Wrapping It Up Right

Play this CUTE Video and giggle w/ me...

Electronic Card Day

There is a Holiday every day of the year - most days have mulitple holidays.. I have this fun App from Hallmark that helps me to celebrate random days for my kids and friends...

Today is National Electronic Card Day!
Whoot!  Whoot! lol

Every day is a holiday! Today you can celebrate:

Electronic Greeting Card Day

Great for last minute recovery when you forgot to mail a card or gift to someone on a special day.

Here is my Nod to the Holiday and the Late Night Stamper's Bling/Sparkle Challenge this week... the Rinestones show up just like they were applied...
I LOVE that about our MDS!

With our My Digital Studio - it's easier than ever to send some love to people electronically!  I use these to email, Facebook and Tweet my friends and family.  Here is a lovely and different Holiday Card.  'Tis the Season.

This Large Polka Dot Designer Series Paper pkt in our MDS makes for the perfect 'snow' look.  Not many people send out a Black and Grey Holiday card.. but it's cool!  The Real Red Sentiment, Old Olive Tree and Grey Snowflakes make for a unique looking card.

Did you know that you can digitally craft a card, picture, collage, calendar and either print them on your own printer to give out, or order it with Stampin' Up! or even Costco or your local pharmacy or store.  I'm a procrastinator and often need to print at the last moment... utilizing my home printer or even electronically ordering them for 1 hour printing or at my Fed Ex (used to be Kinko's) stores...

Happy Electronic Card Day! (Who knew?!?!)

Super hero!

My family took our annual photos. Here is a quick lol view of one of the photos that Nicole took.

Our Carina is a doll, such fun! I hope you enjoy how I played with it on our Simply Sent App.

A can of snowflakes and sparkles

These cute little clear paint cans were impossible to pass up in the dollar isle at Target. I mean, seriously!?!? Howww cute!

My craftin' fingers and brain started to itch. There are soooo many things I can do with a can like this!! This was my first of the cans that I did.

Using our Silver Glimmer Paper I created a banner to frame the snowflakes from the Bigz Die Snow Flurry from our Holiday Mini. Using the Square Lattice Folder on the Whisper White cut out snowflakes adds dimension. Snowflakes have layers and various textures when you look under a microscope, I'd hoped that adding this unique texture would achieve that.

Using Mini Glue dots apply them in random spots, falling off, etc. turn the paper over and trim off any excess with your Snips. Applying the Basic Jewels, adhesive backed jewels to the center of the snowflakes. The largest on the largest. The medium on the smaller snowflakes.

Rolling the paper up, pop it inside and then push into the seams inside. I'm debating what to fill it with... Suggestions?

Thanks for looking! What would you do with a clear paint can?? Who would you gift it too?? Please leave a comment, feel free to share this with others! Have a snowflake and sparkle filled day!!

Baby Boy Celebrations!

Our dear family friends, the Davis Family, are celebrating the newest addition to their family!  Awww... Kim sat with my husband and I as I was in active labor for 24 hours and 5 minutes.. she was one of the first to hold our Son, Sal... She held my hand during labor and more...

Today we celebrate with them as their daughter Danielle welcomes in a baby boy after 30+ hours of labor.

My Digital Studio is a great tool to create cards, gifts, calendars, etc... I created this for my dear friends and posted it on their facebook page.  They live 95 miles and 5 freeways away.. but this time to celebrate couldn't be passed.  It brought memories of my first delivery, our only son's entrance into the world..

The Late Night Stampers challenged this week to add sparkle to our cards... I couldn't resist adding these Basic Jewels in the Rinestones to this card.  The baby is sure to sparkle and shine in their lives - this card is just a celebration of this new rare jewel in a dark world..

Neutral Elegance this Happy Christmas

I'm registered as a Vendor at the Ascension Lutheran Holiday Boutique coming up on December 7th & 8th!  I'm beyond excited!!  I love interacting with the masses and other vendors.

Sending in my Vendor Application, I created this card.  I know that my friend Lorin with Something Grey is the coordinator and she inspired this vintage and elegant neutral card!

This is a simple and clean card - remember, cards don't have to be crazy layered or difficult to be lovely!

With Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla papers (so yummy sounding, already!).  The Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and my Big Shot or Texture Boutique embossing machines... a simple and elegant background doesn't need much more!

Stamping this vintage snowflake from the Mixed Medley hostess stamp set in our Holiday Mini with Chocolate Chip ink on Very Vanilla paper, the new 1-1/4" Scallop Circle Punch makes for an easy impression!
I just LOVE this stamp set!  Have you gotten YOURS??
Let's discuss a Private Class and get you yours!!

Happy Christmas!  I LOVE that this is a spin on the Normal greeting during the holiday season!  Our More Merry Messages greetings stamp set from the Idea Book and Catalog is LOADED with great Holiday Sentiments!  It fits PERFECTLY in the Modern Label punch from the Idea Book! (I love when a plan comes together - lol.)

