File it under... Celebrate!

I've taken this year and started to get ORGANIZED!!  It's so exciting to actually find my files where I want them - when I need them (for home and business)!!  Then again... my husband and kids received the memo but ignore it - lol.  So as I attempt to get the whole family organized (sigh, lol) I couldn't resist creating this fun card that celebrates... organization, cuteness and someone's special day!

What do you think??  Leave me a comment and let me know.  Share, Pin, Email, Facebook, Google+ and Tweet it, let's include others in the fun!!
OK Ohhhh and Aweee with me over the cuteness of this tiny file folder I created with the New and Awesome Envelope Punch - and don't you just LOVE the matching envelope?? sigh...
With the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper is Bold, Bright and Fun... perfect to honor a celebration of a birthday!!  Here the paper coordinates with the Mosaic Madness Bundle (#132733 Stamp set and coordinating punch for a 15% discount!!).  Embossing the Quatrefancy paper with the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (#113439) and the coordinating Modern Mosaic embossing folder (#129984) for a fun texture addition.

Cutting a standard card size of 4-1/4" x 11".  Score and fold in 1/2 at the 5-1/2" point.  Creating the cute tabs is oh so easy with the new and awesome Envelope Punch (#133774).  I can't wait for my upcoming Push the Envelope class (RSVP's required by this Friday 9/20) and with in-person or virtual options - no matter where you are or when you can attend and learn the great techniques while the class includes ownership of the Punch!!
Applying an additional bottom core at an 1/4" you will allow for the addition of gift cards or cash and even look more like a real file folder!!

Here the two tab card accommodates the Hostess Exclusive Express Yourself (#130339) stamp set on each tab... the Celebrate sentiment has a '...' for the second tab's Happy Birthday sentiment. I love the addition of bling and sparkle using our Rhinestone Basic Jewels (#119246) in varying sizes for a cool addition.
Incorporating a small Mosaic inside continues the fun and continuity of the card.
I can see using this in a small file folder box with reminders of birthdays... what a fun way to get more out of a card and yet stay organized!!
Bold colors, stamped and punched raised with the aide of our Stampin' Dimensional adhesive (#104430) and dashes of sparkle rock!
Tucked into a coordinating envelope, created with the new Envelope Punch, is a fun way to have a card get you excited before you even open it!!  The Envelope Punch allows you to create 66 varying sizes of envelopes that you can mail or hand deliver, how cool is that?!?!
Perfect fit, bold, bright and fun... the envelope closes and accommodates the cool card inside!  Created so quickly and easily with the envelope punch - I created this envelope in under a minute and the WOW results are sure to last a long time!!
Our double sided designer paper allows you to have an automatic liner that coordinates inside of it!!  I love that our products makes meeee look good!

Inks I'm using are Island Indigo (#126986), Daffodil Delight (#126944) and Strawberry Slush (#131178) as they coordinate perfectly with the Quatrefancy paper on the Pool Party card stock (#122924) and Whisper White card stock (#100730).
Two Tabs - I can't wait to set up my index box to store gift lists, ideas and birthday calendars!  Taking this card and re-using, re-purposing it for continued organization and style!!

Splash of Color

Have you ever started a project and
wondered at the results?!?!
HERE is a fun spin on a technique I did that I call 'Stained Glass'.  I changed it up and am In-Love with the results... but like some deep loves, they took time to come about.
My dear friend and stamper, Christine, came to play on her birthday.  We were using the Stained Glass technique with the Sunflower Background Stamp (Idea Book).  This stamp is loaded with extremely fine lines.  Fine lines can/will blur when heat embossed.  This makes it challenging.
I decided that it would be fun to play with the technique and the embossing powder colors.

On Vellum Card Stock, using Versa Mark stamp pad and the Sunflower Background Stamp with Clear Embossing Powder and our Heat Gun (all from the Idea Book & Catalog).
Clear embossing Powder looks pretty cool.  Painting with the Aqua Pen and Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie re-inkers the image does not come out in grand detail.  But the details that dooooo come out, the bold colors, the clear glass look?!?
WOW!

