Elegant and Simple, Rockin and Rollin...

Elegant and Simple... The Theme behind this cute card. I challenged myself to make a quick 10 minute card and this is what I came up with.

I cut a Bashful Blue paper into a 6x3 card... Stamping the Baroque Motifs medallion into the Bashful Blue stamp pad... then Rock and Roll the edges in the Chocolate Chip... stamp it on Very Vanilla and Cut out. Center it w/ the Rhinestone brad in Lt. Blue for a lil sparkle. Wrap the ribbon and tie a luscious bow and then using the brad - and mini glue dots - adhere the medallion in the center... easy peasy and pretty!!

I love it - it's perfect for babies, weddings and birthdays... sans a sentiment on the front, simply write inside what you feel.

Recipe:
Stamps: Baroque Motifs
Paper: Bashful Blue, Very Vanilla
Inks: Chocolate Chip and Bashful Blue
Accessories: Lt. Blue Ice Rhinestone Brad and Vanilla Organza Ribbon

Challenge: Using a Simple Stamp Set - how can you make an Elegant Card??

Lovely as a Tree in Toille

I LOVE nature and toille... so I decided to combine the two. Using the wonderful Color Wheel I snagged my Bravo Burgundy and went to see what would be a perfect mix. Using the Natural White paper, with the lil flecks of 'nature' in it... sigh....

Simply alternate stamping the leaves in the matching colors of Bravo Burgundy, So Saffron and Garden Green. Stamping on a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" piece of paper. Remember to Stamp Off your leaves so that they look like they are falling off of the paper.

Taking your Cut and Folded Bravo Burgundy paper - Cut off the lower portion of the front of the card. (I left behind a 1 inch border/top). A warm words sentiment would fit perfectly next to the layered Tree.

Set in and adhere behind the Top your stamped Naturals Paper, Layer your Garden Green, Burgundy and Stamped Tree Naturals and... you've created a similar feel to a Toille Back grounded Material.

Recipe:
Stamps: Lovely as a Tree (Warm Words will work w/this card, too...)
Inks: Bravo Burgundy, Garden Green and So Saffron (Stamp Words on Burgundy in Gold ink)
Papers: Bravo Burgundy, Garden Green and Naturals White

In Prep for the upcoming Fall Season ~ What would YOU do?? Can you do Lovely As a Tree differently for the Fall? ~ Jamie

Spot Light What Matter's Most

Hey gang... I love to stamp.. I love to learn new techniques often and try them out... Every Class I teach and workshop I do - I try to wrap my cards around a theme and that could be a technique, stamp set or color. Here I'm showing some fun cards, one of which I did for my Step-daughter's 20th Bday, and then used them at a workshop for a friend who loves our Bold Brights line and this technique promotes the sale of our amazing punches... see below my how-to... I"ll be doing a tutorial early this next week.

Technique: Spot Light

I used punches to highlight a portion of a page... so I stamped the image in one color and using our Color Wheel (one of my favorite tools) I highlighted in a coordinating color a part of that same image. In the Orange I used the coordinating blue to stamp and paper coordinate.. to tie in the butterfly and make it POP.

On the Yellow I highlighted the Single flower using our markers and our tag punches. That was a large workshop for punches and markers... and one of my favorite card styles to do. Yellow and Black is so sharp - very my style and reminds me of Jr. High clothes I wore - that are coming back (eek!) But it showed my daughter how she stands from the crowd... she loved it and the coordinating bag that I made for her gifts. (Bonus - these cards are quickies - perfect for a workshop, class or just getting a card done for someone special and ANYONE can do them.)

You try it... grab your color wheel and make the colors pop - try using colors that may not be your favorite - you may fall in love and not expect it!! Who said a card has to be complicated to be special - sometimes it's the simple moments/cards in life that you cherish the most.

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
