Another of my swaps... Going lacy

Did I mention that I LOVE our Color Coach?? I may start out with a color and then find the coordinating colors for the card (or outfit lol)

Here I started with Crumb Cake ink and Paper and the Color Coach showed Chocolate Chip as the monochromatic color balance for it.

With our new Delicate Doily Sizzlits, the Big Shot and the Delicate Designs Folder helped to create this lovely card. I punched out the doilies in both both Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake. I ran the Chocolate Chip paper thru the folder to create the lacy edge. I thought the larger doily was too plain do I stamped, with Crumb Cake, the Gossamer Lace lil stamp. Sooo cute and it really tied it all together.

The crochet lace ribbon we sell sealed the deal. I alternated the doilies and created this card. I stamped the sentiment and punched it out with our Decorative Label punch. I stamped the Gossamer lace over the Garden Green sentiment from the Perfectly Penned greeting set.

I hope you feel all lacy. I love this new line of lace and doilies, don't you??

During convention people asked if Arabella helped stamp my cards. Lol. My 6yr old,Genevieve, and hubby pushed the lil chads out of the punched doilies with our stylus. My 4 yr old, Carina, ran about picking up the 45 cards worth of chads that ended up on the floor and not in my trash bibs. Lol. My 14 month old helped turn the handle on the Big Shot. My 8 yr old son, Sal, skateboarded outside telling me that this card was too girly. Lol. They all help, in their own way.

Make Someone Laugh Day!

Did you know that July 30th is Make Someone Laugh day!???!! Love it! So what is your favorite clean joke?? The best one receives a gift from me!

Here is a cute one (thanks YoKids yogurt sticks from my freezer lol):

Where do milk shakes come from?? Nervous cows! Lol

What do cows wear in Hawaii?? Moo-moos!

Why did the cow eat a Chocolate bar?? She wanted to make chocolate milk!

Anddd

What band is a cow's favorite?? The Moo-dy Blues!

Have a laugh on me! Hugs!

Sweet Poppy Day!

Watching the Olympic Opening Ceremonies I fell In Love with the stunning Poppies on display! Bright Red with dark black centers, sigh...

So for my class at the Borchard Center this past weekend I made this card from the inspiration... What do you think??

I used the (amazing, fun and easy) Color Coach to pick out a bright color palate. I used the Pumpkin Pie paper and stamped the Pleasant Poppies background stamp in Basic Black ink. Using the fine end of my Real Red Stampin' Write Marker to re-line the poppies with that POP of red! The great thing about the markers is the tips, two amazing tips with a paintbrush and a pen side. I used the smaller pen side to tie into the fine line of the Stamp.

The Decorative Label punch fit the smaller words on the Loving Thoughts greeting stamp. I used Stampin' Dimensional adhesive to allow the sentiment to stand on its own. The Real Red 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon really tied it all together!

I hope you enjoy this card and that it brightens your day! Blessings!

Comfort Cafe Woodland card

I'm really NOT a flowery or Soft Suede kind of girl. Buttttt I pulled out my color wheel, this Woodgrain background stamp and my Designer Series Paper chart.

It alllll pulled together with our new Summer Starfruit paper and Stitched ribbon. The Comfort Cafe DSP is really lovely (in small doses, lol) with its vintage color palate and theme.

Here is Chocolate Chip ink stamped Woodgrain backdrop stamp. (pg 127 of the 2012 Idea Book). I then punched out these butterflies from the Comfort Cafe DSP and adhered them with Stampin' Dimensional. I used Snail adhesive to hold the ribbon then the Dimensional to make the Petite Pairs sentiment Pop up. The Postage punch really fits its size to a T.

A fun and easy card! I was happily surprised at the results and how much I liked it! Want to snag your own vintage/retro natural card?? Let's set up a Private Class or join in one of my classes in the Conejo Valley!

If you find larger/background stamps a challenge?? Use the side stamped that you don't like on the back! Cute! Popping the sentiment and an extra butterfly on the inside really allows for you to tie the theme in. Placing a Summer Starfruit punched butterfly on the envelope sneaks a bit of fun in too!

Cool Tools!

I grew up watching and loving Tim Allen as the bumbling handyman/tool man Tim/Dad. Who knew that they made such great tools for us girls!

These were some of the goodies I nabbed at the Stampin' Up! 24th Annual Convention this year! I love, love, love these cutie patooties! What do you think??

Tools for around the house and even the coolest water bottle in Midnight Muse!!! (Growing up this what I dreamed my first vintage mustang or truck would be painted!!! Almost black but luscious blue!!). Now I have a new friend to take to my 5am workouts! Today was Abs with Sharlene, tomorrow Melinda and I will do Spin with the amazing Sharlene!

Gooooo for the gold!! Hmmmm what to hammer or measure around here?? My girls have measured the doors, our dogs head and my foot... Lol.

Advertise!!

I do love that older movie (Disney?) Newsies! One summer my family and I watched it over n over, we could (and did) quote this great movie. Many big actors came out of it, too!

So I was soooo very excited to see the new Advertising Campaign that Stampin' Up! Is doing.

See these ads and where they will be! If you see it, let me know and receive a Free Prize!!

Now, back in the day, the only advertising was by word of mouth! Eek! We talk less and less these days and I realize that I am not telling enough people about my Stampin' and the amazing products we offer! Hmmm, don't be surprised if you hear about it, more often, now.

What do you think of these ads and where you may see them?? Let me know! Oh, want a special goodie?? For every friend you refer to me you can earn a Frequent Buyer Point! Whoot! Whoot! They add up and quickly, so don't miss out!

Mini me??

Ok so my kids are real lil mini me's. Whether its looks or personality i love when I see a bit of me in them! We planned out this summer and found that we all would rather Sea World and Lego land to Disneyland! Who knew a kid wouldn't pick Disney?!?!!

I wanted to give my kids a dash of Disney for the summer and this quickly became a swap for Convention! I had people tracking me down!! Seriously asking if I was the Mini Mouse lady!! Made me laugh!! I felt soooo good too!

I was holding this paper when a call came in from a neighbor who wanted this paper! Sooo trippy! She had me order her some and I made this card! What do you think??

I planned to use our Real Red button from the Brights set. When I decided to make it a swap?? I realized that I didn't have 24+ lil red flower buttons! So hmmmm what to do, what to do?!?? I tried the clear buttons but that was not as cute!

So out came my punch bin and I realized that the lil flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack!! So stinkin' precious!! It works, it was unlimited in what I could punch (Seriously, howwww many can one get from an 8 1/2" x 11" paper?? Tons!!)

This easy card really is ideal with the use of our Simply Scored (sooo easy and fun too! I scored the whole 12x12 sheet of Real Red from the Polka Dot Parade paper. The white cardstock is fun after being run through the Perfect Polka Dots Folder and my Big Shot! It now emulates the polka dots on the DSP! Creating the Mini Mouse with 1" & 1/2" black punched circles, could it get any easier??

Remember that Hot Glue allows for the scored and folded lil "lolly" to stay where you want it! I used it to assemble the Mini Mouse and flower too! Sentiments were easy and fun with both the new Itty Bitty or the label words. I hope you feel a lil bit of Disney with this card, I sure do! Want to play?? Let's talk!

(This is such an I Am Savvy card or an I Am Having Fun card, isn't it?!? Lol)

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
