Washi My Bible, my adventures in bible journaling

I love Bible Journaling.  I do.  I struggle with drawing inside my bible, except notes, until I found the Beautiful Word Bible, Coloring Bible.  Squeee!  It's so pretty!  I took my bible up a notch with this fun technique.  I can't wait to do my daughter's.  See this fun tutorial and video!

I just love the Washi Tape that we have with Stampin' Up!.  It's so beautiful, top quality and perfectly coordinates with our pretty Designer Series Papers, inks and card stocks.
I have fallen in-love with the Beautiful Word Bible series (I grabbed one off of Amazon, the others are personalized and off of ChristianBooks).  They have some bibles with stunning artwork inside, full of color and beauty (I own two of those).  Recently they came out with a Coloring Bible.  My girls and I now each own one and find time in His Word as we color, connect and refresh (with worship music in the background).

Tool Tip Tuesday (here is TWO cool Tips for you!):
~ I don't know how you store your washi tape.  I stumbled on this cool use of an embroidery hoop.  Remove the inner hoop (with no opening).
Use the outer hoop (with a closure that makes it easy to open, add on, etc.) to store your washi tape collections!  I also use those climbing hook things if there are specific collections I love and want to take with me, on the go, for my planner, etc.  Easy Peasy and no mess or lost washi tapes.
~  Grab a Bible Mat.  Illustrated Faith created great Bible Mats to use when writing, journaling, coloring, art work, etc in your bible.  It's awesome!  So easy to use and I now own two - one for my bible I keep in my car (for note taking, doodling in church, quite moments when I can grab them) and one for my Coloring Bible.
It's like a beautiful Patchwork Quilt on my bible.  I just love it!

So easy to create, see this Video Tutorial (below) for a few minute demo (just excuse my mess - eeek!) on this way to upgrade your bible (or book of choice - though not a kindle - lol).  Thanks to my friend Connie for this idea!
~  Grab a Bible and your favorite collection of Washi Tape.
~ Line up 1/2 across the edge of each book of your bible.
~ Rub on using your Bone Folder for a good grip.
~ Wrap around and do it again on the other side of the paper.
~ Play with your patterns - have fun!

Created at a recent Project Life Kid's Club.. these girls had a blast creating on their own..  it's a ton of fun!

Lately I've been a little baren inside. Dry and tired.  My dear friend reminded me to get refreshed when I plug into His Word and time with God.  I've been intentional about doing so and am feeling way better.  Take your bible or books up a notch with this fun and easy technique.  Let me know what YOU do with your washi tape, I can't wait to see.  Remember you can join us to create and connect over card making, shop with me 24/7 and join us virtually with my fun blogging posts.

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
