Epic Blessings

I'm beyond blessed!!
When I think of Father's Day and the Men in my life, I miss my Dad and Pappa... but I'm blessed to have one of the greatest men in my life...
my Uncle Richard!

He's a Father 9x over with many, many, many grandchildren spread across our nation and across boarders and oceans.  I am always amazed when I check in with him, how he and my Aunt are traveling to visit all their children and grandchildren.  His home-base, Indiana, isssss (more or less) the middle of the country - lol.
When this Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper (#130814) came up for crafting.. the 'Rail Road' print caught my eye... my Family, sooo much of my family - including my Uncle, have worked or currently work the Rail Road!!  I couldn't resist creating a card for my Uncle this Father's Day... one sure to mark how he blesses us!
His 'home-base' is a lovely little town near the College where he was a professor.  His backyard is a lovely large area where my Aunt Joani and him grow produce!!  Too, they have a passel of kids and grandkids.. what a legacy of love and blessing!!  Our Harvest Blessing stamp set (#126452) is a vintage, fine line drawing... that fits perfectly with our paper!
Stamping the tractor in our Calypso Coral ink (#126983) pulls the color from the Epic paper.  I love the look of the basket stamped in Crumb Cake ink (#126975).  This subtle touch is awesome but I wanted MORE - so I thought I'd run it through the Big Shot (#113439) and our Honeycomb embossing folder (#129378) come together to emboss with an edgy and vintage look.
Our Naturals Ivory card stock (#101849) is the perfect base for this blessing sentiment and basket accent.  Stamping them with the Crumb Cake (#126975) ink is a warm neutral and accenting the fruit with the Calypso Coral ink (#126983) and our Aqua Painter (#103954).  This watercolor technique allows for the vintage feel.
Distressing the edges is easier than ever with our Stampin' Distressing Tool (#127562).  Rubbing the edges with our Crumb Cake ink and our Stampin' Sponges (#101610) for a soft aged look.

Button this blessing up with our Naturals Designer Buttons (#127884).  They have a great wood-like look and tie into this natural feeling card.  Tied together with our Early Espresso Baker's Twine (#123124).  Very Masculine, don't you think?!?!
Using the same Stampin' Sponge and Crumb Cake ink around the edges allows for a distressed and softened look.  It also ages while highlighting the embossing!
I'm LOVING this vintage paper!!  Fine line stamps, like this, are definitely one of my favorites!!
Epic Blessings!
A Legacy of Love, Faith, Joy and Family... my Pappa and Nanna, to my Uncle and Aunt... it's a legacy I pray we leave to our children!

From Rail Road men to Pastors, Professors, Elders, Military, Missionaries, Authors... I'm blessed to be part of this amazing family!

Happy Father's Day to the men in my life - even if you aren't my father!  Who would YOU send this card to?!?  What legacy were you given or do you leave??

What Others are SAYING about Getting Crafty with Jamie

Jamie is so passionate and creative about making cards - and wants everyone else to join her in the fun! She is so encouraging and positive in her attitude, helping me along when I get frustrated - and then rejoicing with me at the finished product! I love going to her classes to get new ideas, learn techniques, and have loads of fun in the process. ~ Christine C.

Jamie has wicked awesome classes! If you don’t like a particular stamp or paper/ink color Jamie wants you to change it to suit your style! I did my sister-in-law’s entire bridal shower from invitations/thank you cards, party favors to decorations, it was quaint and whimsical! Everyone ooh’d and ahh’d! I’ve had lots of special requests for classes and Jamie delivers; she always has tasty treats and flavored coffees too ~Ashley W.

I have been attending Jamie's classes for over a year. Her ideas for cards are fresh and fun. She always tries to have several different styles of cards available, so everyone gets to make cards that fit their personal style. The techniques she shows each class can be used in many different applications. She is very patient teacher when instructing class members on how to use the Stampin Up products. ~ Carol D.

If I looked up the word sparkle in the dictionary, I would find Jamie Albanese picture there. I have had the sweet blessing of knowing Jamie and her family for over 5 years now. Every time I am with her I feel loved and inspired. When I am in one of her classes I feel my creative juices flow, as she encourages me to go outside my comfort zone. Jamie helped our girl scout troop make cards for a soldier who needed some encouragement!!! For any of you who have not been in one of Jamie's classes, please don't let another day slip by. She is a beautiful friend and she will become yours too. ~ Blessings, Karen:-)

Jamie has a great eye for style and flair, and it shows in her work. Yet she can pick up on your own individual style and makes great recommendations. I love that she is always flexible for last-minute decision maker mommies like me! So much fun to host craft events with your friends and family - that personal touch always means so much. ~ Adonna
