Allow me to share our new home...

Escrow - that is a nasty word these days, around my home (lol).

We have been in escrow for years (OK so not really but it FEELS Like It!)  Our heart has been yearning to not be in this in-between space of life, to go to and land in Indiana, being near our family, and starting a new chapter of our lives.

Long story short is - drama with a variety of levels and people, being held hostage with hold ups due to the Rona and more...

TODAY though, today the loan for the buyers was finally approved - this a day AFTER we bought a home in Indiana! (God's timing is so amazing!)  So this is her... our new chapter of life will start HERE in this stunning 3,000 + square foot Craftsman home from 1900!

A home we bought while here in California!

I'm so grateful for my cousins and amazing realtor who went to see the home, virtually touring us in from California!  We had three homes lined up to see that day (virtually) but this became their first and the only one as we just KNEW it was for us!

We can't wait to arrive here in just over two weeks!
A beautiful 5 bedroom home (we have some easy updating to do initially and adding our personal stamp on this home) and a stunning Crafting Attic that is HUGE and going to be AMAZING!
This is our peninsula!
We own half of the river with a peninsula, small island...
With a beautiful collection of trees and water full of fish (catfish and bluegill were seen jumping), bald eagles, cranes, geese and more wildlife were enjoyed via video from our private deck.
I can't wait to pour some tea, grab my Bible and kindle, find some time to come and sit here DAILY as this is our view from the back deck of our home.
We are near Fort Wayne and inbetween several cousins and my Uncle and Aunt.
Paddle Boarding, Kayaking, Hiking, Fishing... my children and I are avid nature people and this will allow for all of this and more!
Craftsman bliss!
So we had a list and this home has ALL of our list INCLUDING an original Craftsman home with all of the flair!
We have big plans to update, restore and create a home that fills our hearts desires (and adding the three things from our wish list) to this home.
I can't wait!
We are actually moving the week after Easter, where my kids, dogs and I will be road tripping across Route 66, visiting friends along the way.
We plan to arrive the second week of April and move right in!

So BRACE y'all...
This new adventure is going to be FUN!
Join us as I'll be sharing our road trip, the home and changes we make as the old is now our new chapter of life.

  1. Hi Jamie, I am just so happy that you were blessed with finding the perfect home. I used to have clients in Fort Wayne and always enjoyed going there to visit. Living on the water will be so cool. Everyday you and your family will find new places to explore in your backyard. Then the new towns and cities in your area will have so much to see. Thanks for sharing your road trip adventure.

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
