Creative Ribbon Storage

It's almost laughable... I've always been creative and I've always been a little messy.  Part of being creative is having soooo many wonderful things you want to use.  So this year I have a goal to get organized - to find missing items, find a place for everything and to de-clutter!  So I was researching some fun and creative ways to organize one of my favorite creative accessories - my RIBBON!!  See these fun ideas that that save money by repurposing items around my home.
My husband laughs when I state something like this..
With FUN Options in Gettin' Creative Stampin' and Organizin' I can see how easy it'd be to use these fun systems.  The Wall Mounted one is the route I'm going to go, with the sheer amount of ribbon I have and hoard.. I need a ton of space to use them.

So, I may not be ultra organized but as my friend and fellow stamper, Ashley, likes to say that she's always amazed that I know right where that ribbon, accessory or stamp is!  (Much like my CPA husband who has stacks and stacks of paper work and can usually find that one piece he needs - lol.)  Save money and the planet by repurposing and recycling what you have around the home in your mission for organization.  Leave me a comment, what storage solution suits YOU the best??  Please share this with your friends and family, Pin, Facebook and email.

Spring On My Counter! Repurposing Jars for Great Gifts and Decorations!!

I hate throwing away jars!  There has to be a way to reuse them!!  We save many for my Italian Mother In Law, she pickles and marinates the veggies from her garden. I like to find creative uses for the jars in my home, too.  I may not pickle or marinate vegetables but I do like to make pretty repurposed items!  See how to easily take an empty used candle jar and remake it anew (and pretty, too)!  See, too, the secret way to quickly and cleanly (while staying eco friendly) way to remove the excess wax and labels on the jar!!
Create this lovely repurposed jar with:
Gumball Green card stock (#126840)
Gumball Stitched Satin Ribbon (#126848)
Fringe Scissors (#133325)
Glue Dots (#103683)

HURRY as they go away March 31st!!
SHOPPING SPREE for a MYSTERY HOSTESS!!  Place an order using THIS Hostess Code (At check-out enter:  FPVUB3DD ) On-Line or Email me directly by March 30th and I will select a Mystery Hostess for FREE HOSTESS DOLLARS in a Shopping Spree on March 31st!!  YES - still earn FREE Sale~A~Bration items for every $50 you enter!
No matter how you use it, a repurposed jar is a fun way to decorate or give a gift!  I always save the lids on my candles - this makes for a fun way to cap off  a gift.  Here Repurposing this Candle Jar into my Spring Decorations for some Kitchen Cheer is easier than you'd expect (and can live year to year).
I seriously use my candles with five different onesw around my home - I like to mix my scents while making my home smell yummy (again, 6 kids and animals, it doesn't always smell yummy).

So - the biggest hesitation I have in repurposing a jar is getting it clean!  I have to confess - I LOVE my NORWEX ** eco friendly cleaning products!!
(EMAIL Me or Call Me at (805)300-3679 to order or ask about these products!!**

Here I froze the jars after the wax in my candle wouldn't burn any longer.  So for an hour, freeze your jar.  Remove and use a blunt, narrow instrument (like a butter knife) along the edges - it will break apart of come up in one piece.  Remove the wax and set aside (I even re-use this).

**Yes, I adore my Stampin' Up! Business but I also sell Norwex - the Eco Friendly line of cleaning products ROCK.  With 6 kids, a Huge Dog, Hubby and more animals... I need all the help I can get to keep my home clean.

I scrubbed the dark smoke stains off the jar with a scrubber and dish soap (the Norwex Dish Soap is an Enzyme soap - it's amazing!!).

Using the Enviro Cloth and their Norwex Cleansing Paste the excess wax, smoke, and even the adhesive from the labels wipes off with ease!  Using the Norwex Polish Cloth, this shines better than brand new!!

Most Norwex Products use Water Alone to clean, are Eco Friendly and Safe!!  Norwex is also Antibacterial!!  Naturally!!  With the micro silver woven into it's cloths, it is self cleaning and cleans better than Lysol or Bleach - while being safer!!  Email or call me (805)300-3679 with any questions - this can ship anywhere - let's talk!

I took the excess wax that still smelled so good and broke it into pieces!!  Cleaning the Wax Cup on my light up 'candle' is always hard - unless you use the Norwex Enviro Cloth and WATER!!  So with a clean bowl, the excess wax makes for a spice scented restroom!! (yay)

Create this Spring Grass jar with the Let's Celebrate Occasions Mini's   Fringe Scissors!!  Leaving 1/2" for the base I cut the rest with the Fringe Scissors for this grassy feel!  Adhere to the jar using the Glue Dots.

