I find crafting inspiration EVERYWHERE. When on a recent weekend in Big Bear Lake, I discovered a beautiful door stopper two things came in mind - (a) I can soooo make this into a hand-stamped card and (b) this will stop my toddler from slamming the door when I want it open (yes, in this order the thoughts came or are they justifications for the purchase - lol). So join me in seeing what inspires me and how to create this pretty hand-crafted card.

I love vintage looking items. This hand-stamped card takes our lovely Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper and this vintage newspress/book look and uses it for the foundation to this watercolored peacock. Simply stamp the bird on the Typeset Specialty (due to it's being thinner and aged looking this packet is an amazing combination of images) Designer Series Paper with the Jet Black Stazon ink pad. Using the Pool Party color the lightest part of the center to each feather, add the Garden Green around the Pool Party and then the Island Indigo around that - all with the Aqua Painter. Coloring the leaves with the Garden Green ink pad and the flowers with the Crushed Curry ink pad.
The Sassy Salutations flows with a bold line. Stamped with Island Indigo ink on the Very Vanilla card stock the Decorative Label creates a lovely shaped sentiment. Using the Stampin' Dimensional adhesive to raise the sentiment above the peacock.
THIS.. this is the inspiration for the water-colored card. With a stunning image like this, my love of vintage, peacocks and blues.. you can see WHY I purchased this door stop for my home.
Aqua Painters allow for a soft and rich look of water coloring. Here the newsprint peeps through and gives an elegant look to this easy hand-stamped card.
