50th Wedding Anniversary

Celebrate!
Life, Love, Unions, Births, Graduations, Longevity, Growth, Promotions... oh, the list goes on and on...
One of Myyyyy favorite celebrations is Anniversaries.  I am blessed to come from a lineage of long-love filled-Christ loving marriages.  So celebrating a monumental moment like a 50th Wedding is something I can't wait to jump on!
This 5"x7" Very Vanilla card stock (#101650) base is embossed with Gold Embossing Powder (#109129), Versa Mark watermark pad (#102285) and my Heat Tool (#129053).  This stunning Everything Eleanor stamp set (#124162) is versatile with elements and nature!
When my friend Deliz called and asked for my assistance with a situation, I was curious what she needed.  She described the invitations that she ordered on-line, that they looked amazing with raised gold and elegance "on-line" but when she received them they were flat, dull, little elegance or class... especially for her parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary!

We spent a little time and visited while building a card that she and her sister actually liked!  I love that I had time to do a custom order and help a friend in the process!
Embossing Gold Powder on our Brushed Gold card stock (#102935) is SUCH an elegant and rich look while being super easy to accomplish!
Layering this 'Gilded edged' Gold Embossed 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punched Very Vanilla piece is an elegance base for the Brushed Gold card stock Numbers punched with my BigZ dies (#127553)and Big Shot (#113439).
Printing the Invitation on the back and embossing the envelopes is a great way to encourage others to join in on the Celebrations!

My favorite childhood memories are wrapped around our family reunion for our extended family from across the nation.  I was nine when my grandparents celebrated 50 years of love, overcoming challenges of a lost child, family passing away and growing anew... I STILL Cherish those memories of family, friends & laughter.
(My Grandmother passed away shortly before their 70th wedding anniversary - wow!!) I'm beyond blessed by this lineage!!

What do YOU Celebrate?!?!
Whom do You Celebrate??  Take a moment and look at who and what you can celebrate, honor and join in on another's achievement.  Life is hard, celebrating can bring Joy into it!!

Colorful Inspirations

I was blessed to create a card session for our Women's Retreat up in the mountains....

Getting away is a rare treat... getting away with out the responsibilities of our families, cooking, cleaning, etc... that's a miracle!  I wanted to create something fun, memorable, and as special and bright as the ladies I'm blessed to grow and walk through life with...
HERE is my creation... and what do you think? (leave me a comment and let me know...)
Inspired by a sweet scrapbook page that I couldn't resist pinning this page and transferring it to a card!

One of my favorite tools is the Color Coach!  It shows me fun combos to pull together while looking amazing and coordinated (shhh, I even use it in my wardrobe for inspiration... lol).  It pulled Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise together and the monochromatic sibling of Pretty In Pink for the Melon Mambo.
Layering this combo is easy...  Embossing with Clear embossing powder (#109130) and my Heat Tool (#129053) and Versa Mark pad (#102283) the Swallowtail stamp (#129216) on our First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper (#121878).

Brayer the lightest to the darkest color... I started with Daffodil Delight ink (126944) then built up with Pretty In Pink* ink (#126955) then topped it off with Melon Mambo ink (#126948).  *Pretty In Pink is going away!  All the coordinating Papers, Inks, Accessories and more are going away...
Rub it... Yes, grab a napkin, sponge or baby wipe and rub the embossed section so that the ink that rests on top comes off of the gloss.  The pattern of type pops through even more and the edges of the embossed paper curls when it has absorbed ink and the baby wipes added some additional moisture.  Liking the curled look I added a elements under and over the image and left room around the edges, adhering the butterfly paper on with Stampin' Dimensional adhesive to raise the dimension.

Tucking a Tempting Turquoise 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" cut card stock under adds additional dimension.
The Bitty Butterfly punch (#129406) and Tempting Turquoise card stock (#102067) create fun little dancing butterflies.  They float above the project with the use of our Stampin' Dimensional Adhesive (#104430).
Come Play Along.... Word Play greeting stamp set (#120308) is a fun way to deliver soooo many greetings!  I love that it gave the ladies some variety to play with their sentiments... variety isss the spice of life, they say..

With such a wonderful group of ladies, tons of fun, laughter, nature and hikes, zip lining, canoeing, archery, worship and inspirational challenges... I'm blessed to have lead some card making time with 20+ women!

Have YOU seen the line-up of my fun classes??  There are MANY to chose from!!

Zip line fun

I have to laugh... Some but little rest comes this weekend. Yes, then again, I am still being refreshed.

I've been hiking, connecting with women and with out my kids... Wow. I lead a card making session with nearly 20 women...

