Living in Southern California, I don't get much time in the snow.  We love going up to Big Bear to catch some of that wintery wonder.  Creating a winter wonder scene during this hot July is a fun way to cool it down.  Creating a Masked image is an easy way to customize a winter field.

Start this snowy scene when you: 

~ Tear a long strip of paper/sticky note to create a snow scene.

~ Stamp the stunning pine tree from the Lovely As a Tree stamp set in Jet Black Stazon ink on the upper 1/3 of the Whisper White card stock in varying heights.

~  Punch a 1" Circle in the sticky note.  Cover part of the 'sky'.  I like to have the 'moon' peek through the branches of the trees.

~ Using the Stamping Sponge in the Night of Navy ink pad to create the winter night scene.

I like to alternate sides and move the sticky note so that it has interest and variety.  Sponge, close to the edge, a couple more hills of snow as you go down.  Stamp the 'Merry Christmas' from the (must-have) Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set in the Night of Navy ink pad at the bottom of the snow scene.

Add some sparkle - I LOVE the Dazzling Details glitter adhesive!!  Nooo words for the ease and fun of using this on your hand-stamped projects!  Here I added a dot to the center of the tree and snow line and using the tip of the bottle to spread it thin.  A little sparkle goes a long way to make this hand-crafted card POP!

Ok I came home from Convention and hopped into my busy life that was just back logged in my "to-do's" lol. So I slapped on some lipstick and jumped into the day. I was happy to see that it is Lipstick Day!!  Celebrate with me!! 

The Roaring 20's

Oh what great memories from the recent Inspire, Create & Share 2015 Stampin' Up! Convention!!  We had fun celebrating each other at the Roaring 20's Party where we enjoyed dolling up, Shirley Temples and big band music!  I can't wait to show YOU what I'm bringing home from convention at our upcoming Card Making Buffet THIS Friday (RSVP and Join Us!!).

Joining part of Our Team was a fun way to enjoy the convention!

Sarah and I served on our local MOMS Club board.  We were the number one, in the nation, in fundraising to support ministries in need.  Taking our friendship and service to the next level, Sarah joined My Gettin' Crafty Stampin'  Team and we now continue our friendship as our kids have gotten too old for the 'Moms Club'.

I love crafting and doing what we do.  Connecting others while making connections ourselves!

MC... our beloved Mariacristina is one of my favorite people in the whole world and she's ON MY TEAM!!  How awesome is that??  As a nurse by day, mom and wife at all times and an amazing crafter by night... she's the full package of awesomeness!

We missed a big chunk of our team that couldn't make it to Convention.  Taking the challenge to celebrate for them was a whoot!  A rag-tag bunch of fly dames (lol) we rocked the Roaring 20's in style!!

Rawr Dinosaur hand-stamped card

RAWRRRRRR!!  I remember in high school watching the first Jurassic Park movie at a drive in (one of the last that was around).  The fog had just rolled in when the T-Rex popped his head onto the screen with a loud RAWR!!  The timing, the scene and the whole drive-in was shaking with fear!!  It was the best movie (at the time) and a decent translation from the book (I always read the book before watching a movie based on it).  This new No Bones About it stamp set was a MUST on my to-get list!!  With Jurassic World now out - it's PERFECTLY timed (like the fog and T-Rex) to pop into our lives!  Enjoy this fun hand-crafted card that we did at our recent Stamper's 10 Club that translated to a fun SWAP at the upcoming Inspire, Create, Share Stampin' Up! OK so I love a good surprise!  Here a simple scoring will create this cool 'reveal' type card!  The Simply Scoring Tool makes it easy to score your card stock (along the 11" side) at 2-1/2 and 9-1/2" then cut across it at the 4-1/4" mark to create two perfectly scored cards that will have a cool door/tri-fold effect.  I actually LOVE using the Simply Scoring Tool to score ALL of my cards - it makes for a crisp and more professional look!

Having this fun bone/skeleton rubber stamped image appear on the inside flap is a nice surprise to who ever receives it.  Using the Stampin' Sponge to make the edges distressed is easy to do!  After stamping the dinosaur and skeleton on Very Vanilla with the Garden Green and Chocolate Chip ink pads, use the sponge along the 2-1/2" circle punched images and outside of the closed card for a rougher look!

With coordinating ferns and track stamps you are limitless in how you create your hand-stamped card. 

