Those dreaded unfinished projects
If you’re a crafter, chances are you have unfinished projects. They may be projects that you started back when you were a beginner that you’ve now moved beyond (in terms of skills and ability) and therefore lost interest in, or they may be projects that were a bit too ambitious for a beginner that you’ve now abandoned. Or, enough time has passed that your partially completed project is not longer en vogue anymore. Bottom line: we’re talking about projects that you don’t want to ever complete (or see again).
What do you do?
Well, that depends on what it is. If it’s a knit or crocheted project, you can easily frog it (or rip it apart) and save the yarn for the next project that comes along. I find the process of frogging relaxing, especially because it represents a decision that has been made. If your unfinished project is a scrapbook or similar project, you may want to salvage the photographs and embellishments before tossing the book or pages into the recycling bin, and perhaps convert the bits and pieces you’ve kept with into cards, mini books or return the photographs to the album(s) from whence they came. The goal when laying an unfinished project to rest should be to make sure that its disposal is done in the most environmentally friendly way possible. Many of crafting’s materials are recyclable or reusable products. Please make sure only items that can’t be recycled are thrown into the garbage can.
I bet once you’ve gotten rid of a few unfinished projects, you’ll unblock your mind and allow new creative ideas to bloom.
