebrate it in whimsical and fun versions.  I have four children in school this year and creating a gift for their classmates is a fun way to share in how we care!  This treat is perfect in 'Witching You a Happy Halloween'.  Create a witches broom from our cardstock, Fringe Scissors and Sticky Strip adhesive and delight the kids who receive it.  Not all families find time to celebrate the fun moments in life - I love, even as my son is getting 'too old' for such fun - it delights him to give the gifts and blesses their classmates (whom they've grown up with all their lives).
Create this Halloween 'Witches Broom' Pencils for a Classroom Gift with:
Holiday Home stamp set (Photopolymer 135095)
Whisper White card stock (100730)
Basic Black card stock (121045)
Tangerine Tango ink pad (126946)
Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad (132708)
Basic Black Baker's Twine (134576)
Fringe Scissors (133325)
1/4" Circle Handheld Punch (134364)

Creating this cute tag is super easy!  Using Word I create a document that had three columns and narrow margins.  I printed this simple sentiment over and over - for each of my kids - and printed them!  I love that our Whisper White card stock prints so great!

Stamping this adorable little jack-o-latern is easy using the Holiday Home stamp set!  I love how easy it is to use and the image is so clear!
Trimming the Basic Black card stock into 2-1/4" strips and cut the edges with the Fringe Scissors.  Leave a boarder to adhere to the pencils.  Apply with the Sticky Strip to the bordered edge.  Cut this fringed paper into 2-3/4" sections.  Roll along the edge so that it over laps.  Fluff the edges of the fringe for a broom like look.
Add a tag!  Using the 'Witching You a Happy Halloween' tags punch a 1/4" Circle whole using the Handheld punch. Add to the pencil for a cute sentiment.  I then used the Basic Black Baker's Twine to tie on a baggie (our Cellophane Bags) to tie on some cute Halloween themed erasers and a lollipop - what a sweet way to tie on the holiday!

If you celebrate Halloween or Fall or not-at-all - finding reasons to deliver smiles to my kids and their classmates is a fun way to brighten their day!  These Pencils are a 'smart way' to deliver smiles.  Adding the erasers is a great way to show that we all make mistakes and the lollipop - what is this holiday with out sweets, lol?  So as I create 100 or so of these little 'witches brooms' using pencils - I can't wait to see my kids deliver some smiles at school tomorrow.  We Witch YOU a Happy Halloween - from my home to yours!

I adore a stamp set that I can use all year long - for many celebrations and just-because hand-crafted cards.  This great Holiday Home Photopolymer stamp set and *BUNDLE (*Score - saving 15% for coordinating rubber stamp sets and framelits for my Big Shot!!) ROCKS!!  Here the Halloween is 'clear' (Photopolymer stamps are clear - lol) spooky fun!
TOOL TIP TUESDAY... Sponge up your next project... it's amazing how our Stampin' Sponges can change the look of a project.  Here with the torn edge of a piece of spare cardstock you can create a sky with Basic Grey ink on the Smoky Slate cardstock.  Modify this to create a puffy cloud filled sky or a wavy water (lake/ocean) scene.  The Stampin' Sponge is amazing and easy to use.  I love to cut them into wedges and use them over and over (rinse them to use with a new color!).  They age a project into vintage bliss or soften a scene and even add depth.  Play with these babies and have fun!
The houses have the coolest looks and are easy to decorate.  Here they perfectly pop out using the Homemade Holiday Framelits on my Magnetic Platform and Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine!
Going Halloween or Fall?  Chose what color you chose for the falling leaves!  It's spookier with the Basic Grey inked leaves stamp but more Fall when you use the Tangerine Tango inked leaves stamp.  The cutest pumpkins are easy to build using the clear Photopolymer Stamp Set.

Weekend Adventures Memories Documented and Shared

So our lives are super busy... from school and afterschool commitments, Violin and Band and Guitar Club, Stamp Club, Awanas, Homework, Work and Working Out, then trying to clean the house and connect.. whew! When you have as many kids and activities as we do, finding time to create and document memories has to be scheduled - lol.  So it was fun as I was documenting our weekend adventure to see our youngest get excited to see her picture and to even talk about it.
I love that this quick system allows me to highlight their activities and no pressure to journal too much.  The pictures say so much - it's great to highlight them.  I love how fun it is to celebrate their childhood memories and leave behind a legacy of love and memories and to Share It with them Now.

