It's Your Day hand-stamped bow card

I love the 1950's.. I wasn't around then but the visions of poodle skirts, pink bows, black and white patterns and the introduction of Rock 'n Roll (Rock Around the Clock is a favorite bop from Happy Day's - lol to Churck Berry, Buddy Holly and more!!).  This Strawberry Slush In-Color reminds me of the pink accents of the 1950's, the black and white punched bow.. it makes for a sweet celebration hand-stamped card.  Add the cool accent of our new Chalkboard Paper and Chalk Ink for a groovy and hip hand-crafted card.
Create this sweet chalk-board inspired hand-stamped bow card with:
Big On You stamp set (137151)
Strawberry Slush card stock (131295)
Back to Black Designer Series Paper (133700)
Rose Coral Chalk Ink Pads (138091)
Chalkboard Paper (137786)
Bow Builder Punch (137414)
Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)
 Hot Glue

The matte look of this STUNNING Chalk Paper makes me giddy!  Silly but true - kind of like finding a fabulous new pair of shoes - on sale - lol!  This two sided paper has a regular black on one side, the Chalk Board side to the other.  The Chalk side is very rich and matte making for a unique background that actually has it's own depth.  Stamp with the New and Awesome Chalk Ink Pads for a real Chalk-Board look that won't brush off!  Here the Rose Coral Chalk ink pad really works with the Strawberry Slush in-color card stock.  Raise it with the Stampin' Dimensional Adhesive.

The new Bow Builder Punch makes for the CUTEST Bow!!  Love this cute and easy punch that can take a collection of papers and create a stunning hand-crafted bow accent!  Use Hot Glue (carefully) for a sturdy accent on your hand-stamped card that will hold up to mailing handling.
The Chalk Ink really does look like a chalk writing from your local sandwich place or coffee shop - doesn't it??  I love this cool, trendy accent.  The Big On You stamp set from the Occassions Mini Catalog makes for a quick but cool card.  With large sayings - that say it all (lol) - you can deliver a hand-stamped card showing who is important and with style!

Hello Kitty Punch Art card

Hello Kitty is, again, all the rage!  I remember when she made her first appearances and my owning a full stationary set, including stamps!  (I was in Elementary/Jr. High?? and my love of paper raged even then!!)  So celebrating my girl's 8th birthday this past weekend We gave her this cute card to tie into her Hello Kitty Gumball machine!  Join me in making this Framelit/Punch-Art card to sweeten the day!
Create this card with:
Whisper White card stock (#100730)
Basic Black card stock (#121045)
Strawberry Slush card stock (#131295)
Strawberry Slush ink (#131178)
Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper (#130141)
Large Pearl Jewels (#125577)
Aqua Painters (#103954)
Scallop Oval Punch (#119856)
Small Oval Punch (#120908)
Ovals Collection Framelits (#129381)
Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (#113439)
Big Shot Magnetic Platform (#130658)
Permanent Markers & Hot Glue
Using the Ovals Framelits and Whisper White card stock I punched out the large Hello Kitty face and smaller one oval for the ears.  Cutting the smaller in half and apply from behind so that the ears peek through.

Cutting 1/4" x 1-1/2" strips of Basic Black card stock for the whiskers.  Accent the ears and small mouth with the Strawberry Slush ink and Aqua Painter.  (My daughter advised me that Hello Kitty doesn't have a mouth in any of her picutres... lol, geesh.)

Color in the adhesive backed Large Pearls that you colored in with Permanent Markers for the eyes, nose and on her bow.

Layer this kitty over the Strawberry Slush card stock and differently patterned Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper.
Create this cute 'bow' with two punched Quatrefancy Scallop Punched Ovals.  Fold them in 1/2 nad using Hot Glue then facing each other for this bow look.  Taking the Small Quatrefancy Oval and cover the center and hold while drying/cooling.
What do you think??  Please Share Me and This with a Pin, Email, Facebook post, Tweet.. and Join Me with a follow on these avenues and YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and Foursquare!  Get even MORE Gettin' Crafty Stampin' with our Exclusive Mailing List and it's many rewards!!

This sweet kitty is an ideal card for a pretty 8 year old's birthday!  Punch Art (here with Framelits and Punches) can be a fun way to play with your paper while delivering smiles!!  When stamps can't provide the ideal image, create it with paper!  I can't resist giving some of my childhood memories to my little girls... and this card, Hello Kitty and all, is just the right way to do so (while still being 'cool').

