I spend mannnny of my days, evenings and weekends going from one baseball field to another softball field... with my group of kids and having two in sports right now.. it's nooo big surprise. Crafting can be inspired by many areas in my life, so of course I had to create a base/softball themed card!
Can YOU feel the crack of the ball, the cheering of the parents and kids?!?! I know our local Major League ball leagues just started their kick off to the season but myyyy kids have been playing for the past couple of months!
As soooon as I saw this Needlepoint Textured Impressions Embossing folders (Spring Mini) I envisioned a base/softball!! The Stitching on the ball in red... Bam! Our Stampin' Write Markers easily colored the stitches!
To create the Ball Field... start with a 4" x 4" square of our Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper (Idea Book & Catalog) in Old Olive. I needed a 'rounded' corner so I nabbed our Ovals Collection Framelits Dies and Big Shot. Thread one corner in from the top and it will cut through the paper in no time!
Bam!! (I'm soooo like this in the stands - lol.)
(That's meeee jumping up and down, behind home plate, screaming with the other moms on our teams - lol -
a home-run Baby!! lol)

Circle it UP! Punches of our 3/4", 1", 1-3/8", 1-3/4" and 2-1/2" circle punches create this 'Out of the Park' feel! Snailing the smaller circles in this curved flying motion and then using Stampin' Dimensional Adhesive to make the 'ball' on top stand out is a great trick to the eye.
My son insists it had to have the 'plates' so using our Little Labels Punch Pack and Crumb Cake card stock these four little postage stamps become the plates on this field of dreams!
Word Play greeting stamp set seems perfect for this card!
'Go Confidently in the Direction of our Dreams' is a perfect fit to our amazing kids - especially when on the field!
During the Sports season, you can imagine their dreams and desires - my kids will often have a ball, bat or glove in their bed! At 9 and 7... my life has a loooong life of sports to come (with more kids to follow) but when I see great coaches, team fellowship and relationships...
I know the sacrifice is worth it.
I know the sacrifice is worth it.
HERE my Little Angels are Rock Stars and play on Great Teams!! I love seeing the 'eye of the tiger' come over them when they get baseball/softball ready, practice swings, a 'grrr' look and gleam to their eyes... I mayyyy be the loudest mom on the field (lol, not a big surprise - I've had people on other fields KNOW it's me when they hear me and come over to give me some love and cheer on my babies - lol). I know that I stand in line, full of love and pride, in our babies - the parents on our teams love it (almost) as much as their children do!
Can you feel the excitement, the desire and the love of the game? The ball cracking as the bat comes into contact?!?! I can feel their hearts beat when I'm watching them... while it feels like I've forgotten to breathe..
Remember to celebrate every moment, hope and desire in life - it's a rough life out there -
bring joy where ever you can!