This is a simple and clean but still vintage card!  Simply wrap the Victoria Crochet Trim ribbon and hold the ends down with Mini Glue Dots.  Placing the Stampin' Dimensional adhesive to the back of the stamped and punched out Vintage Snowflake.  Layer it above the ends.  NOW they are HIDDEN!!  Stampin' Dimensional adhesive holds the sentiment to the card as well.  When you have a textured background, you will find that some adhesives are more challenged to hold onto the texture.  Dimensional and Glue Dots are ideal for textured backgrounds.

Add a bling with our adhesive backed Basic Jewels pack of Pearls to the center of the snowflake.  It's subtle but really adds a little more elegance and richness to the card.

Here is really a basic card but with just a touch of love and texture, it's now Vintage, Elegant and Clean!  I hope my friend Lorin enjoyed it!  I hope, too, that you enjoy this card.  Comments are beyond appreciated!  Have a Blessed day!

30/30/30

Don't Miss OUT!  This Friday the 30th!!
EXTRAVAGANZA and the Amazing deals ends this week on the 28th and the 30 Cards on the 30th for only $30 is ON!

RSVP ASAP on My Calendar and Save Your SPOT!

I'll see YOU and bring a friend or two...
THIS FRIDAY!

Fabulous You, you sure do sparkle!

My dear friends are truly one of the reasons that my life sparkles and shines!  I love that they are there to hold me up, crack a joke (or a few - lol), get massages and pedi's with...

They are rich jewels in my life!
(You know who you are and THANK YOU for being YOU!)

Here with Elegant Eggplant as the card base the Color Coach suggests Garden Green and Perfect Plum to coordinate and bring out the best in each color - kind of how my friends do - me!

With the Daydream Jumbo Wheel I rolled it in the Illuminate stamp pad from the Holiday mini.  It has a great sparkle and warmth and shine to it!

Stamping the Fabulous You shoe on the Very Vanilla paper with the Stazon Black Ink pad.  Using the Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum and Garden Green Stampin' Write Markers I painted in the flowers and butterflies and leaves.  This shoe is just sooo lovely!  It's built out of all botanical elements and is soooo cool!

I stamped the sentiment with Elegant Eggplant on the Very Vanilla paper.  Layering it on the Garden Green brings out the subtle green in the shoe.  Using the Regals Buttons collection and the Elegant Eggplant flower to punctuate the botanical feel on the sentiment.  The Mini Glue Dots hold it just perfectly!  The Adhesive Backed Basic Pearl fits perfectly in the center!  Awww...

After I had the shoe colored in I covered the whole image in Versa Mark and then Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  Heat setting it... the colors darken and become richer, the whole Very Vanilla now is Soooooo Sparkly!!  I know that it doesn't show as sparkly as I'd like but it just sparkles (like my friends do in my life!).

Framing the shoe on a Perfect Plum card stock - the 1/4" on both the shoe and the sentiment is just the right amount of color.  The shoe is adhered with SNAIL and the sentiment is 'popped' up with the Stampin' Dimensional adhesive.
Sparkle and Shine with this rich colored card.
Any friend that receives this will surely feel special!

I adore the Illuminate Stamp pad - especially on darker colors!  It's not 'in-your-face' but elegant and warm.  Loading the wheel on this stamp pad allows for a quick and easy roll out of richness.

I know it's the holiday season but I do my best to NOT forget my friends and celebrating occasions.

Thank you for coming by, looking, sharing and leaving a comment!  Have a blessed day!  If you are a friend... thanks for making my world such a wonderful place to be in!

15 years

15 years ago my (now husband) and I took his two daughters to dinner at a Mexican restaurant.

The girls locked me in the restroom and made me promise that I'd take their dad to a school performance. I warned them that they were going to regret this. Lol.

With many ups and downs, highs and lows we all have our regrets but our family isn't one of them.

Today we celebrate our first date with calamari and sea food, our 4 youngest and the harbor. Cherish love and family with me!

Pollyana Inspired Grey...'tness

If you ever wonder what inspires me and my cards... it's often fashion, clothing, shoes, purses, etc.  We had a recent tragedy and loss to our family.  I was inspired to pull out a vintage, warm and loving movie that my Nanny often played for me.  Pollyana.  Who doesn't love this movie??  Need a sweet and clean movie?  Pollyana.  Need a good cry?  Pollyana.  Need to have a wholesome movie to make you feel sane?  Pollyana.  A movie that you can watch with your children, grandparents, anyone?  Pollyana.  (Can you tell I needed all of that this weekend?  An old favorite that reminded me of the sweetness of life and my Nanna and all the warmth she invoked in my life...)

