Nautical wishes hand-stamped card

Life is much like the ocean... some days there are smooth sailing and clarity, others there is a storm on the horizon, the sea can toss you about in a flash, be as breathtaking as seeing a cresting whale, deeper than we imagine.. to survive it you have to have a strong vessel and faith.  So as my dear friends are celebrating their upcoming 50th Anniversary - this card came to mind!!  Join me on this crafting voyage in celebrating their 50 years of trials, joys and love with this nautical card.

Creating this pretty glass looking card with our Window Sheets and Stazon ink.  Layer the portion of the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper over the Early Espresso card stock.  Lay the Window Sheet over the card and see WHERE you want the ship to be.  Stamp the ship from the Open Sea stamp set on the Window Sheet using the Stazon Ink.
Apply this glass like image with the Glue Dots to each corner.  This with the compass from the Open Nature stamp set that was stamped directly on the Soho Subway map page with the Early Espresso ink.  It's a cool multi layered look with the feel of glass and vintage accents/map.
Our Linen Thread is a rough and vintage accent to this nautical card.  Tied under the Window Sheet it is a cool accent that is easy to tie on.

How many marriages make it this far, to 50 years of sticking together, supporting, loving and surviving what life throws at you??  One in a million?  It feels like it, especially these days.  This One in a Million stamp set is soon to retire and with it's beautiful collection of two part sentiments (they can be used solo like this or together) you can send your best wishes.

Stamping this sentiment from the One in a Million set with Early Espresso ink on the Very Vanilla card stock.  Punch it out with the Decorative Label Punch and crumple (perfect on a day where you can take your frustrations out on the paper - lol).

Rub the crumpled image with the Gold Encore Pad for a pretty accent that is rich and ties into the vintage vibe of this card.  (Gold for their 50th Anniversary.)  Make the sentiment stay where you want it - after I tied it onto the Linen Thread I applied a Stampin' Dimensional Adhesive to the back and it now stays right where I want it on this card.

Accent the inside of the card with this Very Vanilla card stock insert.  Stamp this Anchor twice in the Gold Encore pad to show that their love anchored a blessed legacy.

Celebrate those who take on the troubles and struggles that marriage and life bring, those who come out the other side stronger, more in love and blessed - leaving behind a legacy of love and faith.  This pretty, vintage card has such cool accents with the glass look and distressed sentiment.  I will miss this stamp set and paper... grab yours before they are gone!!  I was blessed to have grandparents that made it to their 70th Wedding Anniversary (well, Nanna passed two weeks before the actual date but still....).  May you enjoy this card and celebrate such victories with people who stuck together through the thick and thin, the rough and the good.

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
