Past watermelon creations

I love the 'memories' that Facebook shares.  I was pleasantly surprised at my past creations in celebration of National Watermelon Day!  What a fun reason to celebrate and create memories for my family.  See these fun past creations and leave me a comment to let me know what you think.

Wrap it up with this awesome memory from four years ago.  Our youngest was 1 and oh-so-cute!  Even then the crafting gene is passed down to my kiddos.

Celebrate life and have fun with the memories you leave with your loved ones.
Happy National Watermelon Day!
Stamping Blessings ~ Jamie

Watermelon hand-stamped card

Celebrate life.  Sometimes it's hard to stay ahead of the demands of my family, work, life and find time to send my cards out on time (and my passion and business is cards!).  I try to find holidays that give me a chance to leave memories for my children and don't require me to do much work (motherhood, I'm just saying).  One of my favorite holidays to celebrate is in honor of one of my favorite fruit - National Watermelon Day is August 3rd!  See this fun card making video tutorial as I am planning some sweet fun for my family this week.  (Comment below what you think and I may send you this card!)

I love taking a different look at crafting (and life).  Here is a fun and easy spin on a stamp design in the Summer Sorbet stamp set.

Create this juicy card when you:
~ Using the 2015-17 In-Color Watermelon Wonder Stampin' Write Marker to color the inner part of the citrus stamp.
~ Use the 2015-17 In-Color Cucumber Crush Stampin' Write Marker to color the 'rind' of this stamp.
~ Using a permanent marker in black to color in the adhesive backed Rhinestone Jewels for a fun watermelon seed look.  Make sure to add one to the citrus center to cover that look.
~ Cut out with our awesome Paper Snips Scissors and adhere to the Whisper White card stock over the Watermelon Wonder car stock base with Stampin' Dimensional adhesive for additional depth.
~  Mimic the fruit design when you use the stamp Stampin' Write Markers to color in this greeting from the One Big Meaning stamp set (packed with many ways to say 'thanks'). Add that fun 'watermelon seed' to the greeting for extra whimsy.

I like mine with a little chili/lime/salt mix. Tajin on my watermelon reminds me of my childhood! (I'm going to try BBQ watermelon as I've seen on Pinterest lol.)

Add a unique twist to your stamped images when you create a custom ink pad to stamp a tie-dyed image.  It's fun to have something unique on your hand-stamped cards that will wow and delight.  (I adore how it made me stand out from the crowd.)

Oh I love, love, looooove the new Confetti Star Boarder Punch.  It pops out these adorable stars that perfectly fit the night sky (as well as other fun uses).  The secret is to STAND when punching.  It gives you leverage and since the punch is punching a ton of tiny stars, it's doing a bunch of work - help it out and avoid getting tired - stand (I count it as burning calories - lol - a bonus!)
I don't celebrate Halloween, we celebrate Fall and Harvest.. but this cute image of a ghost is easy to do with the Fall Framelits - not only do the die-cut the pumpkins, there are leaves and this ghost!  Use the Project Life Journaling Pens to create these eyes.
The Holidays Deliver great reasons to celebrate... and movies to watch!!  I love whipping out my Charlie Brown collection for my children and I to enjoy each year!  This hand-stamped card is a fun nod to my childhood memories; what are your favorite memories?  Leave me a comment and let me know...

Create a cool looking card that is a nod to your Childhood Memories!  Stamping a cute tie-dyed pumpkin on the envelope gives some excitement and a sneak peak to the card within!  I hope that some day my children will put on some Charlie Brown to enjoy with their kids on the various holidays.  Celebrate the seasons and deliver smiles when you create hand-crafted cards and gifts.  This is a great way to send smiles and leave a legacy of love!

It's the end of Summer but I am excitedly planning for the Holidays... well, not really.  I am starting my Holiday Cards because I know that each Holiday Season goes by faster and faster.  Creating something pretty (like this elegant hand-stamped card) that will embody my love of vintage, nature and style makes my heart happy all year - having it done early makes me my heart happy during the holidays - lol.  Join me in creating this Holiday Vintage Card and let me know what you think (leave me a comment and Share this).
Create this Vintage Christmas Card with:
Lovely as a Tree stamp set (wood 128655/ clear 127793)

Gold Foil Sheets (132622)
Basic Black card stock (121045)

The rich combination of Black, Crumb Cake and Gold add to the elegance of this simple nature card. Start this card when you stamp the edges with the pinecone branch using the Jet Black Stazon ink pad.

Soften and distress the edge with the Crumb Cake ink on the Stampin' Sponge.  I love the way that adds depth, softness and age taking this card up a notch.

