When life gives you lemons 🍋 and a hospital situation

I know that I went MIA (Missing In Action) but this is one tired woman in need of prayers...
Last week was going WONDERFULLY until I had (in one day) to take my dog to the emergency vet (can we just say that this is as expensive as a human at the hospital - or so it seems?!)

We had Dr appointments for my kids and I....

I was home to blog and create when I ended up with my husband in a life threatening situation and a long stay at the hospital for him.
(All in one day, of course...)

So as my children and I spent our time rotating in and out of the hospital, I navigated the hospital staff, tests and more for my husband, our homeschooling, medical stuff for my girls and I and more.
WHEW....

But wait... there is more.

I do want to say that we are so grateful for the prompt care of my husband and clear communication with the nurses and doctors.  The support of our loved ones, friends and church has been priceless.

It doesn't take away from the fact that
I am (as well as my kiddos) bone tired.
John ended up with a slew of scary medical needs but Congestive Heart Failure to inflammation and infection in his lungs from this and his other medical stuff... it was scary to say the least.  He has since checked himself out and is at home, oxygen in use and a slew of medical appointments, tests, in home nurse and physical therapists to help.
****
But I dedicate this post to someone so special that I just wanted to mention her here....
17+ years ago I was in MOPS and met the most amazing group of women.
Women who raised our kids side by side along in prayer and faith, laughter and adventures.

Donna Wheelock was one of those.  If you have, over the last seventeen years, joined my crafting classes and retreats... you may have met and laughed alongside of her.

Donna befriended everyone and you instantly felt like you were family.
She adored her husband and daughters, their pups as well.
We loved to lunch or go out to dinner as a group or have long calls together about the changes of our children and how we don't age.

Donna lost her struggle with cancer this week,
her on and off again struggle with cancer.
She was a warrior and now she is with the Lord.

Life comes at you from all directions... sometimes you can't breathe.

So I am sharing a favorite quote of mine from A.W. Tozer on our journey as a Christian....

I am dedicating this small nod to the amazing person that she was.

I am asking for prayers... for this dear Wheelock family.

I am asking for prayes for my own family.

God is so good even in challenging seasons like this.

I look forward to being back this weekend with some great crafting projects and videos....
Creating and Connecting with others over Card Making and Crafting... it is MORE than just stamps and paper.  It is living life with others, making memories, leaving a little love in the lives of others.
It is what we do... we celebrate and live life with others..

Until then... tell those in your life that you love them, be loud, crazy, solid, deep, weird and fun with it.  Live every moment to the fullest and find every glimmer of joy that you can.  Celebrate the people in our lives as we never know when we will have to say good-bye.

I am so grateful for you.  Crafting Blessings and love.... Jamie

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