(Candle and sauce jars are usually extra thick, strong and hold up to handling and heat - so these are more expensive if bought at a store.  Save some green when you save the planet by reusing and repurposing!!)
Tie on some love... this matching Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon.  This jar now has a new lease on life!  Perfect to add a gift inside or decorate a counter or desk!!
Eco Friendly?  Love it!!  Here these Bamboo utensils are decorating our counter with the aide of this pretty glass Spring repurposed jar!

Give a New Life to your Old Jars!  Repurposing this Candle Jar (or any jar) is a great way to save money, help the Earth and create a great gift or decoration!!  Stop tossing or recycling your containers - find a new life for them!!  Make it light up with a battery operated light or add some yummy candies for a great gift!  No matter HOW you use it, this is a great way to feel better about doing your part to save the planet while saving some green!!

RePurpose that Bottle!! Make a vase from a vintage sarsaparilla bottle

I was raised in the dawn of recycling as a kid... I remember the beginnings of this trend that is going even stronger these days!  So taking and Recycling, Repurposing and Reusing items is a fun way to incorporate this Eco Friendly way of life!!  Combining one of my favorite places, with my favorite past time and being eco-friendly... what a fun way to play today!

What do you think?!?  Leave me a comment and let me know. Share this, Pin, Facebook, Email, Tweet, Google+ and FOLLOW ME on these paths.... on YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and more, too!
We adore our time at the Lake... Big Bear Lake is our regular go-to for a quick escape.  We love that with the lake views we have, from our room, to the fun excursions and family time.  Bringing these Sarsaparilla bottles home from a recent tour of the adorable Big Bear Museum... I had in mind to transfer them to a sweet vase!!

OK so I'm not 100% sold on how they came out.. but they are a fun trip down a new crafting path with something old looking.
I was so excited to capture this rainbow from the view off our deck... the lake is our place of rest and refuge...
When our youngest finally tuckered out, awww... the Lake lends itself to our getting some deep rest... I hope this project brings you some refreshment.
My hubby knows.. his wife loves vintage root beer... sarsaparilla brings back memories of my beloved Grandparents, Dad (who look down on us) and my Aunt De (who still kicks my tushy.. lol).

So I snagged and brought home these bottles from our recent trip.
Vintage paper works with this vintage bottle.  Etcetera Designer Series Paper packet (#130129) is a great antique style collection.

Wrapping the bottle in Baked Brown Sugar card stock (#131296) for a neutral bottle look.
My hubby and the gang on the bridge to the ol' tavern at the Big Bear Museum.  We couldn't wait to taste the sarsaparilla!!
Adding a bead of hot glue to the Etcetera paper and applying the Baked Brown Sugar Ruffled Stretch Trim (#130022) for a feminine accent.
Using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool (#122334) and scoring every 1/4" of this 1-1/2" x 12" strip of this Lacy page.  Hot glue to the front of this bottle.. it reminds me of a fan in an old fashioned watering hole.

Adding an accent to the center of this Lolly/Rosette with our Antique Brads (#117273) and the adhesive backed Large Pearl Basic Jewels (#125577) inside of the Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons (#127555).  This 'closes' the open gap of the Lolly/Rosette while adding an additional level of vintage elegance.  Hot glue fills the center and a bead of hot glue around the opening holds the top in place.
Wrapped for a fun view from the back to the front.
It warms my hear that you came by today.  I try to post daily and would love to know what you think of this and my projects with a comment and a share!  Bring your friends along.. for this tour of the good ol' times.

Go ahead, grab some of those old bottles you were about to toss in the recycling bin... make them into something new!  I could just imagine this on the kitchen window of a country farm... Re-Purposing allows for new life to be given to something old.. while saving a little bit of the Earth!!  (It looks fun and funky - trendy and vintage, too!)  What will YOU Re-Purpose and Reuse?!  Leave me a comment and let me know!  Take a new look at something old!!

RePurposed Wine Gift

When my sister-in-law's birthday came up
I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to create!!
HERE with a Wine Stopper from a bottle that she gave away at their last family party - they'd found a great wine that was named 'Gina' - just like my sister-in-law...

