National Cocoa Day!

One of my favorite drinks (besides Coffee) is Cocoa - especially Dark Chocolate!  Yumm... let me have a moment here... sigh....  (lol)

Today is National Cocoa Day!
The champion of wintertime beverages because no one wants to come home after a day of sledding and relax by the fire with a mug of grapefruit juice.

Here is my nod to a favorite holiday... a scented cup of cocoa (well, this is Sugar and Spice scented... but still...)  This is an easy and newer technique for our embossing of cards...

Snag a solid color for the cup (I chose Real Red), an Aqua Pen and a Stampin' Write Marker (here I chose Early Espresso).

Stamp the cup in the Real Red.....

With the Aqua Pen - make sure it's damp but not heavily wet... if it feels like the tip is 'loaded' with water, wipe off the end until barely damp...   then wipe off the red where the cocoa should be...

Color in the Cocoa with the Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker... then 'Huff' on it to make sure it is evenly moist across the stamp.

BAM!  You now have two colors on one cup!  It really looks like a cup of cocoa...

Clean off the stamp and then ink it in the Versa Mark Pad and stamp - if it's off by a little, don't worry - no one will notice..

Cover with the Sugar and Spice Embossing Powder from the Holiday Mini.

Heat Emboss with our new amazing and quiet heat gun.  BEWARE... this smells sooooo yummy that you don't want to do it on an empty stomach or while PMSing.. lol... it makes me want naughty treats every time!

This Scentsational Season stamp set from the Holiday Mini has a coordinating Framelits Dies kit.  I love that they punch out the image - easy peasy!
(Can you tell, I'm enjoying this project??)

With a Natural White Cardstock as the base and the Candelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper I stamped the Cute and Curly Sentiment of Season's Greetings and the 'steam' from the stamp set.  Running it thru the Big Shot and Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder it creates texture, mimics the steam and the Early Espresso Vintage Snowflakes from the DSP.

Stampin' Dimensionals raise the cup and adheres to the textured background.  It smells divine and with a dash of bling - our Basic Jewels adhesive backed Rhinestones from the Idea Book - it ties it all together!  Who wouldn't love receiving this cup of Cocoa on a cool December day??

I hope you explore and play with the new line of Scented Embossing Powders!  Want to learn more or play with them??  Let's talk and find time to play - it'll be a scent-sational time!!  (I'm sooo funny - lol!)

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