Do you ever feel that crush of the Holidays, like it's hard to catch your breath, do it all and still capture some memories (I do, sigh)?  Feel LESS Stressed during the holidays when you think ahead! (My friend Christine does a large stack usually in January - she chips away at a bulk of the next year's cards while she has all her Holiday gear out!)  Get a JUMP Start on your Holiday Card making... start NOW!  Consider a fun Private Class (with me) and have your family and friends join you!   I hope that you enjoyed this Christmas in July hand-stamped card.  Don't Miss OUT on Upcoming Classes..   RSVP ASAP.  Delivering a hand-stamped card is the perfect way to show that you care, it's just that much more special!
Stamping the 'Merry Christmas' from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (carefully - this can smear and rock) on the Gold Foil Sheets.  The Jet Black Stazon is one of the few inks to show on the non-porous surface of the Gold Foil Sheets.

Add flair and make a banner after stamping the sentiment when you take the 1" Square Punch to the edges at an angle.  Punching the corner will create this flag.  It raises and shines using the Stampin' Dimensional adhesive.
Stamping this Lovely As A Tree Pine Tree on the Crumb Cake card stock with the Jet Black Stazon ink pad.  Soften the edges of this with our Stampin' Sponge in Crumb Cake ink for a continual softening and aging of this hand-stamped vintage card.
The lines in the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Stylish Lines Embossing Folder* on the Basic Black card stock are a subtle mimic with texture.  Layer the stamped Lovely as a Tree on Crumb Cake card stock over the Striped (make sure the stripes will be the same direction) Typeset piece.  Using the Bone Folder run it across the edges (like you'd do for ribbon on a package) and it will curl for a elegant and distressed look.

Adding the Watercolor Wonder gold accented Designer Washi Tape to this will pick up the gold in the sentiment while breaking up the stripes.  Polka dots are such a cool and classic accent to any project.  Washi tape is a breeze to use!  Simply apply it and then (here I wrapped the edges behind the Basic Black embossed card) and tear it off!

I've never been one to get ahead by pre-planning my gift and crafting... my mom always holiday shopped the next year during the after Christmas sales (I've NEVER been that organized - lol).  Crafting is such fun, doing it now, when there is no holiday stress and creating pretty hand-stamped holiday cards (and decorations, gift wrap, gift bags and more) will free me up to enjoy the holidays more (YAY!)  I hope that you enjoyed this pretty vintage hand-crafted Christmas card and will join me in getting a jump start on the holidays!

It's not easy being green

Spring is knocking at our door...
Are YOU ready for it?!?!
When I think of Spring, I think of St. Patrick's Day!
Here is my nod to the flowers budding, leaves growing on my fruit trees and Oranges growing ripe...
It's coming up green, baby!
This FUN card was created using the
Hearts A Flutter Bundle...
the 15% savings just sweetens the deal! (Spring Mini)
This cute Stamp set and coordinating Framelits Dies makes it Easier than EVER to create a fun four-leaf clover.
My Color Coach
(a FAVORITE tool of mine in the Idea Book & Catalog) suggested Old Olive and Certainly Celery as
Monochromatic siblings...

Using the Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper in Old Olive and the Simply Scored Board and Scoring tool created this cute lolly/rosette as the base for my Good Luck/Love Clover.  I needed a 'break' from the two so using the Medium Doily in the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits L and Big Shot in Whisper White creates a white doily to break them up.
Button UP this card (lol) with our Brights Designer Buttons in Old Olive - awww the flower even looks a little like a clover on a clover!

PEARLS!!!!!
I love the shimmer and elegance from the Pearl...
our Basic Jewels adhesive backed Pearls
fit perfectly in the middle of the buttons.
The Distressed Dots background stamp (Idea Book and Catalog)  with Old Olive ink on the Certainly Celery cardstock mimics the polka dots on the paper and the heart-polka dots on this Lucky In Love Clover...

Now, Green may NOT be my favorite color.. but a certain friend in green was a favorite charector of my childhood.
***
Introducing Kermit the Frog to my kids is a great way to bring sweet memories back to life!
My oldest daughter, Gloria, named this card...
she's 25 this year but still a kid at heart.
(Me, too!!)

The Hearts a Flutter stamp set and coordinating framelits has the CUTEST collection of Flags!  Sooo Trendy!!
Inking this cute Teeny Tiny Wishes in Old Olive I stamped the sentiment 'Happy St. Patrick's Day'.

Thennn I inked Certainly Celery ink on this cute striped flag but then I Stamped OFF - this means you stamp the ink and have an even lighter inked image... it's a perfect background to the sentiment but didn't overwhelm it...

The Basic Pearls Jewels page has long stips of connected adhesive backed pearls - here they frame each side of the flag!  Too the pearls continue the dots of the card...
 Are YOU Lucky In Love??
Do You Feel 'It's Tough Being Green' some days...
(I Love Kermit - lol!)

Have FUN with Hearts - they make a lovely clover!
(Who wouldn't want to be lucky in love - lol.)

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