I don't receive anything for this referral but I found the Coolest App that I have to share with you!  CLICK HERE to see more on the Groovebook App and how to print 100 photos for FREE (yes, Free) from your smart phone!!  Printing your photos is more than 1/2 of the struggle in documenting our lives, isn't it?
We are blessed to live in a beautiful community with so much to offer near by.  Here was our little excursion to the Ronald Reagan Library.  This is a fun 'library' were you can walk, touch, and have an interactive experience.  My kids love it.  With something new to see or do around every corner, they are never board.

A portion of the Twin Towers resides at this library/museum.  The kids (and us) actually touching this important piece of our history... making sure our children (and us) remember is so near and dear to our hearts.
This simple pocket style documenting system is so perfectly coordinated with cards, accessories, colors and style.  They fit our life and make it easy to look good as a page pulls together.  These cute wooden accents just add fun and a 'cool factor' to our memories.
My angel, our youngest was delighted to see her in the pictures of our recent trip to the Ronald Reagan Library.  Here the kids were on a mock horse ride with the President and they loved it (with no risk or injury or clean up - lol).  Here the present was touched by the past.  Coordinating stickers in this Everyday Adventure collection make for easy highlighting of our memories.  The journaling pens make it easy to jot down the highlights of our time together - yay!

When your life is fast paced and full, taking photos is easy (thanks to my Iphone).  I love how with a few spare moments I can document our memories.  Sure, leaving a legacy of love for my family is key but enjoying these memories NOW is wonderful.  Seeing my children, hubby, friends and family as their faces light up to see them re-live our memories.  It's an honor and blessing being a wife, mom, sister and friend.  Documenting our blessed life feeds my soul - so I'm leaving them a legacy of memories while reliving these memories.

Whooo's in the Wood hand-stamped CardMaking tutorial

Do you ever see those gleaming, colorful spots of light at night and get a start?  It's simply the eyes of the critters out and about, checking me out as I go on a walk.  This hand-crafted card was inspired by those critters and their eyes peaking out at me from the dark.  With a fun punch-art aspect, this knot in the wood has you wondering whoooooo's in it - lol.  Enjoy this whimsical hand-stamped, punch-art card that is perfect for Halloween or any time you want to say helloooooo!
Create this Owl punch-art card with:
Hardwood background stamp (wood 133032/clear 133035)
And Many More stamp set (wood 134273/clear 134276)
Crumb Cake card stock (120953)
Crushed Curry card stock (131173)
Early Espresso card stock (119686)
Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack (130132)
Early Espresso ink pad (126974)
Owl Builder punch (118074)
1-3/4" Circle punch (119850)

These little eyes are almost spooky - lol.  So cute - I love how they 'glow' in the knot in this wood.  Simply punch the eyes in Crushed Curry and Early Espresso card stock twice (once for the outside and one for the inside).  Using the fine tip of the Mulitpurpose Liquid Adhesive you can adhere them to the 1-3/4" Circle Punch in the Early Espresso card stock.

Stamping the Hardwood background stamp on the Crumb Cake card stock in the Early Espresso ink pad allows for a great nature inspired base to this card.
Inside the cutest Owl awaits!  Using the Owl Builder Punch and this sheet of Early Espresso patterned Designer Series Paper (from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack) he's a stylish punch-art waiting to wish youooooo a Happy Halloween!  Whooooo - Youooooo?? Yes!! (te, he, he, he)

Add him to a limb with the stamped sentiment from the And Many More stamp set.  Stamping the sentiment first allows for a proper placement of the punch-art owl.  I chose the Happy Halloween (for the Boo-Tastic Crafternoon Card Making class) but really, any sentiment would work - from 'Whoooo's having a birthday to a simple 'Hi'!  (Did YOU miss out on this cool class??  Sign Up and RSVP for my upcoming classes - join in on the fun!)

This cute spin on what you may see in nature is sure to delight all whooo receive it!  Sending a fun hand-stamped card to celebrate life is a fun way to cheer one another up!  This hand-crafted, punch-art card was surprisingly easy and fun to create.  I love nature and incorporating it into my crafting and card making is a fun way to share this with others.

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