Our speaker, Gwen Smith, reminded me to "Be Present, Do Not Miss the Beauty!" Amen sista. (Her books, emailed devotions and songs are amazing!)

I'm heading home tomorrow to my kids (two won their baseball and softball games today and my baby girls team is #2 in their division!) and husband, animals and home.... Here is a snippet of my life as I encourage YOU to see and not miss the beauty.... Blessings!!

Rest

"Rest is not something we do; it is what comes when we cease to do." Aw Tozer.

This weekend I am at my church's Women's Retreat called "Uncluttered".

May YOU find Rest and Peace in life!

(Look on Sunday afternoon for some amazing posts I forgot to upload before I left, lol. Sick kids hindered my week. Hugs)

Birthday Fan Fair

Every Birthday should be a Fan  Fair!!
Celebrate in style... Eat your cake, blow out your candles..
and don't forget to make a wish!
This sweet card was easy to do and did not require me to whip out my sewing machine (lol)!  Created with a
~Pink Pirouette card stock (#111351) base and
~ layering a Crumb Cake card stock (#120953) and
~ using our Fan Fair Designer Series Paper (#126918),
~ 1" Circle Punch (#119868),
~  Bitty Butterfly punch (#129406)
~  Paper Piercing Tool (#126189)
~  Paper Piercing Mat (#126199)
~ Essentials Paper Piercing Pack (#126187)
~Delightful Dozen greeting stamp set (#122652)
Black Ball Point Pen...
Inspired by this sweet Pin off of Pinterest... when a Scrapbook Page can inspire a sweet card, I could always use an excuse to scroll along the Pinterest road... (te, he, he)
Punching these circles out of the Fan Fair DSP and alternating sides, build a circle of circles.
I'm showing this backwards... but...
Layer the Piercing Guide Circle over the circle and pierce on top of the mat. (This is very quick when you have these easy guides and the right tools.)

Connect the dots... literally.... with my black inked pen.  I loosely stitched these as I wanted a real stitched look and when I sew, lol, it may look just like this!
Easy and fun, my kids can even do this!
With Island Indigo ink (#126986) stamped on the printed Pink Pirouette DSP this layers over with our Stampin' Dimensional Adhesive (#104430) for a little more depth.
Alternating sides of the punched Bitty Butterflies ties in as it's coordinated and adds a funky element!
Stitched with out any string - it looks and even feels pretty real - while created in less than a minute!
I love that inspiration can come from others... I haven't 'fake' stitched in quite a while and rarely build anything out of my punches... so this took me out of my comfort zone while creating a beautiful, clean and quick project!

What do you think?
What element do YOU like on this card??
Leave me a comment and let me know!
Share this sweet card, Pin it, Facebook and Tweet it... and hopefully it may inspire another's creation!!

Wedding Dress Inspirations

Shhh - I have a secret addiction...
I blame my kids but, seriously, it's all me!
Weddings!
I LOVE THEM!!
As my Oldest is in a serious relationship... I use this as an excuse for my watching all the wedding shows on TLC...
THIS card was inspired by Brenda Novak (a favorite author of mine) and our recent discussion of weddings...
Inspired by this sweet Scrapbook Page from a Pinterest Pin, this card came to life....

Using our English Ivy Simple Sentiments (Catalog #127538) and our All Dressed Up Framelits Dies (Spring Mini #131095) with my Big Shot (Catalog #113439) and cutting these dresses out with the lace pattern across the bust.
SUCH a lovely dress, isn't it?!?!
With our Artisan Embellishment Kit (Spring Mini #129328) this stunning lace is ideal for this project!  Cut in 1/2 with our Paper Snips (Catalog #103579) is a great way to stretch the ribbon and not overwhelm the card.
With Delightful Dozen (Catalog #122650) greetings set this Congratulations celebrates the special moment.  Embossed with our White Embossing Powder (#109132) and my quiet Heat Tool (#129053).  Framing it with our adhesive backed Pearl Basic Jewels (#119247) and along the bust of the dress adds a little luster.
Using our Brushed Gold  (#102935) card stock run through my Big Shot and the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (#127819) for a luxurious frame.
Layering these 1-1/2" squares of lacy embossed Brushed Gold card stock along a 2" strip of Very Vanilla (#101650) card stock.  The Crumb Cake (#120953) card stock base is warm and neutral while elegant and trendy!
This is a sweet card that any bride would love to receive!  Now, if only I knew TRIPLETS that were getting married at the same time, it'd be extra special... hmmmm... lol...

