What is Black & White and Full of Color?!?!

THIS CARD!!
Inspired by a new Favorite Dress...
I created this Black Embossed Vanilla Card stock that
Uses a Baby Wipe Technique to create the
Bold, Bright and Vibrant Flowers from the
Secret Garden bundle of Stamp Set and
Framelits Dies in the Spring Mini!

Using Shimmer Card Stock for the flowers, the
Tangerine Tango, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry reinkers to create this swirled look.
The Shimmer Paper is AMAZING, a subtle but huge WOW when you catch the elegant sparkle.

The Rich Razzleberry is very dark so I started off w/ a little of the Melon Mambo first and then added layers of the Razzleberry for this multi dimensional flower!
HERE is my new lil favorite dress!
Clearance Rack special even!! (lol)
I LOVE Animal Print and the Vibrant flowers -
I knew when I laid my eyes on it that even if I never wore it,
I'd soooooooooo make a card like it!

The Shimmer Paper is soooo Shiny!!
(not in a flashy way but a subtle and elegant way)
Stampin' Dimensional Adhesive lifts the flowers off the card and allows for them to overlap one another.

Sporting my Boots again
(after 2-1/2 months recovery to my foot w/ 6 broken bones!)
I Whipped Out my Patent Leather black beauties with this dress and KNEW I'd have to Heat Emboss this card in more than one way!!

The LNS Challenge threw down the 'Let's Heat Things Up!' and I think that I did with this FUN but Sexy Card!

When presented with a Challenge,
I often Run Head FIRST at it...
what do you think of my efforts??

The 'Loving Thoughts' stamp set works great on the
Melon Mambo Card stock and
Heat Embossed with this Sharp Black look!

The Heat Embossed Patent Leather Shine of the Black embossing powder on the Very Vanilla Card Stock card and the En Francais background stamp is a cool twist on the card.

OK Love or Hate it - this dress makes a GREAT Card!
I had a blast with the fun look if it and the techniques!

YOUR Turn to Heat It UP!
Grab Your Embossing Buddy, Gun and Powder and
Be BOLD!
Have a Blast with the Shimmer Card stock the subtle
warm shimmer is well worth it!

Roses are Red, Violets are Blue... Valentines

My oldest daughter suggested a
Roses are Red, Violets are Blue Valentines card...
THIS is what I created from her suggestion!

Grabbing my
~  Honeycomb Embossing Folder (Spring Mini)
~  Perfect Plum Card Stock and MATCHING Taffeta Ribbon
(I LOVE the matching/coordinating part of it!)
~  Color Coach (one of my favorite tools!)
~  Rose Red Stampin' Write Marker,
Marina Mist Stamp Pad
~  Delightful Dozen and Elements of Style stamp sets
and I went to TOWN!  (Valentines Town, baby!)

Stamping the Rose branch on the
Very Vanilla Card Stock with Marina Mist... the Rose Red Stampin' Write Marker highlights ONLY the Rose Blossoms.
Highlight the Heart in the
Be My Valentine from the
Delightful Dozen stamp set
with the same marker to keep a cohesive look.
The Color Coach suggests the Perfect Plum, Rose Red and Marina Mist as a combination...
I was unsure how to create a Roses are Red, Violets are Blue card - but this was a unique way to capture the feel of this sentiment/limerick.
The Honeycomb Embossing Folder and
Big Shot lend to a Trellis feel.
The card can lay both ways...
a fun way to get two different feels.

Roses are Red,
Violets are Blue,
Sugar is Sweet and
So Are YOU!
(Be My Valentine, Won't You?)

Thanks, Gloria, I love the suggestion for a out of the norm Valentines card!  (love you, baby!)

What would YOU create with a Roses Are Red, Violets are Blue theme?
Create something FUN and let me know, I'd love to highlight it on my blog!

Lunch Bag Bling!

EVERY Child Loves to STAND OUT above the crowd -
my kids do it in many ways..
Today this is one way that I show them some love on field trip days
(especially since I can't attend w/ the baby).
It is a little bit of ME with them on these fun trips!

Take any paper lunch bag and with the embossing folder of your choice (or your child's) run the folded bag through your Big Shot!!  Here with the folder from the Holiday Mini I created a scrolled frame.
Using the Champagne Glimmer Paper from the Holiday Mini
and the retired 'G' die from our Idea Book
the Mini Glue Dots hold it on and make it strong!
It fits PERFECTLY in the center of the
embossed frame, too!

My Little Genevieve loved her bag so much that she brought it home after the field trip!
(Now - THAT'S Love - lol.)