Christine and I were stumped...
WHAT do we lay it on?!?!
Now, mind you, this was after 8pm and we were both a little blurry eyed - lol.  We tried several backgrounds, Specialty Designer Series Paper, Crumb Cake...
Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie... these two were our more 'favorites' but after creating the Stained Glass look, we were stumped on what do do with this... it was vastly different and yet, the same technique!
See MORE detailed instructions on how-to do this technique with my Award Winning Stained Glass Butterfly card by Clicking HERE.

Leaving the embossed and colored Vellum card stock out over night, I placed this on the back burner...
to create this the next day!
I knew that Vanilla wouldn't do but Daffodil Delight was not as dark as others while reflecting color through and enhancing the 'splashed' (Aqua Painted on colors).  The gloss of the Clear embossed pattern allows for the colors to lay in the non-embossed areas...

I debated the using the Cute Clips (see the card on the right on Daffodil Delight).  This word bubble from the Hung Up version of the Cute Clips (Spring Mini) was a temptation.
But, like Coco Chanel often said, take the last accessory off and your outfit is complete...
I figured I did not need it to 'speak' this sentiment.

Stamping 'Laughter is the shortest distance between two people' by Victor Borge (Spring Mini ~ Feel Goods stamp set).  It fits PERFECTLY in the Apothecary Accents Framelits that, with the Big Shot, create great shapes!

Victor Borge is a favorite performer of mine.  My father would sit up at night, waiting for me to return home from work, and we would often watch Victor Borge perform on late-night television.
My son picked the Espresso button from the Neutrals Designer Series Buttons collection (Idea Book & Catalog).  He said that Sunflowers have brown centers for the seeds.  Don't you just love it that he is so simple in his vision?  I do.

The Daffodil Delight flower buttons, from the Brights Designer Series Buttons collection (Idea Book & Catalog).  This fills the niche on the punched sentiment perfectly.
Allow the edges to curl, from the water and heat.

Sometimes, the best comes from just trying something new, and seeing past what looks like less than
to seeing the true beauty of it in a new light.

THIS may now be my favorite card.
Something wild, fun and funky... full of color.
The Sunflower is clear and different...

Have YOU Tried your embossed images in different embossing powder looks?  What fun the results can be.  A pleasant surprise!!  Fall in LOVE with Embossing.  Our Versa Mark, Embossing Powders and NEW Heat Gun make your crafts come to life, some times in new and unexpected ways.

What do YOU think of this card?!?!
Leave me a Comment and let me know!  Thanks!!

World Treasures

I mentioned, back when on vacation, how much I love the peacock and our new stamp set World Treasures! This card was inspired by an antique peacock from the 1800s at the Big Bear museum.

With a fun technique, Rock N Roll, I stamped this peacock in Pool Party ink and then rolled the edges in Pacific Point blue. Alllllways stamp in a lighter color then roll into a darker... This will prevent the colors from changing as the dark will absorb the light but would alter the stamp pad if I did it the other way. (I have a video tutorial that I did and I did a card upload with a flower stamp, earlier in June, that did this technique with Pretty In Pink and Razzelberry inks.)

The colors from this card was pulled from the International Bazaar Designer Series Paper (pgs 162+ in our Idea Book). I then used the Razzelberry ink to stamp the sentiment on the Pool Party paper. With our amazing Apothecary Accents Framelits and Big Shot I the punched it out with ease! Using my Stampin Dimensionals I adhered the ruffled Pool Part ribbon down then used more to adhere the sentiment. I used our Scallop Edge Border punch I edged the International Bazaar paper. I'm not sure but the paper seems to have leaves where I used it like they were feathers... I'm just cool like that (lol).

A lil dash of glitter with our glitter glue and it is a fun, bright and sassy Peacock card that will brighten anyone's day! I hope you enjoy!

Here is the peacock vacation info:

Stamp the Solid Image in lighter color - here I used Pool Party ink
Stamping an image that can be cut out with punches or our Big Shot is a great way to look sharp!
Rock the Edges in a darker color to get a verigated look... I love doing this Rock n Roll technique!
Roll the edges of a lighter inked image into a darker ink... it self verigates and looks gteat!  Make a BIG Impression with this simple technique!
BAM!  Stunning, Lovely and Easy... Nothin' Better!!!

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
