Sparkling Flower Mother's Day Card

I may not be an artist like some of my friends, ones who can paint and draw with amazing skill. I can fake it with this cool technique that we used at our recent Ragamuffin Coffee Roasters card making class. (I meant to post this sooner but we had my youngest's and husband's birthday last week - eek!) See this easy Video Tutorial and then let me know what YOU create with this technique.

I love the look of this sparkling flower that looks hand drawn and vintage - while using this great stamp set.

~ Stamp the Birthday Blossoms flower on Whisper White card stock with the So Saffron ink pad.

~ Punch out with the Pansy Punch (see the tip on this video tutorial).

~ Grab your Neutrals Stampin' Write Markers.

Take it up a notch with our TOOL TIP:

~ Draw in some small lines around the center of the flower, up the stamped lines and YES it will look like a bit much - but WAIT!

~ Technique: THIS is the coolest trick. Water color over this drawn in lines look with the Clear Wink of Stella glitter brush. This will soften and blur the lines, creating a vintage and soft look with SPARKLE!

~ Stamp on the Whisper White card stock the large collection of flowers and the So Saffron ink pad.

~ Stamp the leaf with the Wild Wasabi ink pad in the corner.

~ Create a custom greeting - this MOM was created using the Brushwork Alphabet - I LOVE that!!

~ Stamp your sayings for a custom Mother's Day card or any type of card you are seeking.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by.