I couldn't resist it.... the style of this era is so lovely!  I love old fashioned hats, dresses, coats.. sigh.... I know that this a sad scene of the movie but I love her outfit!

The clean and simple Grey with the white lace collar... the clean lines and buttons at her waist and calf... so lovely!

Here I wanted to create something with a similar feel.  I started off with our Grey card stock as the base.  I used the Whisper White card stock and the Paper Doily Sizzlits L and my Big Shot.  The Doily is easy and stunning.  A Big Shot is a MUST in crafting.

Mini Glue dots will grab the areas with more paper and hold it down sooo well!

I wanted a little more... this looked a little too plain for my tastes.  The Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and Big Shot creates an elegant addition to the card and doily.

I scored the 1/2 mark of the card so that I knew where to place the larger texture embossing folder.  Too, it will make it easier to fold after it's embossed.

It's Soooo worth it!  I LOVE the results!!

Her buttons on the dress have me leaning to do our Antique Brads.  I then went a slightly different route...  Our Pearls!  I LOVE our Adhesive backed Pearl Basic Jewels.  The Large Pearl Basic Jewel fits the center of the doily just perfectly!

From this, elegance but a little plain... too....

The Addition of the three larger pearls from the Basics pack
(it has over 150 pearls per sheet for only $4.95!  WOW!!)

Our Holiday Mini has these sweet Round Designer Ribbon Sliders in a lovely antique silver finish.

Grabbing our 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Grey and my Mini Glue Dots.. I adhered it down for a clean look - mimicking the clean lines of the dress from Pollyana.

Here is my nod to the vintage dress from a favorite movie of mine!  I love the elegance and simplicity of this card.  My husband asked 'Where is the sentiment?' and I told him that one isn't necessary.  If I wanted to add one, I'd probably emboss with either White or Silver INSIDE of the card.

I hope you feel the love this card has.  When was the last time YOU whipped out an old, vintage movie and felt the warmth and goodness of past memories and times.

Wishing you a lovely Grey day!  Stampin' Up! creates such great coordinating accessories... the doily's circle and the round sliders tie in, the pearls... sigh.. just a dream!  Go for it - clean, elegant, simple but lacy... have FUN and remember times of old!

Be of Good Cheer Mittens

Being a California native, I rarely have the pleasure of Snow or real cold weather!  I love that! lol  I do love the accessories of the colder months.. scarves, coats, hats, mittens... sigh...

Here is a sweet card that I created easily for a recent class.

Be of Good Cheer is a stunning pack of Designer Series Paper (DSP) in our Idea Book and Catalog.  The Punch that builds these cute mittens is in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini.  This mitten punch allows me to either tie it into the two different stamp sets that are created for the punch or simply punch paper or DSP on it's own!

The three colors in the DSP is Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Gumball Green.  I used the Gumball Green In-Color card stock as the base of the card.  The Core'dinations Card Stock from the Holiday Mini comes in three colors - I nabbed the Cherry Cobbler and was off and running!!

Simply stamp the sentiment on the Card Stock.  I always do this before adhering the stamped or punched images - less to fix if something doesn't come out as I'd hoped (or time to create an easy fix).
Here the Curly Cute sentiment's Season's Greetings fits in perfectly w/ the feel of the card.  Cherry Cobbler ink stands out and creates a cohesive look in the card.

Running the Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations card stock thru the Stripes Folder and my Big Shot I then sanded the raised stripes.  This is a mono chromatic color combo on the Core paper... it also mimics the stripes in the DSP.  I love the softening, too, of the sanded paper.  The depth that the new texture, raised and sanded adds character to the card, too!  The New Sander in our Holiday Mini is easy on the hand - has two different sanding sizes and you can add or change out the sand pads.

Simply punching out two mittens and the tips come out too!  I flipped the DSP over (we have stunning, coordinated 2 sided Designer Series Paper - makes for easy elegance and cohesiveness).  I like the contrast of the two patterns on the mittens - I'd sooooo own a pair like these.. sigh... lol.
SNAIL adheres the contrasting but coordinating tips to the top of the mittens.

Using Mini Glue dots or SNAIL adhesive to hold the Core'dinations card stock onto to the stamped Gumball Green card I then used the Stampin' Dimensional adhesive on the mitten.  By applying the Dimensional - it will wrap around the texture from the embossed and sanded stripes.  Snail just wouldn't do the job.  Too, the raised mittens are soooo cute!  The Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine ties in perfectly w/ the look and colors and is like little Candy Cane stripes - just like the punched DSP.  I just placed the snipped twine to the Dimensional Adhesive then placed the mittens on the top - the ribbon is perfectly aligned and hidden!

An easy and fun card - just a couple of steps and it's sure to warm whomever you send it to!
Season's Greetings!
Comments are sooo appreciated!  Thanks for looking and feel free to share!

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
