Rain in Southern California

I love rain in Southern California!  We don't get enough if it. But this morning I awoke to a down Pepper Tree (sniff, I love my tree) in my backyard. It took down our Power, Wifi and TV lines. So no blog post today.

Come and visit with me TOMORROW and Sunday at the Borchard Boutique!!

Enjoy these views of our So Cal Rain!!

Monkey Love hand-stamped punch-art card

One of my very favorite animals is the monkey.  I've collected them in stuffed animals since I was young.  So creating a fun punch-art, hand-stamped card that has these swinging buggers is a great nod to my youth.  From a congratulations, love you or celebration... this card swings by with a smile!
Create this Monkey Punch Art card with:
Chocolate Chip card stock (#102128)
Crumb Cake card stock (#120953)
Very Vanilla card stock (#101650)
Wild Wasabi card stock (#108641)
Pool Party card stock (#122924)
Neutrals Stampin' Write Markers (#131261)
Chocolate Chip ink pad (#126979)
Just Sayin' stamp set (#133203)*
Word Bubbles Framelits Dies (#132968)*
Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (#113439)
Big Shot Magnetic Platform (#130658)
Little Leaves Sizzlits (#114511)
Full Heart Punch (#119883)
2-1/2" Curcle Punch (#120906)
1" Circle Punch (#119868)
Extra-Large Oval (#119859)
Stampin' Sponges (#101610)
Stampin' Dimensional Adhesive (#104430)
Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive (#110755)
*Save 15%!!  Bundle the Just Sayin' stamp set and Word Bubbles Framelits Dies (#134820) for a 15% SAVINGS (Score!)

Paired together, thanks to the aide of my Color Coach (#130118) this card has a fun mix of colors!  With a Pool Party card stock base, it looks ideal as a background for this monkey punch-art, hand-stamped card.
This monkey is easy to create!  Punching the 2-1/2" circle punch and Chocolate Chip card stock you have a cute head!  The Full Heart Punch creates the face with the Crumb Cake card stock.  The Mouth/Nose with the Large Oval Punch and the ears with the 1" Circle Punch.  EASY and Cute... perfect way to swing by with some love!!
This 'Mona Lisa' or Monkey Lisa (lol) smile is easy to create!  Using the Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker (from the Neutrals collection) I curved the smile and nostrils.  Even being easy, I had to flip the card stock over after my first attempt!  Luckily paper/card stock is two sided... so I can make a 'boo boo' and flip her over!!

(The reason I looooove stamping is that I'm not a great drawing artist... so even a simple line or two can cause me stress... sigh.)

Add dimension and definition!  Using the Chocolate Chip ink pad and Stampin' Sponge, I soften the edges of the Crumb Cake card stock pieces.  This helps the layers have definition while adding dimension and shadow.  Adhere the pieces together with the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.  Raise the mouth (Large Oval Punched Crumb Cake) above the face with the Stampin' Dimensional Adhesive.
Create these cute branches with the Little Leaves Sizzlits and my Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.  The Wild Wasabi is perfectly paired with these colors.

Using the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive gives me the ability to glue down the thin branches and yet allow a few leaves to raise and look 'real'.
The Word Bubbles and Just Sayin' stamp set, from the new Occasions 'Let's Celebrate' mini catalog are adorable!!  Make ANYTHING say what you want (from pictures in your scrapbook to card and paper-crafting projects).  Here the 'Love Ya' says it all!

This Just Sayin' and Word Bubbles are a great savings at 15% OFF when you BUNDLE them!

You make me happy hand-stamped watercolor card

Color is so in and I couldn't be happier!!  This year the introduction of color back into my crafting (and wardrobe) has me doing the happy dance!  This quick, cute 4" square hand-stamped card has a fake you out watercolor look that embraces color while being cute!  So tie one on and create this cute frame card with me (ribbon, tie, lol)
Create this card with:
Happy Watercolor stamp set (#133191)
Whisper White 12" card stock (#124302)
Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper (#132994)
Smoky Slate ink (#131179)
Island Indigo ink (#126986)
Daffodil Delight ink (#126944)
Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon (#125583)
Circles Collection Framelits (#130911)
Big Shot Magnetic Platform (#130658)
Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (#113439)
Stampin' Dimensional Adhesive (#104430)

Cutting this 12" Whisper White card stock gives me many cute 4" square cards per page!!  Square cards are very trendy right now and look so cute... so go ahead, use that 12" scrapbook intended paper for cards!
Cutting this Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper into a window is easy with the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Magnetic Platform and the Circles Collection Framelits.  (Don't toss this circle away, find a great way to re-use it in another project!!)