Sparkle Cupcake Celebration

Sparkle and Shine!
Glitz and Glam!
When our dear family friends' daughter was having a birthday I couldn't resist a sweet sparkle and shine, girly girl card.  Being a Double Birthday we had to change it up a little for two sweet little girls...
Starting with our Tea for Two Designer Series Paper (Spring Mini) as a quilted base, it's a fun combination of colors, patterns while looking cohesive.

Stamping this Cupcake Builder Punch and the Coordinating Create a Cupcake stamp set (Spring Mini) this cute lil cake comes to 3D life!
Tying it all together... Laying a stitched ribbon over the stitched paper is a subtle but appealing look.  Our 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Early Espresso Ribbon is additionally tied in when I stamped this ribbon across the cupcake base is easy and fun.

Using our Sweet Tea Lace Doilies (Spring Mini) by stamping the sentiment and layering (make 3D) with our Stampin' Dimensional adhesive.  The Punched Glimmer Paper, Cupcake base, Cherry and Candle is quirky and fun (way easy with high impact, too).

Layering Doilies is an easy way to cause a
flutter and feminine feeling.
Stamping on our Doilies is easy but be aware, they take longer to dry... so stamp and then work on the rest of your project, this is sooo worth it!
Frame it up...
Add our adhesive backed Rhinestone Basic Jewels pack to the corners... adding two different sizes and lay-outs (one sheet, 150 Rhinestones w/ four different sizes of bling - easy and fun for only $4.95, grab yours and fast! ~ Idea Book & Catalog)
Subtle mimicking has a big impact.
This Sweet, Sparkling card is perfect for this Girly Girl who Sparkles in OUR lives!

HOW would YOU tie this all together?!?!
What product/aspect of this card is YOUR favorite?!

Butterfly Birthday

When the daughter of one of my dear friend's had her birthday, I couldn't resist making this girly girl an
ultra-feminine card!
Here using our So Saffron card stock as the base for this Tea for Two Designer Series Paper.  The Swallowtail stamped over the patterned paper is with Early Espresso Ink.  This dark ink stands sharply above the pretty quilted patterned paper.  Our So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker colors in, separates while being see through (like a real butterfly is).
(See these pretty items and more when you Click HERE.)
Our adhesive backed Basic Jewels sweeten this card.  The larger pearls frame the pretty stamped Tea Lace Paper Doily (24 in a pack - for only $2.95 in the Spring Mini).  Lean on Me is a sweet stamp set in our Idea Book & Catalog and with the cute little butterfly fluttering... it fit this card.  Our Stampin' Write Markers make is easy to color in this sweet girl.  Accenting the Doily* with the strips of pearls and her buttons with the smallest pearls... she's as sweet as can be.
*(Stamping on the Doily does take a little longer to dry, be prepared.)

Double Doily, double the beauty.
The Doilies are thin and easily stick together.  When I adhered this down I was surprised when the top layer came OFF... so I adhered it down and then ruffled the edges.  This flutter is a BONUS from a Boo-Boo.  I love it!
(Like the flutter of the butterfly wings...)
Sweet, tied together with subtle mimicking touches, this Girly Girl card is PERFECT for my adopted 'niece' on her birthday.  I love that our two families are blessed to know and be close to one another.  (Sometimes the best family is the ones God brings as we are older, in the form of friendship.)

Daisy Girl Scouts

My Pride, My Joy, My Daughter and
My Girl Scout Daisy Troop.
I may not be a big 'joiner' and girly girl cheering kind of gal.  When I took on a troop, two years ago, I was amazed how these girls became such a point of pride, joy and love...
With a Pretty In Pink card stock base, our All Dressed Up Framelits Dies (Spring Mini), Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Marina Mist and Chocolate Chip card stocks... these dresses now resemble our school's uniforms (tan bottoms, white polo's) and their pretty vests!

My Daughter said it was cute but missing the large rainbow daisy.  Whipping out our Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and the little flower punched out of Whisper White card stock.  Our Stampin' Write Markers color in the petals that they earned.

