Be of Good Cheer Mittens

Being a California native, I rarely have the pleasure of Snow or real cold weather!  I love that! lol  I do love the accessories of the colder months.. scarves, coats, hats, mittens... sigh...

Here is a sweet card that I created easily for a recent class.

Be of Good Cheer is a stunning pack of Designer Series Paper (DSP) in our Idea Book and Catalog.  The Punch that builds these cute mittens is in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini.  This mitten punch allows me to either tie it into the two different stamp sets that are created for the punch or simply punch paper or DSP on it's own!

The three colors in the DSP is Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Gumball Green.  I used the Gumball Green In-Color card stock as the base of the card.  The Core'dinations Card Stock from the Holiday Mini comes in three colors - I nabbed the Cherry Cobbler and was off and running!!

Simply stamp the sentiment on the Card Stock.  I always do this before adhering the stamped or punched images - less to fix if something doesn't come out as I'd hoped (or time to create an easy fix).
Here the Curly Cute sentiment's Season's Greetings fits in perfectly w/ the feel of the card.  Cherry Cobbler ink stands out and creates a cohesive look in the card.

Running the Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations card stock thru the Stripes Folder and my Big Shot I then sanded the raised stripes.  This is a mono chromatic color combo on the Core paper... it also mimics the stripes in the DSP.  I love the softening, too, of the sanded paper.  The depth that the new texture, raised and sanded adds character to the card, too!  The New Sander in our Holiday Mini is easy on the hand - has two different sanding sizes and you can add or change out the sand pads.

Simply punching out two mittens and the tips come out too!  I flipped the DSP over (we have stunning, coordinated 2 sided Designer Series Paper - makes for easy elegance and cohesiveness).  I like the contrast of the two patterns on the mittens - I'd sooooo own a pair like these.. sigh... lol.
SNAIL adheres the contrasting but coordinating tips to the top of the mittens.

Using Mini Glue dots or SNAIL adhesive to hold the Core'dinations card stock onto to the stamped Gumball Green card I then used the Stampin' Dimensional adhesive on the mitten.  By applying the Dimensional - it will wrap around the texture from the embossed and sanded stripes.  Snail just wouldn't do the job.  Too, the raised mittens are soooo cute!  The Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine ties in perfectly w/ the look and colors and is like little Candy Cane stripes - just like the punched DSP.  I just placed the snipped twine to the Dimensional Adhesive then placed the mittens on the top - the ribbon is perfectly aligned and hidden!

An easy and fun card - just a couple of steps and it's sure to warm whomever you send it to!
Season's Greetings!
Comments are sooo appreciated!  Thanks for looking and feel free to share!

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
