Some of my favorite childhood memories involved my Nanna's Tea pot, a sturdy silver kettle pot, and our chats over hot tea at her round dining table.
My dearest friend Kate and I share a love of tea, tea kettles and long chats at our dining tables...
oh, the world of being a woman, eh?
HERE is a sweet card that ties in these sweet memories, what do you think of it??
Starting with a So Saffron card stock I stamped the Hello Doily in So Saffron for a subtle background.
Incorporating our Tea for Two Designer Series Paper (Spring Mini) for a sweet 'quilted' mixed media accent. Our adhesive backed Pearl* Basic Jewels are the perfect, luminescent accent to frame the stamped doily. (*They come 150 per sheet for $4.95 in the Idea Book & Catalog - WOW!)
With my Early Espresso** this sweet tea pot friendship greeting in the From My Heart (Idea Book & Catalog)sentiment/greeting stamp set on a Tea Lace Doily (Spring Mini) is a great combo!!
**The KEY for Stamping on our sweet little paper doilies is to let it cure/dry. It takes a long time! I don't know why... it's just not a porous surface to stamp on. We did dry it with the heat gun, but the best cure is just time.. I stamped it and let it set out while building the other card, grabbing a bite to eat, then I came back to color the images in.
When these sweet images cure - they are ideal to color in using our Stampin' Write Markers (Idea Book & Catalog). Here So Saffron and Pretty In Pink* color and tie in the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper (Spring Mini).
(*Did you know, the Pretty In Pink color is retiring?!?! Soooo sad but true! Grab YOUR Pretty In Pink inks, papers, ribbons, and more... before they leave!)
The subtle stamping of tone-on-tone So Saffron inked Hello Doily on this paper adds dimension while continuing the feel of lacy, doilies and tea parties.
Sweet, vintage and feminine... this card is a great way to warm some one's day, extend friendship, reconnect with someone or just celebrate a friend!
How would YOU use this sweet card?
I may not be uber girly but I do love doilies, tea kettles and the ladies in my life!
Lift your tea cup with me, toast those special people in your life and send someone a card.. you maybe the one who blesses them! Opening a card is a highlight when I usually receive bills and solicitations. I love putting it up for display and continual cheer!
