Dodgers Inspired Birthday

Celebrate a fun birthday with a toast to the awesome baseball season our Los Angeles Dodgers had this year!  When little Jag turned 2, I just couldn't resist grabbing this mini Dodgers outfit and creating a card that matches!

What do you think?!?  Leave me a comment and let me know.  Share this (and me) with your family and friends... Pin, Email, Facebook, Tweet, Google+ this and Follow Me on this avenues (YouTube, Instagram and LinkedIn, too!).
Jag is the first born to a sports loving dad.  When his dad went pro in basketball, I couldn't resist a nod to Jag's 1st birthday with a Basketball card

This year, we have all been vying tickets to and celebrating the Dodger's winning game streak this year!  This ensemble inspired a fun card that plays on the LA Dodgers logo to Celebrate Jag!
Dodger Blue was attained using our Pacific Point card stock (#111350).
Create a fun baseball with the help of our Big Shot Die Cutting Machine* and our Circles Collection Framelits* (#130911).  The Big Shot Magnetic Platform* holds the framelits right where you want it for precision placement and cutting!

Using the Big Shot and creating 3D stitching (much like a baseball has) using our Needlepoint Border embossing folder (#129383) to create this fun textured accent.  Highlighting the raised stitches with our Real Red Stampin' Write Marker (#100052) - easy peasy!
My little helper, lol.

Using the Whisper White card stock here, as well, (#100730) and the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine* I created these fun letters.  Our Typeset Alphabet Bigz* (#127553) die cuts these letters - allowing for easy personalization of any project!
Fun look, Texture, the Baseball raised for dimension - using our Stampin' Dimensional Adhesive (#104430).  The raised texture and fun letter play on the logo... any sports fan would love to receive this card!
OK Cheer with me... we scored Box Seats this past Saturday.. what fun!!  With their famous Dodger Dogs, Garlic fries, my hubby, son and his pal.. we cheered on the home team with zeal!
The stadium was sold out, the roar of the crowd was contagious... it was a hoot, even if they lost - lol...
I'm so glad you joined the game today - ok, so maybe just me and my blog, lol.  I try to post daily and hope to see you back often - bring your friends along to play!  Come Play (in person or virtually) in my classes!!

* Join the Fun!

Cheer Jag on with us!  Every Sports loving fan will enjoy a card that gives props to their favorite team and sport!!  Giving a Personalized card and gift is a great way to show you care.  What team and sport would you celebrate?!?!

Soccer Birthday

I'm married to an Italian and when we go to my in-laws there is almost always a game of Soccer (or football as they call it) on.

When my son's soccer loving friend had a birthday today - my boy helped his momma create the card and gift bag with a fun theme...
Shaped and Textured cards are easy to create and so FUN!  Soccer lovers will all want a card like this - from the adult to the kid!  I know that Austin was excited by his card - his dad was blown away - lol - GOAL!
Coordinating the gift bag with the card is extra easy - I mis-cut the first card and resulted in two soccer balls - lol... so I used one on the bag!
Starting with a Whisper White card stock (#100730) emboss the Honeycomb Embossing Folder (#129378) and Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (#113439).  Punch the coordinating Hexagon punch (#130919) to create these Basic Black (#121045) card stock pieces.
Once this is done, create the shaped card with the Circles Collection framelits (#130911) and the new Big Shot Magnetic Platform (#130658) and our Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (#113439).  The new Magnetic Platform makes creating so easy - it holds down the framelits RIGHT where you want it -
ohhh - I just love this tool!!
BAM - A Soccer Ball Card!  My son loved writing inside and giving it to his friend.
Taking the 'Defense' and suffering no 'Penalty' (soccer lingo my friend Myrna gave me - lol - Thanks Myrna!) for this mistake - a great bag comes together!  Score - I look amazing, like I did it on purpose!  It was a 'Sweeper'! lol...
(my son plays flag football and baseball while my girls play softball... we don't play soccer.. lol).
Forward! (at this point I'm just tossing lingo to be cute - lol)  This combo is ultra cute and perfect for the birthday boy!!

I love that creating personalized gifts makes it a gift in a gift - extra special.

Dapper Golfing Dad

I love how interactive Facebook is!
Last week (or so) I posted a question on
what Sport you'd like to see in a card...
Tanya Sasaki commented 'Golf'...
So, thanks Tanya -
HERE is my card from YOUR Suggestion!!
(What do you think?
Leave me a comment and let me know!!)
I don't golf and neither does my husband (yet - he keeps threatening to learn - lol).  When I think of Golfing I think funny argyle pants, shoes, polo and bow tie...
a rich man's game....
rich men and women who may dress a little funny (lol).
I also think about all that beautiful Green Grass they play on.
So with our In-color Gumball Green card stock as the card base, the Prints Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack (Spring Mini) and this pretty patterned paper!

