Perect gift for Moms and Grandmothers

by

My mother-in-law had a recent birthday. So I decided instead of getting her something store bought, I would help my 5 yr old make his grandma something really special. We made a homemade flower pot with flowers that he made.

What we did:
We bought a miniture silver bucket ( for potted plants) and we got some of the foam for floral arrangements. We then got some moss from the craft store as well as green pipecleaners and some colored construction paper. (all of the supplies came to under $5 and I have a ton of the pipe cleaners and moss left over)

Next we: Took 2 different colors of the paper and traced his hand print on each of them and cut them out. Then we taped a pipe cleaner to the back of each.

We put the piece of foam in the bucket and pressed the pipe cleaner flowers into the foam and covered the foam with the moss.

And….presto!!! an instant flower pot with priceless flowers that will last nearly forever.

My son gave it his own twist with a permanant marker by drawing flowers on the outside of the pot and then he made a card for her as well. he drew a picture of the gift that her made for on the front of the card.

She loved it!!
