Thinlits and Framelits Storage Solution

We have a lot of people and stuff in a small space.  So being creative in organizing is key in our home.  In my life, everything has it's place and there is a place for everything.  The thinlits and  framelits, we sell, are some of my most favorite paper-crafting tools!  When I misplace any part of these collections it's a nightmare... so having a way to hold the collections together is so helpful in being organized.  See this simple trick to holding it all together (well, at least my framelits - lol).
See how easy it is to 'hold it all together' in an attempt to know where all your pieces are.  You'll need to take your Framelits and Thinlits (used with our Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine).  Isn't it always the case that you want the one item you've misplaced - it's the story of my life.
The Framelits and Thinlits collections are amazing tools!!  They take my hand-crafted cards to the next WOW level!
I don't care for the sticky strip that holds the collections together.  Taking a simple addition of magnetic strips or cards you can have a reusable surface and it won't grab any lint!  (The lint of life can be kind of gross.)
Purchased at my local office-supply store, these business card magnetic sheets and magnetic strips are wonderful!  They are usually adhesive on one side and magnetic on the other.
Simply apply them to each collection of framelits and thinlits you own... I do this, usually, the first time I open them up (every deliver is like Christmas and I can't wait).
Once the magnetic strips are in place your collections will hold on in their place and stay there!  See how you can turn it upside down - they remain in place.  I love the Magnetic Platform for this very reason - it makes using the Framelits and Thinlits so much easier in the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine!
Pop the collection into the plastic sleeve it comes in and you can prevent them from falling out and getting lost when you use them.
Stampin' Up! has these great Die Storage Boxes!  With three sizes they store all of my Embossing Folders, Framelits, Thinlits, Bigz Dies and more!  I have them perfectly lined up and they help me to keep organized.

Keeping together your collections is a key in using your paper-crafting tools.  The Thinlits and Framelits are some of my favorite card making tools to use in my Big Shot Die-Cutting and Embossing Machines.  So taking one simple addition allows for my collections to stick together.  No matter the crafting space you may or may-not have... these simple tricks can make keeping them all together easy.  Create stunning paper-crafts, quilting, and card-making items with these amazing tools - and this will help you to find them when you need them (I've learned the 'hard' way to keep my collections together).

ReThink Your Colors

Celebrate Color!
Celebrate Life!!
It's really my motto.... I'm all about vibrant living!  I love this wonderful quote "If you can give your son or daughter only one gift, let it be enthusiasm. ~ Bruce Barton".  I try to do that... and I believe that color goes along with enthusiasm.

When Stampin' Up! came out with their new color palate and re-worked their colors I paused.. I'm not big on change.  It took me a month but I was able to pull all of my old colors (prepping for a HUGE Sale of thousands of stamps in August... the date is to be released and soon... keep an eye out!).

Here is what I came up with and how I store my colors... check it out and let me know what you think!
So I have a fun Stamping WALL!  My husband, when we moved into this house, he told the movers and our friends to build me a wall for my stamping (WOW!).  Here is the fun Paper portion of the wall... it's a 6' Cherry Book Case... and it holds my many colors, by color family!!
So if you ask how I select the colors and where they go... I'm all about order (well, my heart and closet are all about order, my head, kids and hubby... life... we don't stay as organized as I like).  I place my colors in the same line as the Catalog from Stampin' Up! lays out.

So here, I reworked the new colors and our Brights family comes to life!
Here our Subtles color family comes together and the new line-up really helps me to re-think the colors!  Every color family really comes to life and the new life inspires me to PLAY!

Reworking my Neutrals Color Family and adding the new Smoky Slate... It's a trip to move them around but I found my brain being peaked with some crafting urges... it's amazing how reworking the way your eye sees something and what it inspires!
The Regals Color Family comes to life!! Laying it out reminds me that I need to order some of the new Crushed Curry (#131119)... lol... It now seems to make more sense, when I see it laid out like this... more desirable and functional.
The New and Current In-Colors.... having them matched, visible vs. in a stack... it's easier to craft while inspiring fun!
Shhhhh..... I'm going to let you in on a (not so) Secret... my favorite tool is the Color Coach (#130118).  I've used our Color Wheels and Coaches for the past 7 years.   It's been known to find it's way into my closet, lol.

It's a low-costing tool at $14.95 but lives a long life, pairs up color combinations that I wouldn't have thought of.  Do yourself (and any crafter - this is a wonderful gift!) a FAVOR... add this to your crafting line up.. it will make your projects POP and you look awesome!
From OLD (on the Left) to NEW (on the Right)... the Brights (and all of our color families) come to life anew with subtle additions and laying them out to rework what the eye sees.
I keep this in my kitchen... it reminds me of what I aim to accomplish daily in the life of my children.  I love this Vera Bradley board and it's sharp colors, fun pattern.

What Inspires YOU?
Challenges you??
Take a NEW Look at it... from a different angle to see it anew!!  Often I have a project in my head that I have to set aside and come back to - to see it and where it's going - even if it's taking a different path than I'd imagine.

Leave me a comment and let me know what inspires you and what you think of my paper lay-out!  How do YOU sort and store your papers, stamps, etc??

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