Once you cut the center out of the Watercolor Wonder, lay it down on the 4" card.  Using this as a guide, stamp the flower from the Happy Watercolor stamp set in Smoky Slate.  (Using the colors listed in the book that ties to each paper pack allows me to look coordinated and sharp.)
Layer the 'You Make Me Happy' sentiment over the stem in Island Indigo Ink.

This Happy Watercolor stamp set has a 'fake you out' watercolor stamp!  I LOVE IT!! It is supposed to not be perfect, making it perfect for me (te, he, he).  It has a ombre / variegated look pre-done so it's soft and pretty (while being trendy).

Tie it together and highlight the frame/window when you tie the Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon.  Adhere the 'frame' with our Stampin' Dimensional Adhesive.  This gives dimension and highlights the frame.

Beach day inspiration hand-stamped card

Warm days bring on the desire for some ocean life.... capturing the fun of the beach with this quick beach inspired hand-stamped card!  Have fun, whether you can hit the beach or not, and send some warm wishes with this cool and quick card!
Create this card with:
By the Seashore stamp set (#126532)
A Dozen Thoughts stamp set (#131059)
Pool Party card stock (#122924)
Pool Party ink (#126982)
Very Vanilla card stock (#101650)
Soft Suede card stock (#115318)
Soft Suede ink (#126978)
Linen Thread (#104199)
Stampin' Sponge (#101610)
Stampin' Dimensional Adhesive (#104430)
Paired together with the help of my Color Coach (#130118) these colors are warm and welcoming.  Our By the Shore stamp set is a lovely version of beach shells and critters.  Their classic look stamps well with the Soft Suede ink on the Pool Party card stock.  Layering the shells so they land on each other or flow off the page looks so good!

This stamp set is a little aged looking.  Tie this in with a slight 'softening/distressing' of the edges.  The Stampin' Sponge in Soft Suede ink along the edges gives a soft vibe to this card.
Stamp this sentiment 'You made my day.' from the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set in Pool Party ink on the Very Vanilla card stock.  The cute crab from the By The Seashore stamp set frames the sentiment with the Soft Suede ink.  Layered over the Soft Suede card stock it pulls the colors together for a cohesive look. Soften the edges of the Very Vanilla card stock with your Stampin' Sponge and the Soft Suede ink.

Tie this look together!  The rustic look to the card pulls together with the Linen Thread tied on the side.  Leaving lose the ends for a distressed beach accent.  Layer them and create depth with the Stampin' Dimensional adhesive and raise above the 'waves' (lol).
What do you think??  Please Share Me and This with a Pin, Email, Facebook post, Tweet.. and Join Me with a follow on these avenues and YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and Foursquare!  Get even MORE Gettin' Crafty Stampin' with our Exclusive Mailing List and it's many rewards!!

Go ahead, send some of the beach to your family and friends (even in the midst of winter) with this quick card.  I love cards that are fast.... this 10 minute card is ideal for a busy girl, like me.  No matter the weather outside, or if you can hit the sand, this hand-stamped card embraces the glory of the waves while delivering warm wishes!

Rule the world with coffee hand-stamped card

Ever have one of 'those' days (or lives)?  It starts off after NOT sleeping well the night before, (hubby snoring, dog whimpering, kids up and about...) this with the knowledge that you have a BIG day the next day (or upcoming days)??  Sigh... sure, we all have days like that!!  Lately, this is my life.... so creating a card that mimics my life is a therapeutic way to poke fun at it.  Send a hand-stamped, coffee cup card that encourages world domination!
Create this card with:
Perfect Blend stamp set (#131392)
Gorgeous Grunge stamp set (#130517)
Very Vanilla card stock (#101650)
Baked Brown Sugar card stock (#131296)
Baked Brown Sugar ink (#131174)
Night of Navy ink (#126970)
Etcetera Designer Series Paper (#130129)
Baked Brown Sugar Ruffled Stretch Trim (#130022)
SNAIL Simple Neat Affordable In-Line adhesive (#104332)
Stampin' Dimensional adhesive (#104430)
Sticky Strip adhesive (#104294)

Inspired by my exhaustion, lol, this cup came quick to mind!  Stamping this Perfect Blend travel mug on the Very Vanilla card stock and then again on a strip of the Etcetera Designer Series Paper.  I do trim the Etcetera paper down so it's the size of the cup cozy and won't waste much of the pretty paper!