I used our Dazzle Pen in Gold and added the
Basic Jewel adhesive backed
Rhinestone for her dot above the 'i'.

Our lil Sparkly girl had a blast at the Stone Soup performance at the Civic Arts Center and LOVED showing her lunch bag off to friends!

Thanks to my Big Shot and Stampin' Up! my lil love felt myyyyyyy love today!
How do YOU add Sparkle and Send LOVE to those in YOUR Life??

Play with your Big Shot and have FUN
~ Let me know what you create....
Leave me a comment,
I'd love to feature it on my website/blog!

Dresser dreams....

This year has been about stream lining, gleaning the old and getting organized.  So as we start the process of switching rooms for my kids and putting the youngest of my three girls into one room, look into two bunk beds as well as another dresser....

I stumbled upon a Dresser for FREE from our Neighbors!!  How cool is that?!?!  Funnily, as the husband helped me load it into my Excursion, he received the dresser from another neighbor - when his kids were my kids ages!!  So this antique looking dresser is going to the perfect home and at the perfect time... a dream come true!  (That saved $$ can go into more stampin' goodies - lol!)

This day and age, the Thank You card is few and far between.  I know I've suffered the life rushing me by and emailed a Thank You... but I couldn't resist creating a fun card to THANK my neighbors as I sent a little Thank You, above, for answered prayers!

Using the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack from the Spring Mini I created this fun 'wall paper' on the Crumb Cake Card Stock/base.  Cutting a 3" x 2" Chocolate Chip card stock for the Dresser Base.

Cutting 2-3/4" x 3/4" Chocolate Chip strips as the drawers.  The little 'knobs' and ball feet are from the Larger Whole Punch on the Crop-A-Dile.  Sponging the edges of the dresser and drawers in Chocolate Chip is a subtle way to add dimension and definition from item to item.  Stampin' Dimensional adhesive squares raise the drawers up as well as the dresser from the 'Wall Papered' background.
(When we moved in, the house was choking on floral wall paper and PINK - I'm far from floral or pink - lol... so I was 7 months pregnant when my husband came home to 1/2 stripped walls and bathroom... it's tougher than it looks - let me tell you! lol)

Have FUN when Crafting!
Be Creative when Thanking someone - or blessing them!!
I KNEW the moment Guy, my neighbor, kindly lifted the dresser into my loaded SUV - I had to send this family a big Thanks for blessing us!

This card is ideal for anyone who's moved recently
(my friend Carol made it for her friend who'd just moved),
a new baby (adding baby accessories to the drawers or top of dresser) and more!  What would YOU use this card for?!?!
(Leave me a comment and let me know!)

Create a fun framed sentiment with this Vintage Verses Stamp Set - FREE (!!!!) - from the Sale~A~Bration mini catalog!

The sentiment is too long for most of my punches - so grabbing the Decorative Label punch I showed Carol (she'd come over to visit when I'd gotten home w/ our new-to-us dresser!).

See HERE on how to add some fun to a sentiment that may be too long for a punch but you desire a decorative edge!:

(Excuse my lack of manicure - lol)
OK so I love that the Crumb Cake card stock and Chocolate Chip ink work so well together!  Stamping the sentiment on the strip of card stock I added dimension with the Sponging of the edges in Chocolate Chip Ink and tried to tie in the Midnight Muse flowers by highlighting parts of the stamp with the pen/slim side of the Stampin' Write Marker!

Simply take the strip, after stamped, and thread it into once side of the punch.  If the Sentiment is larger, like Carol's was, I used the wider edge of the punch.  Then Punch - repeat on the other - the side that is OUT of the punch will not be touched - so it really only adds a detail to the edges you feed in! (Easy Peasy!)

Doing both sides allows for a mirror image and looks great -
though one side could be fun, too!

Sponging the edges is quick and easy.
There is no 'wrong' way but I like to hold the stamped and punched image and 'flick' the edges with an inked sponge.
The MORE you apply, the more aged it looks...
the less, the more it resembles a subtle border.

What Dresser Dreams do YOU have?!?!
How do You Thank Someone??  (Do you?!?!)

What are YOU stream lining this year, in your life/home/family?!?!

Lovely Nature!

I'm a natural girl.. I don't wear much make-up,
I love to hike and take power walks w/ my kids and dog...
So Nature speaks to me!

When creating a card that captures sweet Nature I couldn't resist utilizing
~ Nature's Pace (a favorite stamp set of mine), then adding
~ Netting (a divine background stamp),
~ the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper (from the Spring Mini)...
let's get started!

