Zoot Suits were all the rage back in the roaring 20's - 40's... so when a sweet neighbor ("Grandpa Bob") turned 90... the party invite had a cool shot of him looking dapper in his sharp striped suit next to a cool ride. So creating a classic, striped and shining hand-stamped card to celebrate his big 9-0 was fun and easy to do. Celebrating those who've lived through so much is fun and easy to do!

Creating a simple but sharp card is ideal for most men... less words, more action (right??). Well this Basic Black card stock base and Silver Foil Sheets look sharp embossed in the Stripes Embossing Folder and Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine. Applying the SNAIL adhesive before embossing creates a tight seal!
Heat Embossing is another great accent to this sharp card. Here prep the Basic Black card stock with the Embossing Buddy. Stamp this Another Great Year Happy Birthday stamp with Versa Mark ink. Cover, liberally, with Silver Embossing Powder. The Embossing Buddy will have prepped your surface while the Versa Mark will hold the powder to the areas stamped!
Shake off the excess (if only it were as easy to do so for my waist line, sigh) and Heat Set with the Heat Tool (with two temps and a quieter gun, it's a must for any crafter). The sharp silver sentiment pops on the Basic Black card stock, doesn't it? Adding SNAIL Adhesive to the raised, embossed stripes helps to hold the heat-embossed black card stock.
Adding a Whisper White card stock piece to the inside is much like a crisp undershirt on a sharp zoot suit... and it makes it easy to write in a dark card like this.

Celebrate NOW the by-gone eras and those who reach amazing milestones! Celebrating this sweet and funny "Grandpa Bob" who is a fun neighbor makes me miss my beloved Pappa (he passed away two weeks before his 94th birthday). I know in this busy day and age we can miss out on celebrating those who've experienced so much... take a moment to honor those in your life (and neighborhood). Here is my nod and toast to "Grandpa Bob" and his 90th birthday, as well as toasting the era of men who dressed to impress!
