As a homeschooling, work at home, small farm working mom... I live a busy but oh-so-blessed life! Here is a snippet of the new life with this season of baby goats.
Our small farm has four female does that range from one to two years of age - ish and one buck. This year, so far, three of the girls have delivered 10 kids (baby goats), though sadly one didn't make it.
Our day is all about milking, bottle feeding, cleaning pens, homeschooling, training for a 5K, working from home, eating healthy, etc. These cute babies will just melt your heart! With one mom fighting mastitis, we've had to up our work, I'm even acting like a vet with administering shots, heat packs and extra care. These past weeks has delivered freezing nights (an oddity here in California), heavy rains, our solar tube pouring water across my stamping table, roofers, sinks breaking, plumbers... eek! Working the farm has us in thick mud encased rain boots and it does make for a bit more of a challenge, not that we are complaining!
The fires that hit our community at the end of last year now brings mud slides and a majority of Californians who don't know how to drive lol. The kiddos are joining me as we train with our church group in a Run for God 5k 12 week training. Rain, sunshine, winds.. we are still working it. Homeschooling is extra fun as we use Classical Conversations curriculum, partner with other moms and learn along side of our kids (Latin, debate and so much more!).
I'm going to be posting, soon, the baby goats up for sale.. we will only fix and keep one buck to be a companion to his dad ( our grey and white buck named Marshmallow) - so saying good-bye to 8 four legged, furry, snugly kids will be a challenge. Soon to start making cheese and soaps.. it's a fun way to teach the kids how to be independent.
I am so glad to be back to blogging, crafting, a full line-up of fun classes. This is my ME time, time to create and connect with others over crafting and card making.
Join us for crafting and stamping...
I hope this snippet of our blessed but busy lives brings a smile to your face!