Embossing this Dapper Dad stamp set with my Versa Mark stamp pad, Black embossing powder and heat gun (Idea Book & Catalog), it is sharp, retro and cool -
shiny like patent leather!
'Dad' in Argyle from the 'Loved Ones' retired stamp set fit soooo perfectly - I couldn't resist stamping it in Gumball Green ink on the top of this Dapper Dad trio.

Wrapping it up with our Stitched Satin Gumball Green ribbon is sharp and a little metro - kind of like this card!
Using our Glossy White card stock, punching three 1-3/8" circles and running it through the Big Shot and our Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder so that the dots are De-Bossed (fancy lingo for going in vs. embossing out - lol).  It's shiny with these little divots - just like a little golf ball!

The Trio of three balls to the side of the three manly images is cohesive to the eye and odd numbers are appealing to the subconscious - cool, huh?!?!
The subtle raised 'golf balls' are popped up with our Stampin' Dimensional adhesive - so easy and fun!
My cousins play golf often... maybe my husband will join them, lol.  I love that the manly look can be achieved without tools or fish.. a fun way to change up a masculine card!

What man would YOU give this card too?
Leave me a comment and let me know.
Thanks for coming by and taking a look!
Please feel free to SHARE this with your family, friends, facebook, twitter and/or pinterest!  I'm on ALL of those places - find a moment and Follow ME!!
 I'll see YOU there!!

Ball Park Dreams

I spend mannnny of my days, evenings and weekends going from one baseball field to another softball field... with my group of kids and having two in sports right now.. it's nooo big surprise.  Crafting can be inspired by many areas in my life, so of course I had to create a base/softball themed card!
Can YOU feel the crack of the ball, the cheering of the parents and kids?!?!  I know our local Major League ball leagues just started their kick off to the season but myyyy kids have been playing for the past couple of months!

As soooon as I saw this Needlepoint Textured Impressions Embossing folders (Spring Mini) I envisioned a base/softball!!  The Stitching on the ball in red... Bam!  Our Stampin' Write Markers easily colored the stitches!
To create the Ball Field... start with a 4" x 4" square of our Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper (Idea Book & Catalog) in Old Olive.  I needed a 'rounded' corner so I nabbed our Ovals Collection Framelits Dies and Big Shot.  Thread one corner in from the top and it will cut through the paper in no time!
Bam!!  (I'm soooo like this in the stands - lol.)
(That's meeee jumping up and down, behind home plate, screaming with the other moms on our teams - lol -
a home-run Baby!! lol)
Circle it UP!  Punches of our 3/4", 1", 1-3/8", 1-3/4" and 2-1/2" circle punches create this 'Out of the Park' feel!  Snailing the smaller circles in this curved flying motion and then using Stampin' Dimensional Adhesive to make the 'ball' on top stand out is a great trick to the eye.
My son insists it had to have the 'plates' so using our Little Labels Punch Pack and Crumb Cake card stock these four little postage stamps become the plates on this field of dreams!
Word Play greeting stamp set seems perfect for this card!
'Go Confidently in the Direction of our Dreams' is a perfect fit to our amazing kids - especially when on the field!
During the Sports season, you can imagine their dreams and desires - my kids will often have a ball, bat or glove in their bed!  At 9 and 7... my life has a loooong life of sports to come (with more kids to follow) but when I see great coaches, team fellowship and relationships...
I know the sacrifice is worth it.
HERE my Little Angels are Rock Stars and play on Great Teams!!  I love seeing the 'eye of the tiger' come over them when they get baseball/softball ready, practice swings, a 'grrr' look and gleam to their eyes... I mayyyy be the loudest mom on the field (lol, not a big surprise - I've had people on other fields KNOW it's me when they hear me and come over to give me some love and cheer on my babies - lol).  I know that I stand in line, full of love and pride, in our babies - the parents on our teams love it (almost) as much as their children do!
Can you feel the excitement, the desire and the love of the game?  The ball cracking as the bat comes into contact?!?!  I can feel their hearts beat when I'm watching them... while it feels like I've forgotten to breathe..

Remember to celebrate every moment, hope and desire in life - it's a rough life out there -
bring joy where ever you can!

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
