By the Seashore

When my kiddos were heading off to church, this past week, we wanted to send along a Thank You to their amazing leaders... people who poured love and the Word into their lives for the past year.
 
Here is the card I created to do so... leave me a comment and let me know what you think!
This stamp set, By the Seashore (#132582) is one of my favorites!  A Classic fine line drawing with a subtle newsprint of beautiful sea shells, sea star and crab... it's sure to bring the sandy shore to you (with out any of the cleaning up of sand, lol).
 
Our Crumb Cake card stock (#120953) as the base the Early Espresso (#126974) in lays these babies in the 'sand'.  Using my Crumb Cake ink (#126975) and Aqua Painter (#103954) allows me to water color and add dimension.  Tone on tone - this ink on card stock makes for the 'wet sand' look (on the top of the card) and 'wet shell' on the shells.
Every time I use this stamp set.... this saying comes into my head (and doesn't leave, lol).  Come on, you are saying it too.. aren't you?!?! lol.
Trust God (#132094) is such a beautiful stamp set and PERFECT for our Sunday School Teachers!!  Stamped in Island Indigo (#126986) for a continued feel of the ocean.  I love that our top-quality stamps make it EASY to make a great impression!!
Natural Linen Thread (#104199) tie this together and look so nautical doing so!!  Tie a bow and then (shhhhh - a secret tip, lol)  using a Glue Dot (#103683) you can position it EXACTLY where and how you like it!!  I love that it hassss to do what I want (unlike the harassment of my kids when I ask for something - lol).
Two stamps, a little Aqua Painting and you tie it all together for a quick, classic, easy and fun card!
 
I'm sure they felt blessed to receive a Thank You for the hard work they pour into our kids and their lives.. their volunteering frees me for a little while to enjoy worship and a sermon from our pastor.  As a Mom... sometimes that free to be 'me' hour + is just what I need... and knowing my kids are safe, being fed the Word and loved..
there is nothing better!

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations.
