Hello Kitty is, again, all the rage! I remember when she made her first appearances and my owning a full stationary set, including stamps! (I was in Elementary/Jr. High?? and my love of paper raged even then!!) So celebrating my girl's 8th birthday this past weekend We gave her this cute card to tie into her Hello Kitty Gumball machine! Join me in making this Framelit/Punch-Art card to sweeten the day!
Create this card with:
Whisper White card stock (#100730)
Basic Black card stock (#121045)
Strawberry Slush card stock (#131295)
Strawberry Slush ink (#131178)
Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper (#130141)
Large Pearl Jewels (#125577)
Aqua Painters (#103954)
Scallop Oval Punch (#119856)
Small Oval Punch (#120908)
Ovals Collection Framelits (#129381)
Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (#113439)
Big Shot Magnetic Platform (#130658)
Permanent Markers & Hot Glue
Using the Ovals Framelits and Whisper White card stock I punched out the large Hello Kitty face and smaller one oval for the ears. Cutting the smaller in half and apply from behind so that the ears peek through.
Cutting 1/4" x 1-1/2" strips of Basic Black card stock for the whiskers. Accent the ears and small mouth with the Strawberry Slush ink and Aqua Painter. (My daughter advised me that Hello Kitty doesn't have a mouth in any of her picutres... lol, geesh.)
Color in the adhesive backed Large Pearls that you colored in with Permanent Markers for the eyes, nose and on her bow.
Layer this kitty over the Strawberry Slush card stock and differently patterned Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper.
Create this cute 'bow' with two punched Quatrefancy Scallop Punched Ovals. Fold them in 1/2 nad using Hot Glue then facing each other for this bow look. Taking the Small Quatrefancy Oval and cover the center and hold while drying/cooling.

This sweet kitty is an ideal card for a pretty 8 year old's birthday! Punch Art (here with Framelits and Punches) can be a fun way to play with your paper while delivering smiles!! When stamps can't provide the ideal image, create it with paper! I can't resist giving some of my childhood memories to my little girls... and this card, Hello Kitty and all, is just the right way to do so (while still being 'cool').
