Loving the birds (and dogwoods) handmade card

Life is so short.. I love the never ending love of the written word.  It's what creating and sending a handmade card does.  After the recent loss of our soldiers and Kobe Bryant (in that crash just a few miles from our home) I wanted to take time and remind us... it's what we do.  Creating something beautiful, out of paper, and sending kind, loving, supportive words.. this is a gift that can live well past what we do.  I hope you enjoy that this is a therapy for me, as I create it and as I send it... Creating this is so much fun!  Our stunning double sided Designer Series Paper, like this Bird Ballad collection, makes this so easy to create.
~  Cutting the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper to 5-1/2"x12" (see my video on EXACTLY how to do this... there are little tips for how-to do this the easy way).
~  Score at 3-1/2", 7-3/4" with our Paper Trimmer (or Simply Scored).
~  Cut a Whisper White cardstock to 3-3/4" and 5".
~  Using our Heart to Heart stamp set, stamp this fabulous 'You make my life better' greeting in Basic Grey ink.
~  Frame the coordinating flowers around the greeting and use a clear block to secure their spacing.  Stamping it in Pool Party ink pad for a perfectly coordinated look.  Adhere to the inside with our SNAIL adhesive.
(I just ADORE how our inks, papers, stamp sets, accessories all coordinate for easy but stylish crafting with little effort!!)
~  Using the end strip and create a belly-band around the card.
~  Accent with these stunning brass, coordinated embellishments in the Bird Ballad Trinkets! 
(Adhere them on with our stunning Lace and Mini Glue Dots to the belly band.)

I love the double sided look to this paper with elegant coordinated patterns and colors.  



The Dogwood has a wonderful legend.  This was hung in my Nanna and Pappa's home and I was given it, when they passed.  I adore this beautiful poem, if you don't know it...

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone.