My 9 year old daughter stepped up HUGE in helping me to stamp 50 of these Jurassic themed cards.  My 7 year old daughter even sponged the circles and edges!  My hubby helped me to 'fix' the dinosaurs that covered the words - lol - as I had a two classes and a luncheon to attend this past weekend (before heading off to Utah).  I love that crafting is LIMITLESS in age and ability - we can all have fun rubber stamping and creating something awesome!

I love a good pun - this cute No Bones About It is a fun sentiment on the inside of the card!  I'm stumped, at times, what to write on the inside of cards.  Having a sentiment gives my brain a break on witty things to say - lol.

Send a dinosaur in the mail!!  I discovered dinos in kindergarten and shocked my family as I quoted the full names of big prehistoric creatures that I became fascinated with.  My kids didn't learn about dinosaurs in school during elementary but I love introducing the past to my children with the aide of museums!  So for the kids in your life or the kid-at-heart (hello, everyone is going to see the Jurassic World Movie) this hand-stamped card is full of surprises that are sure to delight!  Join us at club, at our in-person, to-go and on-line classes and send some love into the world (it's fun to surprise others with what you create!).

Create a clean, focal point hand stamped card.  Use the Medium Star Punch to create this pretty hanging ornament.  Stamp this And Many More sentiment in White Craft Ink on the Basic Black card stock.

With the 1/8" Silver Ribbon and pull it taunt at the top of the star and adhesive it using the strong Fast Fuse Adhesive in the back.  Tie a bow with the same ribbon and apply it on-top.  Using the Stampin' Dimensional adhesive to adhere the Dazzling Details Glimmer Paper behind the punched star and then to the four corners of the punched card.

A simple card can still be fun!  Simply framing this fun Big News rubber stamped birthday wish with joyous paper you don't have to do a ton to make a statement.  (It's also a way to use scraps of paper and to get the most out of your paper as this is only a 1/2"!)

With the new Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper stack I have a great variety of festive and celebration type images in one pad of pretty double sided paper!  I love how they perfectly coordinate with our inks and papers.

OK so you can't mail a lit candle - lol.  You can create a candle that will never go out, though!  

Using a 2" x 1" piece of the Cherry On Top stack, roll the edges of the 2" side with your Bone Folder (like you'd do on a ribbon on a gift package).  

Once you have broken down the fibers to do as you wish adhere a glue dot to one corner and apply your folded Gold 1/8" ribbon (it's so shiny!!) to create a loop (that will become your 'flame'). 

Roll the paper with the ribbon tucking into the inside to create a small tube.  

Apply three Glue Dots along the edge of the paper and adhere to create the candle!  Super easy and yes even my kids can do it, it's fun too!

Start with the chevrons that are created when using the Banner Triple punch.  I created so many that it was a shame to toss away these cute shapes!  Instead, layer them and turn it into a focal point on a hand-crafted card.  Glue Dots work wonders to hold them together and easily adhere them to your card.

Take this cute card up a notch.  I had extra die-cut butterflies (see the book mark for an example and tutorial).  Using them on this cute card takes it up a layer (or two when you use the wax paper piece).  

Say it out loud!  Show someone that they are the best.  From an accomplishment to just being themselves... it's great to show someone how amazing they are.  Using the White Craft ink pad it pops with a chalk board type feel on this Basic Black card stock.  POP it up with our Stampin' Dimensional adhesive for additional depth.  This Friendly Wishes stamp set is ideal in sending a hand-stamped card to cheer on that special person!

The new Banner Triple punch is a great tool everyone needs!!  I love it!  Here creating three banners using the punch in 2", 1-1/2" and 1" I actually cut and scored the card stock - punching the edges at the same time!!  Banners are so fun, on trend and easy to use in crafting!

Die-Cutting this new Bold Butterfly thinlits creates a delicate and pretty lacy paper butterfly with ease!  I will advise using thinlits, like this, in a sandwich of:

Magnetic Platform & a Cutting Plate

Card Stock

Wax paper

Thinlits

Cutting Plate

this allows the delicate lacy lines to pop out with ease and the little chad like pieces to pop out like a breeze!  I do use a toothpick to pop out the butterfly pieces and even use the Wax Paper piece as a gossamer effect.  (See more tutorials on the Basics of Stamping when you click here!)

Add color when you use the Dauber in  the Calypso Coral ink pad for a coordinated look.  Using the Handheld Stapler is ideal as it has a longer reach and smaller stapler all of which is perfect for crafting!!  I stamped the butterfly pieces onto the banner punched pieces that I'd threaded onto the paper clip.  Covering the staple (to protect fingers and books) with the last banner is a simple technique that is easy to do.