EVERY Girl Scout, from new to older, can recite this saying from memory.  I like what it says.  Here framing it up in our Labels Collection Framelits and Big Shot creates the perfect layered look, easily!

The More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper (Spring Mini) in this lacy, doily, blue patterned paper is a perfect fit for this card.
Sniff, Sniff...
I'm sad to say, this will be my last year as a leader.  I created cards for each of the girls and wrote a personal note for them.  As I wrap up this year, two moms will be taking over next years as they bridge to Brownies.  I LOVE that I was able to be a part of their lives for the past two years.
Breaking down this pretty Daisy Girl Scout card for you... Here using ALL three pieces of the Dressed Up framelits, a collection of bright Stampin' Write Markers and a little bit of work... this comes to life.
Cutting All three pieces and pulling them together is easy, if not for the many pieces - lol - for our 9 girls.
The effort?!  Well worth it, they are an amazing bunch of girls and parents.
Girl Scouts celebrated their 100 year Anniversary this past year.  100 years of impacting, encouraging and strengthening girls all while selling some amazing cookies (lol).

My troop had 12 girls at one point and I'm honored to have been a part of these girls lives.
What fun it's been, an adventure I will never forget.
(Luckily I'll get to see these girls on campus!)

Celebrate Friends!!

My sweet little girl was invited to a softball-teammate's birthday party.  The two girls even live near each other in our Equestrian estates... so this is the card we created for the horse riding birthday party!  (I love creating cards with my daughters.... my friends, too - lol.)
I adore our Tea for Two Designer Series Paper (Spring Mini) and these adorable paper doilies (Spring Mini).  These Tea Lace Doilies come in White ($2.95 for 24! WOW!!)... but I wanted more than white... I wanted a warm color.... so join me - let's change this doily into a So Saffron one!!
Start off by stamping the items you want on the doily... here I stamped in Early Espresso Ink this sweet Little Friends stamp set (Idea Book & Catalog).

Stamp the images/girls on a sticky note and cut out.
Cover the images with the stamped sticky notes that you cut out.... then Brayer the doily with So Saffron ink... the Doily absorbs the color and when you remove the covered/masked girls they are white!
This sweet quilted Tea for Two paper is a perfect frame for this transformed Doily!!
Though the paper looks stitched and quilted, I couldn't resist adding this textured Needlepoint Border Textured Impressions Embossing Folders and Big Shot to the end... the sweet texture is a fun way to add an embellishment.
Coloring in the girls with our Stampin' Write Markers is a fun way to add character - too, it ties into the color of the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper.  Using the Stampin' Write Marker makes it easy to accent the embossed 'stitches' with a Crumb Cake accent.

The sweetness of this image, papers, doily... the luminescent pearls button it up.  These Pearls from the Basic Jewels adhesive backed sheet are ideal!  Perfect accents on the Doily and card.
I love that my baby girl has such a sweet friend.
This card captures that sweetness, doesn't it?!?!
Here is my little princess...
her new obsession is taking riding lessons - lol.

As I work on that for her and her siblings...
I'm glad to have captured these memories!!

What party memories do YOU have...
ones that are the highlight of your life?!?!
Leave me a comment and let me know...

Pink Panda Flowers

Softball Season is Upon Usssss!
Our Pink Panda girls are sooo sweet.
I offered to create our girls hair ties.
Whipping out a large variety of ribbons
(our team is hot pink and black) but then
I decided that our girls should be Different!
With Black and Hot Pink felt and my amazing Big Shot and Floral Frames Framelits (Idea book & Catalog).
Hot Gluing them to pins serves a few uses, they can be pinned (and were) to hair ties, if the girls don't want to wear it they can pin it to their uniforms and after the season is over... pin it to their softball bags, backpacks, outfits, etc.
I love that a retired brad can hold it all together.
It is nice, flat and bold in colors.  I debated adding ribbon, but figured that I didn't want to take away from the girls, themselves.
HERE is myyyyy little Pink Panda.
She's a TOTAL Fashionista - lol... and was excited to help me create these fun bow for her team mates.
LOOK at that swing!
This is our daughter's second year in Soft Ball and she is the youngest and smallest on the team.  The girls embrace her, cheer each other on, we have great coaches and families... needless to say, it's a great season!
Being different has never been so much FUN!
Clean, neat, bright, bold and fun.. our girls and these bows/pins!

