Blessed Father

My Father-In-Law is from Calabria, Italy.  His rich Italian accent and silly humor come together with the rich soil he brings life from.
 
He's quite the gardener - we eat extremely well and usually very fresh in his little but well planned garden.  This card is for him.. and the blessings he's brought forth in life.
Our Harvest Blessing (#132016) stamp set is a wonderful fine line sketch style stamp set.. these are classic and some of my favorite to water color!  Stamping on the Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper (#130814) is designed for the new Smash Book - This and That.  I like it for card making and paper crafting, too!
Water coloring these fine line stamped images directly on the Designer Series Paper adds to the vintage feel of this card.  Our Aqua Painters (#103954) and ink pads make it easy to paint while staying color coordinated!
Adding Color and Shadow... it's a wonderful way to show some love.
My own Daddy may be looking down on us, from heaven.  My Father-In-Law is a wonderful Pa' and Nonno.  He loves to be funny, hang with the kids and show off his garden. 
This beautiful Father sentiment comes from our beautiful Amazing Family stamp set (#131907).  Watercolor it with two colors that coordinate - it is very masculine.  My Father-In-Law isn't big on reading a ton of words... so this rich word says it all and is less for him to read!
It came together so well! (If I do say so myself - lol.)
Adding an inner stamp continues the love.  It also helps us to not have to write too much - lol - less is more with my Father-In-Law and Husband unless it's good food.
Water coloring is a wonderful technique and is so rich, elegant and timeless!  It's great as it doesn't have to be 'perfect' either!
This year we will not be with my Father-In-Law... so we gave him his card and gift early.  We are blessed to have him for our kid's Nonno...
 
Happy Father's Day to all those men who stepped up as Daddies, Grandpas, Uncles, Friends... who held us up when times were rough.  Marriage is hard but I'm blessed to have a man who loves his family and children.. all of them... lol.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations.
