Have you ever received a bouquet of amazing flowers and it hit you, that you are blessed and loved beyond measure??
THIS is what my Gettin' Crafty Stampin' Family is to me. A beautiful collection of smart, soft, colorful, beautiful, festive, mood-lifting and fabulous women who bless me beyond measure!!
ROAD TRIP!!
A gaggle of us gorgeous ladies gathered together. We jumped into my car at bright and early 8am to drive up to the Antelope Valley so we can create and connect with a branch of our awesome Gettin' Crafty Stampin' Family.
I started my crafting and card making business while I lived in Quartz Hill, CA over 11 years ago. Sarah and I were long-time friends who served on our Moms Club of Quartz Hill together. We still craft and connect while being part of the same crafting family!!
Bringing our Creative Connections class to the Antelope Valley was so much fun. My old stomping grounds. Having an amazing brunch, card class and more... we left feeling blessed, loved and connected.
My Angels. These girls.. oh they are so very dear to me. Friends. Brought together in life, connected as we create and walk through life together.
Poppies.
California (if you hadn't heard) has suffered a brutal drought. It's actually a drought prone state. This year we were blessed with a deep freeze and cold winter and buckets of water (aka rain, lol). This wet stuff (he, he, he) had my kids and I dancing under the beauty of it.
There is a natural Poppy Preserve (Poppies are the California State Flower) in the Antelope Valley - we had to extend our trip to enjoy the fields of yellow, purple and orange blossoms.
Little known facts: Poppies need a freeze to fracture the shell of the seed to bloom. They crave fresh rain and blossom even in the midst of heavy, brutal winds. These delicate and beautiful flowers can withstand and even grow in the midst of being broken, drowned and blown fiercely. ~ It is a beautiful image, isn't it? Can you, like me, relate?
It was not Thelma and Louise but it was an adventure. I just love my crafting family.
I can't sing well - I like to sing but know that I am not that talented (even if my babies love hearing me sing).
I can sing the praises of my Gettin' Crafty Stampin' Family though. We gather each month to create Soldier Cards and Cards for Children's Hospital. We send care packages. The ladies have surprised soldiers with hand made wedding cards for those deployed. Sending care packages to families in need. They support one another, creating deep friendships that becomes so much more.
It is a beautiful thing what happens when people gather to create, connect, grow and live life together. Join the fun - see why this special group of ladies (and men) are amazing.
Stamping Blessings,
Jamie
