Vera Bradley Inspirations

At my recent Spring into Summer class.. we had fun playing with our Spring Mini and all the lovely stamps, papers, accessories and more...

HERE the Swallowtail stamp is introduced.. as is the Collage Curios stamp set.  See how we had fun making this card and let me know what you think by leaving me a comment...
I'm a fashion girl... I LOVE style and fashion.  Vera Bradley was one of the name brands I came upon at a work function for my husband and cousin (they are in the same industry and were at the same function).  I fell in love with Vera's style of bold patterns, quilted style and ease of care while looking fashionable.  Thisss card is inspired by her bold use of Black, White and Yellows....
Our Daffodil Delight card stock(119683) makes for a sharp base.  Powdering the Black card stock (#121045) with our Embossing Buddy(#103083) for a primed page to create this butterfly look.  Stamping this Swallowtail background stamp (#129213) with our Versa Mark stamp pad (#102283) and then covering the sticky image with our White Embossing Powder (#109132).  Heat set with our Heat Tool/Gun (#129053).
This sharp background is accented with our Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (#119254) wrapped around the front.  Our Whisper White Baker's Twine (#124262) ties on this sweet Collage Curios (#129102) stamped and punched accent.
The White embossing really stands out on this Black base.  The subtle shine looks great, too!

Stamping the script and the circle stamp from the Collage Curios set in Black ink (#126980) on Whisper White paper (#100730).  Stamp the sweet little butterfly in the center of these stamped images with our Daffodil Delight ink (#126944).

Punch this little circle with our 1" Circle punch (#119868).  Tie the Baker's Twine on with the aide of our 1/16" Circle Handheld punch (#101227).
OK So my stampin' friend Ashley asks me the most fun questions... we have a tendency to go on these mental excursions.. lol. (luv ya Ash!)  HERE she showed me a picture of a bow created with fork tines.  So I took a moment to demonstrate how... and this bow was created!  Not one to waste such a cute creation, I added it to the center of one of the butterfly cards and LOVED the result!
I left the Baker's Twine loose and a little twisted so it had a floating look.  Adhering the punched circle down with my Stampin' Dimensional adhesive (#104430) so it stayed 'right where I tell it to' lol (unlike my kids, sigh...) this card looks like it's moving but not!

What Inspires YOU?
Clothing, Nature, Celebrations, Designers, Architecture.... the sky is the limit!

Thanks Vera Bradley for this inspiration... and I'm beyond excited about our Spring Mini!!  Sadly, many stamps (like this Collage Curios) will be GOING AWAY!!  Do you like versatile stamps that can create many different styles?!?!  Meeee Toooooo!!

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
