Happy 4th of July!
Independence Day!!
I hope that you and yours are celebrating our great nation and it's birth...
Sparklers are out-lawed here in our community.. but I grew up holding those hot wire sticks as they sparkled bright... it was magical! Here is a vintage nod to the Sparkling days of my youth and celebration of our Nation!
With Cherry Cobbler card stock (#119685) attached to the back of this card - it provides a small but important addition of red to this card.
Inspired by this lovely quilt.... I love the vintage feel of the quilt. Our flag was hand sewn and I wonder if it had a similar look and feel... cloth really lends to a warmth and loving feeling.
Stamping our retired Distressed Dots background stamp with Cherry Cobbler ink (#126966) on our 4" x 4" Whisper White card stock (#100730).
Cutting this stamped card stock into 1" squares and then cutting in 1/2 across the diagonal to create these pinwheels.
Dashes of Sparkle... with our adhesive backed, beautiful, Rhinestone basic jewels (#119246) reminds me of the sparklers I grew up enjoying!
Coffee stir sticks are thinner than Popsicle sticks and work perfectly with this project (Thank you, Christine, for grabbing these for me!!)
Night of Navy card stock (#100867) paired together with Cherry Cobbler for this card. I love that my Color Coach (#130118) really aids me to look amazing in my card making!!
Adding this pop of white to the inside of the card continues the feel of our flag... all the way through! Adhering the Cherry Cobbler card stock to the back is a fun twist on color layering!
Our Stampin' Dimensional adhesive (#104430) holds this pinwheel up from the card stock and add a layer of dimension. Our Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (#118309) provides a little focus point with the Night of Navy circle for the center of the pinwheel.
I hope that your day is filled with laughter, family, friends, fun and good memories!!
These vintage pinwheels bring me back to my childhood.. what brings you back?? Leave me a comment and let me know... too, let me know what you think!
Share this, Pin it, Email, Facebook and Tweet it... and join me on those paths (as well as the Vine, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Google+, Foursquare... lol). It's a colorful world... let's walk it together (it's more fun with friends!!).
Thanks for coming by, I look forward to seeing you again and soon!! Happy 4th of July!!
