It's here - SUMMER! Today, 7~7~14 is a fun day to 'celebrate'. We just survived (and enjoyed) our 4th of July weekend and today was our first 'real' day of summer. For us it means a low-key schedule, we take a power walk (for me, pushing a stroller) and the kids on their bikes.. then we run errands and visit friends and customers, hit the library for the reading club and enjoy a cold drink and a fresh slab of watermelon. With a busy school year behind us, I took a moment today to document what the excited thoughts of summer are for each of them! I LOVE my Grovebooks - where I've printed pictures off of my phone and they come in these easy to use books. Using our Stampin' Trimmer to SCORE (not cut) my pictures. Odd? Well, I do cut my pictures down to scale sometimes but I love the time and date stamp on the edge of the Groovebook books so by scoring I can tuck in our summer memory date and location to reference if I want.
Sigh... I love the ease of these Project Life Pocket Pages and coordinating cards!! The fact that they coordinate with our 2014-16 In-Colors I can add journaling in the Blackberry Bliss, Stamp the Rotary Stamps in coordinating colors. This makes for easy transport (crafting with my girlfriends while our kiddos play) while looking stylish!!
Clean Up is a BREEZE! The Project Life Cards and Accessories all fit into these streamlined boxes!! So I can tuck them away when I am not using them... in our small home, I need to be able to tuck them away. They travel well, too.
The Rotary Stamps each give me 12 sentiments and dates until 2023 to use in two simple compact rotary stamps!! The In-Color Stampin' Write Markers are in their own streamlined box, sigh... ideal to toss this into my messanger bag and play at a friend's home while our kids play. I can multitask and catch up with my girl, let the kids play and document our life (Super Hero Mom - lol).
The Happiness Is collection has stunning stickers and fun cards, accessories that are easy to use!! Adding this card to this piece of cut Hello Honey card stock is a pretty way to tie the page together (and easily!!). Stamping this 'Don't Forget' and 'Glasses' is ideal from the Make Note Rotary Stamp that I colored with the Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Write Marker. (I have a not-so-secret addiction to Sunglasses - so Summer/California - lol.)

Journaling what I don't want to forget - the memories that as the kids grow older will diminish (as new ones fill my brain and heart). Simple things like the Dodgers baseball games to time in Big Bear, Oceanside, Ventura, Solvang... even our weekly trips to the library for Reading Club.. simple but sweet memories that leave behind a legacy of love.
Adding fun accents to my page with the Happiness Is accessory pack and these cute wood hexagons.. the Fast Fuse Adhesive is super strong and holds the cards to my card stock and this wood hexagon wood piece to the pretty patterned card!
Out of the mouth of babes... I took a moment to ask my kids what they LOVE about Summer... so today with this cute card from the Happiness Is card collection and the Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Write Marker I listened to my kids and wrote, in their own words, what they love about summer. I love that this page has their precious faces and even their words...
Two shots... a collage of our time with my babies at the Beach... and Hoola Hoops laying at our door on a hot summer day.. soon, like my older girls, these kids will be busy working, school and their friends.. times like this will soon be few and far between. It's just simple moments that are sometimes the most missed.
Printing my pictures off my Iphone (my ever present camera these days) is easier than ever! Life is busy and flying by faster every year. I always thought I'd have MORE time as the kids get older but I find that they fill my every spare moment. That will happen, until it doesn't (as most people know). Marking simple moments in our life that will be missed is a wonderful way to celebrate our crazy, blessed life!
