Simple Comfort in a Snapshot

Sometimes I feel the Season, don't you??  That weird twitch that feels like Spring, Summer, Winter or Fall... right before the actual season starts (or even in the midst of it)??  We had a weird summer, here in So. California, yesterday it was soooo overcast with rain, thunder and lightning.... I had to change from my cute dress (I love wearing dresses during the summer - sigh) into some warm, long yoga pants and my hubby's old College Football T... a friend was baking fresh bread and I warmed up a Dark Chocolate Hot Cocoa and added a splash of York Peppermint Patty creamer... we had Waffles for dinner and it was a fuzzy and snuggly evening...

Today is decidedly warmer, the sky is clear and I'm back into a sassy Tank and Short outfit... no rain in sight...  I'm still feeling yesterday's weather and how it felt Oh So Fall... I couldn't resist spending 15 minutes to craft a bit of that feeling for YOU!

OK so here is my FUN Fall Card... with our MDS2 (I'm just soooo in love with it - worth having for soooo many reasons....) and I created this Post Card.  What do you think???  Do you FEEL the Fall?? 

A Simple card to make - I need to shop for more leaves and such..... but I decided to use what I had and what came with the New My Digital Studio 2....  This Flower and Sentiment came from the included stamp set Simple Snapshot and this DSP is our Comfort Cafe design... Did you know that it has our amazing, exclusive Designer Series Papers, Embellishments, stamps, Ribbons, Accessories and MORE?!?!  Yes!  (How cool is that?!?!)

I used our Coloring tool to do a few things... first I colored the Sentiment in the Cajun Craze and the Flower as well... our New Coloring Tool allows for me to go in and change the colors with a cute lil, adjustable coloring dot - just like you'd use our Stampin' Write Markers!!  I highlighted the leaf in Artichoke, the Center in More Mustard and though it may be challenging to see, it really added a depth, I chose Early Espresso and edged the exterior of the flower and the exterior of the More Mustard Center!  Up close, it's subtle as I did a finer line by zooming in and coloring as little or as much as I'd like....

I used our Dahlia's (available in most of the colors on MDS2 where it's only In-Color in the Idea Book) and I shrank it to fit the center of the flower... I contemplated using the More Mustard, it added texture but not much definition... I tried out the Early Espresso Dahlia but thought it too dark... the Cajun Craze Dahlia keeps in the same color line...

OK so this easy card was created while my youngest two girls ran about our home chasing my 150 lb dog (Tinkerbell).  If Iiiii can do it with that going on, in 15 minutes no less.... it goes to show how fun, user friendly and easy it is.  I love that scrapbooking is easier now with Digital Photos, I can create great Memory Books for our family and friends this year - a priceless Christmas gift (Grandparents, Aunts n Uncles, etc have all they ever want - this is a gift they can't create with out yourrrr memories!!) and I'm creating (shhhh) Recipe Books for my Step daughters, Nieces and family.... the Next Generation misses out on those handed down recipes.... I want to add some photos of them and my Grandparents (who are now in Heaven) so that it's just that more special!! 

OK.... life is good.  I feel like I've been Gettin' Crafty Stampin' this morning - I have some girls coming to stamp tomorrow and I should probably clean this house - lol...... have a Fall Inspired Day, grab some Pumpkin Bread or a Pumpkin Latte (my Keurig does this year round for me but Starbucks has the Pumpkin Lattes back - go get one... lol).  I hope that YOU will carve out some YOU time today - I try to daily.  Crafting nourishes my soul.... do something to bless yourself (and others) today!

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by.
