Ok so I do what I can to please my kids
- if we can do it, we try...
So when my daughter asked me at School on Friday, at Pick-Up if we can watch the class pet 'Pumpkin'... I said, sure, why not... it's not like one more lil critter will make much of a difference in my life.... with 6 kids (4 at home and range from 9yrs down to a very busy 2 year old)... a 150lb dog, bearded dragon lizard, Russian tortoise, koi fish...
who would notice a little hamster??
When my 2 year old started to screech, my 7 year old holding the hamster high in the sky and my 5 year old asking to hold Pumpkin... I figured the little lady needed a rescue... so she joined meeee at my stamping table... and boy was she a sweet asset to have.
When my 7 year old built a maze for Pumpkin - near our couch - all I could see was missing Pumpkin who made an escape under the couch, my 150lb German Sheppard/St. Bernard mix barking, my husband yelling - kids screaming... lol...
so my busy stamping area was waaaaay more ideal, don't you think?!?!!!
My Big Shot was a great little cubby to hide under - especially when my 2 year old screamed in glee and excitement... geesh.
Peek A Boo Pumpkin??
Mini Glue Dots have a sweet sized hamster box - lol.
Really, my stamp pads, tools, stamp sets and projects made great maze like action for this hamster..
She'd run away from the girls - and it was a hoot to see them 'hamster' block one edge of the table.. they were bothering me - so at least I focused that energy - lol..
Run Pumpkin, Runnnnnnn...
This Ginger of a hamster won over my dear friend and fellow stamper, Ashley - she'd never seen one up close so this was a treat - she did worry what her husband would say when she told him she had a new pet in mind - ha, ha, ha..
Friends don't let friends stamp alone!
Sometimes, my alone stamping and crafting time is my only 'me' time. This visit from Pumpkin was a fun diversion on a day when I felt a little under the weather.. she's safely back in her cage and my husband was surprised to learn that I signed us up for Pumpkin duty this summer - lol....
The great thing about being a mom is... if you want a pet, blame the kids! bahahahah
Happy Stamping and Crafting!!
