Refined Wishes

Do you have friends in your life who are refined?
Drink only the finest drinks
(no fruit on the side of those cups, baby, and NO plastic cups - lol)
Wear the most elegant of clothes and have a fabulous shoe collection?
Who's nails are always done...
Who's hair is always shiny (like a shampoo commercial?!?!)...

Me Toooooo!!!! lol...

Having such amazing friends in my life inspires me to look even better...

To switch out my yoga pants and flip flops for
Dark Washed Denim and stylish boots or flats...
To pull that pony tail out and BRUSH my hair... lol (or wash my hair?!?!)

OK so I couldn't resist when a dear friend who screams elegance and grace from the inside out had a birthday
I whipped out My Digital Studio and created a card for her!!

Isn't My Digital Studio just sooooo amazing?!?!
With the thought 'damask' running thru my head
I started with this square card.
Selecting a Designer Series Paper was next.
I'd wanted to go Black, Grey and White but...
after seeing this paper.. I couldn't change my base!
Adding this stamped image in our retired Close to Cocoa colored ink I had the feel of a lovely damask print.

Satin - I was tempted by the crochet ribbon but decided that for a classy dame like my girlfriend, she deserved something refined - like satin!
Chocolate Chip colored satin ribbon can easily be moved and re sized with our MDS2!!

Rosette's (aka Lollies!!) are NOW available on our MDS.. (yeah!!)
and I selected the Crumb Cake Rosette/Lolly for a fun embellishment!
Topping it off with an Antique Brad that had the feel of the stamps and patterned paper.
(Don't you just LOVE how realistic it is?!?!
Nothing 'digital' looking or cartoony - just lovely!)

I LOVE posting MDS cards to people's facebook pages on their bdays!  It's great as most people don't get more than wishes - adding a card makes me stand out from the crowd (it's all about me, in the end, isn't it - lol)

Share the Love... Digitally!

This was similar to a card that was shared on the LNS group... I couldn't find the orginal email.... I changed it up, made it mine (lol) but I love this look!  The Pearls are so stunning and I added them to the spokes of the wheel to add some interest... the Drop Shadow behind the stamps and sentiments can be modified in color, opacity and more.... it's a great tool to highlight a stamp, breaking up the Red Hearts on the Red DSP... or the Black to add a subtle break....
Vintage Elegance... I love this non-traditional color combo for a Valentines card but also great for an Anniversary card... Medallion Stamp, Retired DSP is forever mine (mawahahahaha) with this program and I adore the Ribbon and Antique Brads...
A favorite but 'older' stamp set is this vintage Greeting Card Kids stamp set (available in the Idea Book - get it before it's gone or w/ MDS!)... with the MDS Ink Splatter tool I added color to her heart and a blush to her cheeks and nose... the ability to 'color' the stamps makes for tons of FUN ( and Variety - it's the spice of life, isn't it?).  Satin Ribbon, Colored Dahlia's that you can modify it's size... the possiblities are ENDLESS!

(Here is modified it and made the lines out of Crumb Cake - to soften the image....)

My Digital Studio 2 is FUN, Easy and Cool!  Digital love to send in emails, on Facebook and Twitter.. I'm using these for my ads!  Send some digital love - it's a pleasant surprise on a Facebook page or email box (like most mail - it's full of filler and annoyance, isn't it??).  Stand Out and Bless another with some love... I'm sure they'll love you for it!

MDS is FREE for 30 Days!  Click HERE for more info....  REMEMBER!!  Digital lessons are available on-line or come to one of my classes!  Purchase MDS or Try It Out from my website and take a FREE Class with How-To's right on YOUR Laptop!!

Coordinating Bags and Tags, please...

Ok, I am all about looking fly with my gift wrapping! Using our Designer Series papers and the coordinating My Digital Studio DSP makes it easy peasy (lemon squeezy) to make coordinating tags!!

Here is my fun gift bags for the upcoming Women's Retreat for our church (let me know if you'd like to go!).

Using the Holiday Mini's Howlstooth Designer Series Paper that has the same paper in our MDS! Using our Hearts layering framelets and Big Shot I used the same paper but alternated front and back to create this fun layered look! The Silver Glimmer Paper is the center heart! Not to lose the little DSP heart, I adhered it to the MDS DSP printed tag!

This is easy and fun! We anticipate making over 100, so it will have to be! (Lol) Using digital crafting with paper crafting is fun and I love how amazing it makes me look! (It's all about how I look, right?!?!! Lol)

Thank you for coming by, taking a look and sharing this with others! Please feel free to leave a comment, they are always appreciated. How would you use paper, stamps and such withhhh My Digital Studio??

New Year's Letter

So do you ever feel 'behind' in life??
Like the Holidays sneak up and then fly by?
We all do!
It's a rare few who send out cards each year, even fewer who send out Holiday Letters and then there are those, like me, who send them late when they do!  I'm OK with that - some day, when I don't have little hands that distract me... life that isn't so busy and demanding... (will that ever really happen?!?!)
I look forward to, again, mailing our Christmas Cards on time and our Holiday Letter along with it!

THIS is our Holiday letter!  Well, the lay out and beginning.... my family doesn't necessarily want me to post all their comings and goings to the world.. lol.  I have 6 amazing kids, 5 girls - 1 boy... we are a busy lot and haven't had less than a 2 page letter in years!