Trim out the cup cozy and travel cup with your Paper Snips (#103579 - one of the BEST tools in paper crafting).  Layer the cozy over the cup with the SNAIL adhesive for a cute combination.
One of our strongest adhesives is the Sticky Strip adhesive.  It's a sure fire way to get most ANYTHING to stick!!  Adhere this stunning Baked Brown Sugar Ruffled Stretch Trim over a line of the Sticky Strip Adhesive.  Even tone-on-tone this ruffled trim really adds a fun feminine element to this card.

Raise the Perfect Blend hand-stamped and layered cup over the Ruffled Trim with the Stampin' Dimensional adhesive for a subtle layer and depth to this quick card. Stamp this world domination sentiment from the Perfect Blend stamp set on the card with Night of Navy ink.  This ties into the colors of the Etcetera Designer Series Paper.

I couldn't resist adding a dash of 'grunge' with these splatters (yes, the one in the Night of Navy ink was a mistake but was definitely a nod to my state of mind, lol).  Gorgeous Grunge is a wonderful stamp set that gives me the ability to add fun elements like this that ties perfectly in to the coffee filled life I'm living, lol.

Send a cup of coffee (or the thought of one) and cheer in this cute and quick hand-stamped card!  Whether it's you or a loved one who is having a hard time in life.... who may be tired, stressed or worn out... this hand-stamped coffee-cup card is sure to warm their heart!  JOIN ME in creating cards and having fun while sending cheer!  I love how card-making and paper-crafting is its own version of therapy!!

Mail a Rich Bouquet of Flowers in this hand-stamped card

Rich jewel tones can be a great way to brighten someone's day with warmth, color and beauty.  Giving jewels can be quite the endeavor... give a similar feel when you gift rich colored flowers!  Creating rich colored, hand-stamped cards and sending them is a great way to give a lasting flower.  So go ahead, send a bunch of flowers with a hand-stamped card.
Create this card with:
People Like You stamp (#133215)
Brights Designer Series Paper Stack (#130134)
Shimmery White card stock (#101910)
Basic Grey card stock (#121044)
Basic Black ink (#126980)
White Stampin' Chalk Marker (#132133)
Brights Stampin' Write Markers (#131259)
Neutrals Stampin' Write Markers (#131261)

Layer the Rich Razzleberry fan like paper from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack over the Basic Grey card stock.  This fan mimics the flower shape from the People Like You stamp.
I love that flowers often have a shimmer and extra velvety beauty... add this to your card when you use the stunning and subtle sparkled Shimmery White card stock!  The subtle shimmer is hard to photograph but adds a richness and elegance to your stamped projects!

Using the Basic Black ink and the People Like You stamp (from the Occasions 'Let's Celebrate' catalog) you stamp it on the Shimmery White card stock.

Color the blossoms in with the Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write Marker from the Brights Stampin' Write Marker collection.  Color the stem with the Old Olive from the Brights Stampin' Write Marker collection and highlight the frame on the sentiment with the Basic Grey Stampin' Write Marker from the Neutrals collection.

Accent this dark flower with loose lines that mimic the petal shape.  The White Stampin' Chalk Marker (from the Occasions Mini Catalog) is a great way to add depth and drama with your colorful or darker projects.  This effect also mimics the patterned Rich Razzleberry Designer Series paper for a beautiful coordinated look.

(One of my FAVORITE Tools is the Color Coach #130118 that aides in a color wow project.  I use it on almost every project and here the Rich Razzleberry with Basic Grey and Old Olive look amazing!)

Pulled together with a dash of sparkle, this rich bouquet of flowers is easy to send, sure to brighten the day of someone who makes the world a better place.  I love how these flowers will last and not drop any petals on my shelf (lol).  Sending rich jewel colored gifts is a great way to wow and show how much someone means to you.  Join me in creating pretty and dramatic hand-stamped cards and brightening someone's day!

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
