RePurposed Wine Gift

When my sister-in-law's birthday came up
I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to create!!
HERE with a Wine Stopper from a bottle that she gave away at their last family party - they'd found a great wine that was named 'Gina' - just like my sister-in-law...

I save all the wine stoppers, in an old vase on my counter, so that I'll some day create a fun Pinterest inspired art... but saving this one had me planning out this gift for a long while!!
When I wanted to give her a Chocolate Red wine - yes, even non-drinkers are warming to the idea, lol.... I knew I had to Top it with something pretty, something fashionable and sparkling - like my sister-in-law who is alllll about clothes (she is a close second to myyyyy love of clothes - lol).
Here is the Wine cork....
Hot Knife....
Taking a Butcher Knife and heating the edges across our stove flame - the Hot knife makes for a Quick and Sharp cut - I did it 1/2 way down, pulled it back, reheated and did the other 1/2.  This caused a sharp and seared edge with less effort.
SUPER Magnets, hot glued here to each half, - I purchased mine on Amazon during Stampin' Up!'s convention in 2012.  I watched them use magnets to hold notes down and they'd discussed Super Magnets... I Amazon'ed it on my Iphone and had it shipped to my home... I LOVE Technology, don't you?!?!  While I sat at convention, shipments were going to my home!
With Pool Party Paper and our Manhattan Flower Folder Textured Embossing folder and my Big Shot (Idea Book and Catalog) this 3" wide bottle topper is the perfect backdrop to our Wine Topper.

This Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper in Island Indigo is cool enough of a pattern to be Gina's style... The Basic Jewels adhesive backed Rhinestones come in Strips!!  I love that this lined up bling fits perfectly across the bottom!
Tying It Up... with our Island Indigo satin ribbon keeps the topper on and when the magnets are removed,
it is still pretty!
Using a Bottle Cap behind the Bottle Topper is a discreet way to hold the magnets to the pretty cardstock.
(We brought the actual bottle, too, as my mother-in-law recycles all the bottles for her sauces and pickling.- Old School Repurposing, lol)
Even if you don't drink wine - or Chocolate Red Wine (yummm), this is a fun gift and easy to do!

I know that my Fashion loving Sister-In-Law is sure to love this personalized gift.  With her son bringing home school papers and artwork and these Super Magnets will be a fun way to display these valuable papers.

What will YOU RePurpose?
Create a fun gift out of what some would toss?
Make a fun and fashionable topper quickly, easily and with maximum impact!  The Wine Stopper magnets are a fun way to add to our Card Stock that is pretty on it's own.

Look around your home and see what YOU can do with what would previously have been tossed out!  Our Papers, Embellishments, Ribbons, Stamps, Big Shot and accessories make it easy to take what is previously deemed as no-good into a wonderful gift or accessory around your home!

Setting the Table

I LOVE that adding little dashes can make any occasion special and worthy of cheering!

As we set the table for this Easter Dinner...
I couldn't resist pulling our the nice China dishes, crystal water glasses and celebrating with a little Paper Crafting fun!!
This stunning paper, from the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper (Spring Mini) creates a stunning setting with a place mat, napkin ring, glass ring and name card.

The beautiful patterned paper is 12"x12" so I cut one sheet and adhered it to each side with our SNAIL adhesive.  The patterns match and though different are a fun way to dress up the table!
(The place mats I own - we use for camping - but they are only 15" long - so doing this as a 18" long mat allows for room for the larger 'formal' plates.)
Wrap it up!
The napkins, that is... here a 2" strip of the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper is accented by our 5/8" Flower Trim (Spring Mini).  This Vanilla vintage material rose is colored with our Primrose Petal ink pad.  It even resembles the flowers on the paper!

The 7/8" Scallop Circle punch adds a break and the pattern (from the opposite side of our double sided paper) is perfectly dyed to match!
Wrapping the Stem of the crystal water glass is fun - and if you want to go an extra step, create a Stem Marker by punching the paper and adding an initial for that person!

I'm not sure that name cards are in fashion - unless at a wedding - but what a fun way to say something nice while marking a person's spot!
With out the plate, you can see the pretty patterns!
This 'stitched' paper makes it easier than ever to look like you have done a ton with little effort!  Mixed patterns are so trendy and this quilted look is a fun way to mix mediums and patterns!
Clean Up is a breeze - you can either re-use the paper to create something or if dirty (like the settings that will be at my children's pates - lol) toss away any evidence.  I know that my kids would love to play making 'art' with any leftovers - a perfect way to keep them busy and out of trouble while we play a card or board game!
Celebrate family and friends when they gather!
This little effort goes a far way to show that you care and that the guest is special.
(Makes you look amazing, too - lol.)

