Piano playing...

Sometimes life can be rough.. then we are graced with an act of love and kindness that warms your very soul!!  We were given a piano yesterday.  Not only that, friends dropped everything at 9:30pm to unload it from a tall truck.  I may not be able to sing.. but this card (hopefully) shows what my heart is singing.. pure joy and love!!

Taking an artist liberty on these keys I couldn't resist playing with this idea of a Piano card.  Did I hit all the right 'keys'?? (te, he, he, he)  Using the Natural Composition Specialty Paper to resemble our new-t0-us piano.

A dear friend connected me to another of our friends for a FREE Piano!!  Yes!  We'd been praying for a piano and one was delivered right to our door, for FREE!!  Not only that, friends surprised me when they showed and helped unload the baby!!  (Sniff, Sniff... this is my soul being warmed!!)

My 7 yr old informed us that the piano was herrrr piano (geesh) and she promised her baby sisters that she'd teach them twinkle twinkle little star.. she figures if she can sing it, she can play it (ummmm... lol).  I've always wanted to own a piano... I used to plan when I'd own my Nanna's Organ (it now resides with one of my cousins in Indiana.. sigh).

Crisp Cantaloupe card stock (#131298) makes for a very feminine card here.  Taking my Sponge Dauber and the Crisp Cantaloupe (#131176) ink to the edges of these 'keys' and the edges of the flower, and card.

 

Taking the Pansy punch (#130698) and Daubing the edges for this soft flower.  Our Antique Brads (#117273) for a soft, vintage and natural look.

Adding a fun whimsical nature accent with our Elegant Butterfly punch (#127526) and Bitty Butterfly Punch (#129406) with the Pistachio  Pudding (#131294) card stock (these colors are paired together with the help of my Color Coach #130118 - aka Color Hero - lol). 

 

Accented with the adhesive backed Pearl Basic Jewels (#119247) for a luminescent accent.

1/2" keys cut from the Modern Medley (#126926) Designer Series Paper, softened with the daubed edges for a pretty look.  Basic Black card stock (#121045) hits the right note with the help of Word Window punch (#119857) cut in 1/2.

 

Tied together with these uber vintage and feminine ribbons.  The coordinating colors make me look sooo good - with little effort - lol.  The new and stretchy 3/8 Ruffle Trim in Crisp Cantaloupe (#130021) lay under the Victoria Crochet Trim (#118481) for a lacy look.

Isn't she just the cutest?!?!  She's a mite bit obsessed - tried to eat her meals there all day - believes she's the next Mozart.  Who knows.. I think these kids can do anything they set their mind to...

The kids were pounding the keys this evening (not tuned yet - lol).  My heart is just filled to overflowing with this generous gift.  What a blessing to us!  Having friends come, support us after a long day.. I feel like my soul is singing.  I hope this card captures this.  What a blessing... right when life was going pretty rough... His grace and mercy, showering us with love.

I love the opportunity to send cards... Thank You cards are often forgotten.  I know we've said the words but often we get too busy to send a follow up Thank You card.  Sometimes a simple THX can be impactful on someone's day... so go ahead, send a few Thank You's and make a difference... they took the time to make a difference in your life.

Eastern Elegance is all the rage and it's Designer Series Paper (#130131) is very trendy in it pattern, bold colors and mixing of colors and style.  Here the Labels Thinlits Die (#133479) creates a fun interactive card... and my video tutorial, below, show's how to create a secret panel for these thinlit dies!

Metallic accents are also all the rage.  The secret is to not do it ALL metal... so the label framelit (included in the label thinlits collection) allows this Eastern Elegance (#130131) center to stand on the Costal Cabana card stock (#131297).

 

Adding a dash of silver with the new Silver Foil Sheets (#132178 Holiday Catalog pg. 28) and the Silver 1/8" Ribbon (#132137 Holiday Cat. pg. 28) is like adding a fine necklace or great bracelet, it just finishes off the look.  The trendy THX is a die in this Label Thinlit Collection.

The pretty Coastal Cabana Ruffle Stretch Trim Ribbon (#130024) lays perfectly under the Silver Ribbon for a feminine flair to this look.  Hot glue is an ideal way to adhere these accents so that the moving and shaking makes sure it all stays where it should - lol.

Like a flowing dress... this card moves and sways, it's ruffles catching the eye and bringing a smile.