Who do YOU Cheer on?!?!
(Yes, yes... I'm one of thooooose loud moms, lol.)

Butterfly joins the tea party

My girls were invited to a neighbor's
Tea Party and they just LOVED it!

A Tea Party should be outside, if the weather allows.  Our neighborhood has a wonderful collection of nature and life, beautiful birds and butterflies - especially during Spring!

Here is my girly girl card that celebrates Spring!
With this stunning Tea for Two Designer Series Paper (Spring Mini) after running it through the
Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
and Big Shot and adhering it to the Pretty In Pink card stock, Spring is ready for a celebration.
The Pattern is a Mixed Pattern (very trendy and vintage) and laid out in a Honeycomb pattern.  The added Honeycomb texture is a fun way to mimic the style and look.
Heat Embossing this Swallowtail background stamp (Spring Mini) on Whisper White with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. Now you have a beautiful sparkly butterfly.
With my Aqua Painter, paint the lightest color (Pretty In Pink) and then build up with the next color, Calypso Coral and accent with the Early Espresso for the body and the edges of the wings... this add definition and depth to the pale butterfly.  Water Painting is easy and fun!

What do YOU like about Spring?!?!
Today is Learn about Butterflies Day
Many of us first learned about the butterfly as kids. We studied how a little caterpillar would wind itself up in a cocoon and emerge later with giant colorful wings. This may have prompted some of us to attempt to keep caterpillars as pets, but we all know how that turned out. Oh well. Lesson learned.
I've whipped out a fun Butterfly book and
will read it with my kids today... we'll take a moment to see the many butterflies in our garden (we own a few Butterfly bushes that draw butterflies and humming birds).

Celebrate the Little moments in life and have fun with it.
Leave me a comment and let me know what YOU like about Spring?  What do YOU celebrate??

Sparkle Birthday Invites!

I ADORE how EASY My Digital Studio is!!
I have 6 kids and a busy CPA and CFO husband.... so planning a birthday party is usually by the skin of our teeth.. I am inclined to be a procrastinator and that just hinders the process.. lol
(especially during my hubby's busiest season at work and w/ taxes in our own company!).

But, with My Digital Studio (MDS) it's easier than ever to create a Birthday Invitation (and thank yous, decorations, etc) with a few swipes of my fingers and then I can order it for 1 hour pick up at a local photo processing center.

My Genevieve is turning 7!  WOW!!  This is actually ON her Birthday and we've always combo'd her and her brother's birthdays (they are two years and two weeks apart) but last year we had over 50 kids and several adults at a pizza tour and party... it was a TON to tackle.  This year my frilly, sassy and girly girl wanted to do a girly party (not that I can blame her).

With the Release of Stampin' Up!'s Glimmer Paper on MDS (can you imagine how EXCITED I am?!?! lol) I created this blinged out card!  Being that she has to select only a few friends, I can email their moms as well as we printed this at my local pharmacy (I can pick it up on my way to her school - how COOL!) to hand out with the follow up email (in case any girl loses the invite).

Bling and Stamps - Glimmer and Designer Series Paper, the Rhinestones, adding layers and text... it's a mom's dream!  I'll coordinate the party decorations and thank you's with the ease of MDS and the fact that it matches our current papers!

What would YOU Create with My Digital Studio?!?!  I can easily take all of our photos and scrapbook them after the party... how great is that?!?!
Thank you for coming by, taking a look and feel free to share and leave a comment, it is always appreciated!

OK LOOOOOOOK!  How CUTE are these?!?!  They came out so cute and QUICK!  I was able to pick them up and get to our school (on time - five minutes early even!) and my daughter was excited to hand them out to her friends!  (Her lil BFF's dad was there and I handed him her invite first - lol... we'd hate to not have the one girl she wants the most-est... lol.)

Baby Girl

I noticed on Facebook that a fellow stamper who participates in the Late Night Stamper's challenges... Lynn has her 22nd grandbaby - a girl!  I couldn't resist creating this fun My Digital Studio and posted it on her Facebook page...

My Digital Studio makes it quick and fun to create cards and more!
This quick card is a great way to celebrate life's moments with another!

MDS is FREE for 30 days - give it a whirl and see what I'm talking about!
Thanks for looking!  Feel free to leave a comment...

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