I save all the wine stoppers, in an old vase on my counter, so that I'll some day create a fun Pinterest inspired art... but saving this one had me planning out this gift for a long while!!
When I wanted to give her a Chocolate Red wine - yes, even non-drinkers are warming to the idea, lol.... I knew I had to Top it with something pretty, something fashionable and sparkling - like my sister-in-law who is alllll about clothes (she is a close second to myyyyy love of clothes - lol).
Here is the Wine cork....
Hot Knife....
Taking a Butcher Knife and heating the edges across our stove flame - the Hot knife makes for a Quick and Sharp cut - I did it 1/2 way down, pulled it back, reheated and did the other 1/2.  This caused a sharp and seared edge with less effort.
SUPER Magnets, hot glued here to each half, - I purchased mine on Amazon during Stampin' Up!'s convention in 2012.  I watched them use magnets to hold notes down and they'd discussed Super Magnets... I Amazon'ed it on my Iphone and had it shipped to my home... I LOVE Technology, don't you?!?!  While I sat at convention, shipments were going to my home!
With Pool Party Paper and our Manhattan Flower Folder Textured Embossing folder and my Big Shot (Idea Book and Catalog) this 3" wide bottle topper is the perfect backdrop to our Wine Topper.

This Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper in Island Indigo is cool enough of a pattern to be Gina's style... The Basic Jewels adhesive backed Rhinestones come in Strips!!  I love that this lined up bling fits perfectly across the bottom!
Tying It Up... with our Island Indigo satin ribbon keeps the topper on and when the magnets are removed,
it is still pretty!
Using a Bottle Cap behind the Bottle Topper is a discreet way to hold the magnets to the pretty cardstock.
(We brought the actual bottle, too, as my mother-in-law recycles all the bottles for her sauces and pickling.- Old School Repurposing, lol)
Even if you don't drink wine - or Chocolate Red Wine (yummm), this is a fun gift and easy to do!

I know that my Fashion loving Sister-In-Law is sure to love this personalized gift.  With her son bringing home school papers and artwork and these Super Magnets will be a fun way to display these valuable papers.

What will YOU RePurpose?
Create a fun gift out of what some would toss?
Make a fun and fashionable topper quickly, easily and with maximum impact!  The Wine Stopper magnets are a fun way to add to our Card Stock that is pretty on it's own.

Look around your home and see what YOU can do with what would previously have been tossed out!  Our Papers, Embellishments, Ribbons, Stamps, Big Shot and accessories make it easy to take what is previously deemed as no-good into a wonderful gift or accessory around your home!

RePurposed Sugar Container

What does one do with an empty Truvia container?!?!
Make a Sugar Container....
and make it pretty!!!!
We have a 'Coffee, Tea & Cocoa Bar' at our home - I love variety and have a ton of each!  So we also offer sweatners in varying needs... my Diabetic husband uses Truvia and handed me an empty container one day... I have a bowl for my sugar but wanted something better... HERE it is!!
Now we will have the Truvia container that is ideal
with a Pop Up lid for our Sugar...
what a fun way to re-purpose this container!!
Cleaning out the container - I then went to town on the lid....
The Tea for Two Designer Series Paper (Spring Mini) is soooo darling!  Vintage with a pretty mixed pattern/quilted look...
This paper is Double Sided (like all of our DSP) and I used the Cameo Coral polka dot side for the base!  The 2-1/2" circle punch fits perfectly on the Jumbo Sticky Rounds (Spring and Holiday Minis) to adhere directly to the lid!

Flipping the paper over with this punched out 2-3/8" scallop circle punch is easy and coordinates perfectly!!
Using the new Early Espresso firm ink pads - they are sooo juicy that they will actually - if you move quickly - allow you to emboss!!  (WOW!!) This Morning Cup stamp set fits me for my hot drinks (I'm usually cold - so hot drinks help me out - lol.)  Iridescent Ice embossing powder adds a dash of bling to this cup and sentiment... the Heat Gun is easier than ever to use and embossing on Vellum (Idea Book & Catalog for both) is easy peasy, lemon squeezey!
Our Stampin' Write Markers are a fun way to color in the cups... they also coordinate with the colors in the papers!
Another Jumbo Sticky Round (Spring Mini) adheres this embossed Vellum piece across the top!
Wrapping a Strip around the bottle is a fun way to continue the patterns... this 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch centers and covers the edges as they meet!  This Punched 'S' for sugar comes out easy on card stock with our Big Shot... rubbing the S into the Marina Mist ink pad and embossing with more Iridescent Ice embossing powder continues the fun bling!
How Sweet It Is...
Re-Using this container while making it pretty...
I LOVE it!!

What can YOU re-use/re-purpose?!?!
I LOVE that our Papers, Punches and crafting is for MORE than just cards and scrapbooks!
Being Eco-Friendly is also Wallet friendly - lol - as this is a great plastic container that fits my needs and doesn't cost me anything while benefiting the Earth!  It's prettier, too!

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