A Lucky Collage

Do YOU Feel LUCKY?!?!
I LOVE that line from Dirty Harry - memories of watching it with my Dear Ol' Dad.
HERE with Lucky Limeade* and Collage Curios...
a simple and sweet card comes to life.
Our Tea for Two Designer Series Paper (Spring Mini #129311) is the fun patterned paper on this Lucky Limeade* card stock base.

Ruffle up some feathers... or just some ribbon (ha, ha, ha) with our 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon in (Catalog #122977) Lucky Limeade*
(with so many coordinating products, it's easy to create a quick card that is sure to WOW!).
Our Collage Curios stamp set (Spring Mini #129102)maybe one of my favorite stamp sets.  I LOVE that it perfectly coordinates with our 1" Circle Punch (Catalog #119868).  Here, layering for a dash of shine is easy with our Soda Pop Tops (Spring Mini #129388).  Running the Pop Tops thru my Big Shot makes the edges smooth out and soften - laying the tops flatter.
Layering this pretty Lucky Limeade* and Island Indigo stamped Collage Curios medallion over the squished Soda Pop Top and then over the Ruffled Ribbon, an elegant - for every use - card is created.

Our adhesive backed Pearl Basic Jewels (Catalog #119247) come in three sizes and with 150 per sheet, they are long lasting for ONLY $4.95! (That is LESS than craft stores and our quality is superior!!)  The smallest fits PERFECTLY in the middle of our sweet Island Indigo (Catalog #126986) inked butterfly.
** Feel Lucky... but our Lucky Limeade Inks, Papers, Ruffled Ribbons, Brads and more are
GOING AWAY!!

Loving Heart

Less is MORE?!?!
HARDLY!!
I want it ALL!!
Thissss Card has it ALL and
may even have the kitchen sink hidden inside,
HA, HA, HA!!
Please see ALL of these sweet little details and let me know what you think with a comment!
I don't usually have SUCH a collection of items... but when I was challenged to use a Scrapbooking layout to inspire a card.. I took my birthday pedi and perused Pinterest to see some fun inspiration.  HERE is a beautiful layout that I transferred into this sweet card!
Isn't it fun but challenging to create this card from this layout?  I used MANY elements to create this WOW card!
I started with our More Amore Designer Series Paper with this beautiful 'a Loving Heart is the truest wisdom'.  Framing it with our Brushed Silver cardstock that was run through the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (Spring Mini) and Big Shot.  Using my Elegant Butterfly (Idea Book & Catalog) and my Bitty Butterfly (Spring Mini) Punches to pop out these textured butterflies.

With my Ciao, Baby! stamp set (Spring Mini) I captured this LOVE sentiment that perfectly coordinates with the Petite Curly Label Punch (Sale~A~Bration) and layering this perfectly punched dash of love with another sheet of our More Amore Designer Series Paper in the Curly Label Punch (Idea Book & Catalog).  Adding this Paper Clip Heart from our Cute Clips Elements collection (Spring Mini) is a fun dash of more love.

TOP it off (literally, lol) with our Collage Curios

Stamping OFF - this technique is a great way to get the look you may be seeking!  Simply Stamp Once and see the Darkest image, Continue to Stamp... and each image will get lighter!  Here with Basic Grey ink this Collage Curios scripted circle once stamped twice became the lighter look that I liked.

Layering the Real Red inked Rose over this to tie in the Real Red and Basic Grey of the Designer Series Paper.  Punched out easily with our 1" Circle Punch and layered over our Soda Pop Top that I ran through my Big Shot and flattened a little bit.  (Flattening it also softens the edges a little.)
With our BEAUTIFUL Vintage Dimensional Flower Trim rubbed into the Real Red stamp pad.  These two tone roses now resemble my beloved Double Delight Roses... sigh... and fit perfectly in this card!
With our Glimmer Brads and Antique Brads add fun vintage elements to this card and are an easy way to embellish!
Tie this sweet card up with our Vintage Faceted Designer Series Buttons and our 3/8" Pretty In Pink Taffeta Ribbon (Idea Book & Catalog) is a sweet way to wrap it up!

From the Large Pearl Basic Jewels (Idea Book & Catalog) and the Large Rhinestone Basic Jewels (Spring Mini) add luxury and Bling to this card.  Grouped in three is appealing to the eye, who knew it was cool to be 'odd'?!?! (ha, ha, ha)
When you pull all of these elements together, it's a different but awesome, multi element project inspired by a stunning scrapbook page!  This More Amore Designer Series Paper even has an aged/colored edge in Basic Grey.  Layering this over the Basic Grey card stock is easy peasy!
WHO would YOU give this card too and why?!?!
Leave me a comment -
you may get this card sent to YOU to use!!

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