With Pretty In Pink card stock as the card base I stamped the Netting background stamp on with Pretty In Pink ink.  It allows for a subtle texture and look, a delicate lacy look to this base of a card.
Stamping the stunning Bee centered vine with Pretty In Pink on Very Vanilla card stock.  It's a little plain... so utilizing the Lucky Limeade Stampin' Write Marker (pen / thinner side) and highlighting the leaves and branches.

Highlighting the Bee and Flowers with the So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker (pen / thinner side) and tie in the DSP as well!

Using the Labels Collections Framelits and Big Shot the Very Vanilla stamped card stock is easily framed by the Early Espresso card stock in a perfect layer!  Stampin' Dimensional Adhesive adds to the layering process.  The two adhesive backed Basic Jewels Pearls continue the sweetness.

The Scallop Edge Border Punch punched two strips of the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper (DSP) and flipping one over, the two sided paper now has a different look of a material on the card.
With a little gentle love, using a finger nail curl the edges of the punched Designer Series Paper adds interest and whimsy.  The Ruffled feel is tied in with the 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon in Lucky Limeade.

Grab YOUR Spring Mini and our Idea Book
(I would love to get them to you, just let me know!)
and see what YOU can combine to create a Sweet and Natural card!

Let ME know what you discover!!
I would be glad to Highlight YOU
in one of my posts!

Refined Wishes

Do you have friends in your life who are refined?
Drink only the finest drinks
(no fruit on the side of those cups, baby, and NO plastic cups - lol)
Wear the most elegant of clothes and have a fabulous shoe collection?
Who's nails are always done...
Who's hair is always shiny (like a shampoo commercial?!?!)...

Me Toooooo!!!! lol...

Having such amazing friends in my life inspires me to look even better...

To switch out my yoga pants and flip flops for
Dark Washed Denim and stylish boots or flats...
To pull that pony tail out and BRUSH my hair... lol (or wash my hair?!?!)

OK so I couldn't resist when a dear friend who screams elegance and grace from the inside out had a birthday
I whipped out My Digital Studio and created a card for her!!

Isn't My Digital Studio just sooooo amazing?!?!
With the thought 'damask' running thru my head
I started with this square card.
Selecting a Designer Series Paper was next.
I'd wanted to go Black, Grey and White but...
after seeing this paper.. I couldn't change my base!
Adding this stamped image in our retired Close to Cocoa colored ink I had the feel of a lovely damask print.

Satin - I was tempted by the crochet ribbon but decided that for a classy dame like my girlfriend, she deserved something refined - like satin!
Chocolate Chip colored satin ribbon can easily be moved and re sized with our MDS2!!

Rosette's (aka Lollies!!) are NOW available on our MDS.. (yeah!!)
and I selected the Crumb Cake Rosette/Lolly for a fun embellishment!
Topping it off with an Antique Brad that had the feel of the stamps and patterned paper.
(Don't you just LOVE how realistic it is?!?!
Nothing 'digital' looking or cartoony - just lovely!)

I LOVE posting MDS cards to people's facebook pages on their bdays!  It's great as most people don't get more than wishes - adding a card makes me stand out from the crowd (it's all about me, in the end, isn't it - lol)

Raining down with love!

Want to Feel Like a Million Dollars?
This Million-Dollar Moments Hostess Stamp set from the Spring Mini is just fabulous!
I love the silhouette and style of it all!
Change it up with the sentiments, what rains down.... the BOOTS and Style...

The Color Coach pairs up the Daffodil Delight and Cherry Cobbler...
the texture shows the clouds and then adds fun and style to the material like patterns that mimic her stylish outfit!
The Raining Hearts are highlighted by these textured hearts that are raining down some style and cheer!!

Stampin' Write Markers MAKE this Card!
Simply using the Paint Brush side, paint the stamp!  Huff a breath to add moisture to the painted stamp... it's water based ink so the moisture in your breath will re-fresh the painted ink!
*Too, adding the different colors to the silhouette is a fun way to change it up!

I wish I could Sport this Cute outfit and AMAZING Cherry Cobbler boots without frizzy hair... my days in the rain is usually bundling the kids up, someone splashing puddles - ruining an outfit (mine)... someone will trip and cry about wet hands and knees, another decides to visit their swimming lessons in a puddle...
OHhhhh WHAT I'd give to look amazing in the rain! (lol)

With the Big Shot, the Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder  add dimension, texture and pattern(s) to this card!

As it's raining here in Southern California -
I am enjoying this rare bit of weather!
This card was created for a dear friend that I wanted to share some love with...
I hope that You are enjoying dancing in the rain (or running through it)!

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