THIS year - instead of printing a ton of pictures to mail out, I sent a Digital Card - via email and Facebook - to our family and friends.  Then I was able to send out a Digital Holiday letter to my craftin' friends and customers...
It was madness with the flu that hit our home, my broken foot... life... so I am feeling pretty fly by getting this out in a timely manner!

I wanted to send the pictures of the kids to our family and friends who may not see them as often as they'd like.  We have family all over the world - Mongolia, Italy, Germany, China, Japan, Colombia, Belgium (these were just the exchange students that are part of our 'extended' family over the past few years.... then we have family in the Middle East serving as missionaries, family who live in Italy, Australia and all over the USA!

I hope that YOU have FUN with your Holiday Letters... it's never too late to catch up with family and friends!!  Resolve THIS YEAR to reach out to those you love.  You may be the highlight of their day!

My Digital Studio makes it EASY and FUN to create Stunning Digital work and letter, scrapbooks, calendars and more... by using this (Retired but one of my Favorite) Designer Series Paper Packets.. I can use it over and over!  It layers and when framing it with the amazing family photos shot by a dear friend Nicole Ricketts... this letter is just stunning!!  Who wouldn't love receiving this letter?  Saving it is easy and Sending it is easier!

What can YOU do with these Designer Series Papers, Stamps, Embellishments and the best artwork of ALL... Your family! (Well, they are stunning, in my biased opinion... lol.)

With the ease and fun that My Digital Studio lends - I can modify stamps, embellishments (like these rhinestones), Ribbon and more!  This is the Whisper White Satin Ribbon with the Tiny Tiny Wishes 'Happy New Year' sentiment enlarged on it!

I dream of taking my Pilot lessons and test some day - when I don't have little ones and maybe more 'spare' time... until then I can SOAR with my Hopes, Dreams and Aspirations!

What are YOUR Goals in 2013??
 I'm going to:
~ Lose Weight and get back to my 5am gym exercises!

(OK - if you've seen my pool table and Stamp and Paper Wall, Embellishment Units and more... you can giggle with me here!)
~ Have FUN, Say NO to too many commitments and Celebrate LIFE
(and my family)!

Get Well Wishes

My Cousin's Daughter had Knee Surgery yesterday....
I wish I could pop over with a basket loaded with movies, pop corn and candy treats... trash mags and maybe a hand held digital game...
buttttt - they are across the nation in New York State!  EEEEk - that'd be quite a trip from my California digs!

I couldn't resist creating this for Rebekah and posted it on her Facebook Page.... My Digital Studio makes it easy and fun to create love and send it - digitally (or print it and mail it!).

Using Stamps - I created these Two-Step 'stamped' flowers in Not Quite Navy and Crumb Cake - the embellishments of our Antique Brads ROCK!! - Soooo life like - you can barely tell it's digital!!

I hope that you take on My Digital Studio to send love to those who need a little TLC!  Thank you for coming by, checking it out and feel free to share this with others or leave a comment!

Family Photo Card

The Great things in life often come back to my family...
This year I've decided to reach out Digitally to my family and friends... I created this card and will print it for some of my non-digital family but to those that are far away (we have family in Italy, Australia, Germany, Mongolia, Japan, China...to the East Coast) I wanted to reach then with a collection of some of my favorite images - my family!

My Digital Studio makes creating a lovely card fun and easy!  I love that you can pick any paper, pre-set layout or easily create your own (like I did here), frame the pictures, add stamps, sentiments, text, etc.  Making it into a Jpeg to share on Facebook, email and printing and sending out is ideal!

Go Green!
Send out Digital Cards this year to those who'd appreciate it!
(Print it for those who want one on their fridge!)
Printing is easier than ever - you can order it right from MDS's Program and Stampin' Up! will ship it right to you... or (if you are a procrastinator, like me) order it for same day printing from your favorite photo processing center.
(I recommend printing it in a mat print and not glossy, it looks better - in my opinion.)

I did a Dramatic and Non-Traditional family collage with a Black and Grey Brocade Paper and Bashful Blue mat on the photos.  This also picks up the blue in our family photo this year.  The dash of Real Red comes from the Color Coach recommendation of Real Red with Bashful Blue!

From my family to yours... may your Holiday Season be filled with love, laughter, and fun!
Blessings,
Jamie AR Albanese and my amazing family

With one hand

I love how Apps on my Smart phone make life easier and fun! I'm never board!!

As I sit on my couch, my broken Right foot up on a pillow, my sick n sweaty 18 month old in my arms I debate how I'm going to upload this great project I created today... Nope! Sadly NOT going to happen. My baby needs me and I'm here for her.

So I whipped out my iPhone and created this post card from our recently acquired family Pictures. They are a great collection so I had fun making a collage of them. The Simply Sent FREE App is great for soooo much but here is my favorite collection of people.... My reason why. My family. (Not like they would let me sleep in anyway, lol.).

What do YOU think?? Have fun when you can. iPhones and Apps allow me some "me" time while boogers and sweat coat my shirt and my sweet, sweet baby suffers. Sigh, I'm off to tend to my family. Stay healthy and cherish (and share) your memories!

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
