Happy Watermelon Day to YOU!

Celebrate this sweet treat that refreshes the palate and screams SUMMER!!
HAPPY WATERMELON DAY!!
Using my Garden Green card stock (#102584) to create this fun textured and shaped card!
Our Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine and the Ovals Collection Framelits (#129381) lend to this fun scalloped oval card.  (Just make sure that your don't cut off the seam that holds the card together, lol.)

Using the Woodgrain embossing folder (#127821) to add that cool look of the pattern on the watermelon.  (Who knew that watermelons cold be so much fun to create?!?!)  Embossing it once it is cut and shaped allows for the texture to be all the way through.. and that is such a fun but subtle addition.
Using my Black Sharpie (or any permanent marker) to color in our adhesive backed Rhinestones Basic Jewels (#119246) for the 'traditional' seeds.

Layered over the Very Vanilla card stock (#101650) the Real Red cardstock (#102482) resembles the inside of the delicious fruit!
(I'd write my greetings then add the 'seeds' where there are openings!
Tie this sweet card up with our vintage, distressed, natural feeling Linen Thread (#104199).  I could soooo see giving this as a gift and the natural feeling thread ties into a farm-fresh feel.

Holding down this tied up thread with the sentiment when you use the Stampin' Dimensional adhesive (#104430).  I placed the thread in-between the sentiment and tag and card... this is a discrete way to hold on an accent like this thread.

Winning this Real Red Goodie Gear Simply Created Kit (#132161) and Oh, Goodie! stamp set (#131889) from the Holiday Catalog (at the Stampin' Up! 25th Anniversary Convention) made me pause.... what to do with this cute kit?!?!!

At my recent class we mulled the sentiments and purpose/use... so pulling this sweet tag out and showing the girls the fun behind these words - and the versatility of use for all year long... I love that it came together with this look!

The Bitty Banners framelits (#129267), Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (#113439) and the new Big Shot Magnetic Platform (#130658) pop out these cute sentiments!

OK so the cute mini wood clip isn't a Stampin' Up! item but I love it and have kept this sweet ladybug clip about.  I think it's just a perfect addition to this project!!
Real Red is a fun note-card to write on and really does look like a sweet melon!  Adding the colored rhinestones for a great look and accessory.

Find reasons to celebrate!
Making my family's life festive is fun and a great way to (hopefully) make memories that they can look back on and smile, remembering a good childhood.
Little things, like National Watermelon Day, are easy ways to inspire cards, crafts, gifts, memories...

I hope that your day is sweet!
Thank you for coming by, remember that I try to post and celebrate life - daily - and look forward to seeing you again, soon.

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