As I have lost many family members and elders over the past few years - I will always revel in the memories of a hot round of Canasta after the holiday meals... Monopoly and Mexican Train... with a bunch of my family gone these days... I can't get those memories back.  Don't waste a single moment of time with those you love.. life is too precious!  Celebrate life, love and family!!

Celebrate Friends!!

My sweet little girl was invited to a softball-teammate's birthday party.  The two girls even live near each other in our Equestrian estates... so this is the card we created for the horse riding birthday party!  (I love creating cards with my daughters.... my friends, too - lol.)
I adore our Tea for Two Designer Series Paper (Spring Mini) and these adorable paper doilies (Spring Mini).  These Tea Lace Doilies come in White ($2.95 for 24! WOW!!)... but I wanted more than white... I wanted a warm color.... so join me - let's change this doily into a So Saffron one!!
Start off by stamping the items you want on the doily... here I stamped in Early Espresso Ink this sweet Little Friends stamp set (Idea Book & Catalog).

Stamp the images/girls on a sticky note and cut out.
Cover the images with the stamped sticky notes that you cut out.... then Brayer the doily with So Saffron ink... the Doily absorbs the color and when you remove the covered/masked girls they are white!
This sweet quilted Tea for Two paper is a perfect frame for this transformed Doily!!
Though the paper looks stitched and quilted, I couldn't resist adding this textured Needlepoint Border Textured Impressions Embossing Folders and Big Shot to the end... the sweet texture is a fun way to add an embellishment.
Coloring in the girls with our Stampin' Write Markers is a fun way to add character - too, it ties into the color of the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper.  Using the Stampin' Write Marker makes it easy to accent the embossed 'stitches' with a Crumb Cake accent.

The sweetness of this image, papers, doily... the luminescent pearls button it up.  These Pearls from the Basic Jewels adhesive backed sheet are ideal!  Perfect accents on the Doily and card.
I love that my baby girl has such a sweet friend.
This card captures that sweetness, doesn't it?!?!
Here is my little princess...
her new obsession is taking riding lessons - lol.

As I work on that for her and her siblings...
I'm glad to have captured these memories!!

What party memories do YOU have...
ones that are the highlight of your life?!?!

RePurposed Sugar Container

What does one do with an empty Truvia container?!?!
Make a Sugar Container....
and make it pretty!!!!
We have a 'Coffee, Tea & Cocoa Bar' at our home - I love variety and have a ton of each!  So we also offer sweatners in varying needs... my Diabetic husband uses Truvia and handed me an empty container one day... I have a bowl for my sugar but wanted something better... HERE it is!!
Now we will have the Truvia container that is ideal
with a Pop Up lid for our Sugar...
what a fun way to re-purpose this container!!
Cleaning out the container - I then went to town on the lid....
The Tea for Two Designer Series Paper (Spring Mini) is soooo darling!  Vintage with a pretty mixed pattern/quilted look...
This paper is Double Sided (like all of our DSP) and I used the Cameo Coral polka dot side for the base!  The 2-1/2" circle punch fits perfectly on the Jumbo Sticky Rounds (Spring and Holiday Minis) to adhere directly to the lid!

Flipping the paper over with this punched out 2-3/8" scallop circle punch is easy and coordinates perfectly!!
Using the new Early Espresso firm ink pads - they are sooo juicy that they will actually - if you move quickly - allow you to emboss!!  (WOW!!) This Morning Cup stamp set fits me for my hot drinks (I'm usually cold - so hot drinks help me out - lol.)  Iridescent Ice embossing powder adds a dash of bling to this cup and sentiment... the Heat Gun is easier than ever to use and embossing on Vellum (Idea Book & Catalog for both) is easy peasy, lemon squeezey!
Our Stampin' Write Markers are a fun way to color in the cups... they also coordinate with the colors in the papers!
Another Jumbo Sticky Round (Spring Mini) adheres this embossed Vellum piece across the top!
Wrapping a Strip around the bottle is a fun way to continue the patterns... this 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch centers and covers the edges as they meet!  This Punched 'S' for sugar comes out easy on card stock with our Big Shot... rubbing the S into the Marina Mist ink pad and embossing with more Iridescent Ice embossing powder continues the fun bling!
How Sweet It Is...
Re-Using this container while making it pretty...
I LOVE it!!

What can YOU re-use/re-purpose?!?!
I LOVE that our Papers, Punches and crafting is for MORE than just cards and scrapbooks!
Being Eco-Friendly is also Wallet friendly - lol - as this is a great plastic container that fits my needs and doesn't cost me anything while benefiting the Earth!  It's prettier, too!

Sparkle Egg

Have you heard of the Christmas Pickle?!?!
The tradition of decorating Christmas trees originated in Germany in the sixteenth century, and spread throughout Europe and to the United States, with different areas using different types of ornaments. Some Christmas tree decorations are sold with an accompanying legend. One legend of uncertain origin is the tradition of the Christmas pickle.

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
