Simply Soho

Being a Hostess has it's benefits (Click HERE to see them!).. from Hostess Dollars to THESEeee Amazing Exclusive Hostess stamp sets!!  Here Simply Sketched (#129669) is a beautiful stamp set that I'm in love with (line drawings are one of my favorite styles of stamps) and the Hostess Sets are Full Sets at a GREAT Price Savings!!
I'm In-Love with this new Soho Subway (#130140) Designer Series Paper... a wonderful collection of bold vintage graphic designs... here it is the inspiration for this card. 

Laying on Early Espresso card stock (#119686) that I ran through my Big Shot (#113439) and our Honeycomb (#129378) embossing folder.  This graphic textured pattern is uber trendy and reminds me of a trellis in my garden... the perfect backdrop for a floral image!
Our Vellum Card stock (#101856) layers over the bold, beautiful pattern of the Soho Subway paper.  This allows the pattern to show through in a softened manner.
Heat Embossing our Earl Espresso Powder (#128980) with my Heat Tool (#129053) for a raised, sharp, rich image.  I really like how our colored embossing powders really are TRUE to color and oh so elegant!

Coloring in with our Stampin' Write Markers (the In-Color kit #126856) has the Summer Starfruit and Gumball Green Stampin' Write Markers and the paint brush tip allow for a beautiful watercolor look and accents the flower and sentiment quite easily.
Tied Up with our Early Espresso Baker's Twine (#123124) is color coordinated to match and ties it all together.  I think the twisted lines remind me (a little) of the lines in the Honeycomb embossing.
Adhering the Embossed and Colored Vellum to the Soho Subway is easy with our Glue Dots (#103683).  They do leave a little wet look.  HIDE This with our adhesive backed Pearl basic Jewels (#119247) for an rich and lustered embellishment.
 
Have fun and add small pearls in the corners of two of the embossed Honeycombs... it highlights the embossed pattern while adding whimsy.
 
With great stamps, tools, and papers... a great card can come to life!  This is SURE to win someone over.  The elegance and softening with the Vellum... the Shine of Embossing... it all pulls together.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone.
